Eighteen months ago, Amy Windsor’s world imploded. Andrew, the love of her life, died in the line of duty, destroying her vision of forever. Unsure of how to move on without him, Amy’s life is stuck in an endless loop of grief she can’t escape. Travis “Mac” Mac Gregor was a paramedic on the scene when his friend Andrew died. When he runs into Amy at the cemetery, he recognizes an all too familiar … familiar anguish. In that moment, he decides to help coax her out of her cocoon of grief, knowing it could prove to be a Herculean effort. Daily runs. Clearing out Andrew’s belongings. An unlikely friendship develops, and then… something more.
But in the wake of such a tragic loss, Mac fears he’s simply a stand in for her departed love. Are his fears justified? Or, is the bond between he and Amy strong enough to coax her back to the land of the living?

Solid 4.5 star
You really feel for Amy and Travis both lost someone close to them and Travis was with Andrew when it happened which is a double blow for Amy but Travis decides he needs to help her get back to living some how. There is plenty of emotions to go through in this book real lows, loss, normality, hope and happiness, Amy’s grief cuts you like a knife but you are also rooting for Travis to break her out of grief cycle, I really like how he does things in small nudges and the part of going through Andrews clothes I knew how hard that is to do as I had to do it for my Mum. This really is a book you could read again, I haven’t read the others in this series but will be doing so now as this book has me hooked.
Really liked this Christmas themed book. I liked the characters and the way the story was written. Christmas books are so much fun to read and this one was too.
It was tough not to want to hug Amy. She was still grieving the love of her life and was having trouble living her life. I think Mac helped her back to life. I loved their bantering, their arguing. I think it made Amy not only fight back, but shook her up a bit. I loved how patient Mac was, but at the same time made his feelings known while still doing things for Amy to show he cared. It took someone who thought he knew Amy, but didn’t really, to bring her out of her grief. Great ending to a great series. I’m sad it’s ending.
