I greatly enjoyed the first book in the Chandler Hill Inn Series and Lettie’s story. Her character touched me and it is one of my favorite books. When I got a chance to read this second book in the series, I jumped at it! Cami’s story is also so wonderful! I’m grateful that I was given an Advance Reader Copy in exchange for my unbiased review by Judith Keim and NetGalley. I love this series so much and Coming Home didn’t let me down!
Coming Home Book 2 Chandler Hill Inn series (can be read as a standalone)
Judith Keim
5 Stars
Amazing! Very beautifully written! Wonderful characters! Kept my interest throughout! Quite emotional and heartwarming!
Loved it! I recommend!
Judith Keim is a masterful storyteller. Coming Home is book 2 in the Chandler Hill series, and does not disappoint. The characters felt like friends to me they were so well developed and believable. I wanted to plan my own wedding at the Inn and I read! Such a fast read and I did not want it to end! Keep writing, Judith!
Coming Home by Judith Keim is the story of a young woman that must return home when her grandmother is not expected to live and subsequently dies. “Cami” Chandler has inherited Chandler Hill Inn and Winery from her grandmother, Lettie, and is now tasked with making them as successful as her grandmother did. However, the manager at the Inn has made some bad investment decisions and has lost a lot of Lettie Chandler’s money. Cami has big shoes to feel and she is learning her way.
As in real life, there are ups and downs but Cami with the help of her family and friends is able to persevere. Great story, likable characters and held my interest. I would definitely recommend.
Linda’ Book Obsession Reviews “Coming Home” by Judith Keim
“Coming Home” by Judith Keim is the second book in the Chandler Hill Inn series. I loved the first book, “Going Home” and think that is best to read both books to have a greater understanding of the significance of the story. “Coming Home” is an emotional, captivating, romantic, intriguing and intense novel. The themes for this novel are Fiction, Women’s Fiction, and Romance. The timeline for this story is set in the present and goes to the past when it pertains to the characters or events. The author vividly describes the vineyards and the rooms in the Inn. I want to pack my bags and immediately visit. The author describes her colorful cast of characters as complex, complicated, determined hardworking. Some are ruthless, and there are betrayals.
“Cami” Chandler comes home from France, broken-hearted over a failed romance to take over The Inn and Winery that has been left to her by her deceased Grandmother Lettie. Her Grandfather Rafe is there to help provide emotional support. Cami finds out that some of the monies she inherits from her Grandmother have been lost in a Ponzi scheme, so she has to be careful and moderate in her spending. Cami realizes that she will have to find people that she can trust. There are twists and turns, and suspense.
I highly recommend this entertaining and thought-provoking story.
I had the pleasure of reading and reviewing Ms. Keim’s first book in this series. It was the first ARC & review I had ever done for NetGalley. It is my sincere pleasure to be able to read and review this second installment as it continues in the life of the Chandlers and the Chandler Hill Inn & Winery.
As in the first book, the story was well written and the characters have strength and high moral values in everything. No matter what, Cami puts her best face forward with honesty and integrity. She deserves to win.
As the wineries grow and mature, I am sure there will be more to tell in the lives of Rafe, Drew and Cami.
I will look forward to the story continuing in the third installment…..perhaps even more???
This book was gifted to me by the author and NetGalley in return for an honest review. I have enjoyed this opportunity very much.
What a fantastic follow up to Going Home, Chandler Hill Inn, Book one. In this book, everyone is still mourning Lettie’s passing, but Cami is determined to carry on her grandmother’s legacy. There are people hoping she’ll fail, but then she has some wonderful supporters too. Rafe, her grandfather, is one of her biggest supporters. I won’t leave any spoilers because I think everyone should read this amazing book. I will say, I was so happy who Cami ended up with in the end.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A delightful second novel in the Chandler Hill series!
“You can choose your friends, but you can’t choose your family.” How true this is at Chandler Hill!
We learn of so many new happenings at the winery and inn as the days go by.
Cami is also learning how to be a business owner and doing a fabulous job, despite a plot by her ex-boyfriend to overturn her family business. He has even taken some of her best employees!
Cami is looking for family connections, and her own happiness. Will she find them?
Stay tuned. The best is in these pages!
Looking forward to the next book to see how Chandler Hill and all the family and friends are doing!
In this fantasic second book in THe Chandler Hill Inn series I was expecting to love it just as much as the first one but after reading this I love it even more! Cami is left devasted after loosing her beloved grandmother nad now has inherited her entire estate and the vineyard. She has suffered many losses but somehow finds hope and love despite all life has given her. Judy has a way of describing each character and situation in a truly relatable way for readers that leaves you wishing for the next book as sson as the last page is done! I Loved this book and can not wait for more ! Thank you to the author for my ARC copy in exchange for my honest review, all words and thoughts are mine alone.
I knew from the beginning of the book this was going to be a favorite because when Cami came to take over Chandler Hill Inn and Winery, she went to her grandmother’s favorite spot. When she closed her eyes, the memories that came gave her the answers she needed. She didn’t know a lot about the business but she had promised her grandmother she would take over the business.
Her grandfather was there to help her and she met Drew who only wanted to be friends which was perfect because her French boyfriend had just ditched her. As she started to take over the business. she discovered a lot of the money that was supposed to help her maintain the business was lost in a Ponzi scheme. Then she discovered the one that was in charge while her grandmother was dying had been making side deals. She hired a lawyer who helped her get things sorted out and they became friends. As things started to look up, her French boyfriend arrived and wanted to get back together and run the business together. She said no it would never happen so he decided to be her competition.
Cami never knew who her father was and when a bride was planning her wedding she said you look just like my best friend. She starts to wonder if that girl’s father could be her father. As Cami said, she had big shoes to fill, she had many challenges but she had many wonderful friends and the memories of those that had passed away to get her through.
There is never a dull moment. This book just grabs your attention from the beginning and the story is so well written that as I was reading, my mind just had the images so it was like a movie in my head as I read the book. I read an ARC but I have preordered it to have in my collection.
Coming Home is the 2nd book in the Chandler Hill Inn series. Cami has inherited the inn after the death of her grandmother, and we follow the up and downs that happen as people she trusted don’t appear to have been friends in the first place. This is a very enjoyable read, and will touch at all the heartstrings. You could read this book as a stand alone but in my personal opinion it is much better to have read the first book of the series before starting this one. I would definitely recommend this book to others.
I was fortunate to be able to read an ARC copy of the book. It is a great second book in the Chandler Inn Series. Cami returns from France to take over the running of the Inn. Cami is challenged in similar ways her grandmother was in taking over the Inn. Letti had to carry out the dreams of the Chandler men and Cami now has to see that her grandmothers dreams are carried forward for all of them. Firing the Inn’s manager and discovering a kickback scheme are just the start of things to come.
Cami and Drew Farley meet, become friends and are good supports for one another. Both have not had luck in love and they both face new challenges when Vanessa and Cami’s French beau, Bernard, show up at the Inn. Karma serves Cami and Drew well as they work through challenges of love and competition.
You will love reading Coming Home and the new adventures and happenings at Chandler Inn. Especially the wedding which is to bring the Kingsley family to the Inn, and Cami’s Doppelganger, Louise Kingley. Could they be related?? Looks like there will be a Chandler Inn Book #3…
Cami has come home to Chandler Hill to keep a promise to her grandmother. As she takes on the duties of innkeeper and the vineyard she learns to be grateful for the gift of the land, friendships and for the love of what is to come.
If it is a book by Judith Keim, then it is a promise of a strong woman that can weather treachery and drama that delivers an amazing heartfelt story. I received an ARC of this book from the author and the comments are my own opinion.
Coming Home #2 – This is such an interesting series and this book picks up after Going Home ends. I miss Lettie, but the rest of the cast is interesting, believable and likeable, except the baddies aren’t too likeable.
The storylines from the past and present are well blended along with the clear descriptive writing style make it difficult to stop reading. I am happy that Ms. Keim does not use the worn out Stupidity Formula to create chaos but realistic events. These characters know how to live and communicate bringing a depth to the tapestry of the Chandler Hill series.
Home at Last, book three of the series, starts two months after Coming Home ends. I contacted the author to review her books and received this book through Booksprout. 4*
Going Home #1 – I have another new author that I enjoy reading. This is my first read and I love it! The story lines involved in the telling of this young woman’s life weaves a fabric of love, despair, happiness, fear and always the importance of family. What she overcomes the first nineteen years of her life is heartbreaking and heartwarming, and what she accomplishes throughout her life is inspiring.
The emotions run the gamut through the good and the bad and the perfect. Expect tears, laughter, doubts, aspirations, romance and love. Know there’s deception and disappointment, too. I knew when Lettie made a decision at the end of the book, that there would be a deception and a major problem to quickly rise it’s ugliness. Other than a couple of deceivers, perfect in their roles, there wasn’t a character I disliked or didn’t care about. Every character brought a richness and depth to this well thought out, tightly woven tapestry of a life that ran through the peaks and valley and became a wonderful, loving person.
I enjoyed the author’s easy to read writing style, the variances in her characters and their realistic dialogs along with the vivid descriptions that painted pictures in my imagination of all the good, the bad and the beautiful surroundings and loving people. If you love Binchy, Pilscher, Grainger and their company, you’ll love this book as much as I do. I found this book on Booksprout. 5*
