Walking into Jake’s bachelor party to see my professor motorboating a stripper?Talk about Awkward. It wouldn’t have been so bad if I wasn’t completely hot for the guy. I had been since I first walked into that feline anatomy class and saw him performing chest compressions on a Persian cat named Andrew. All I could think about was how I wanted to be the next creature to slither under those strong, … under those strong, masculine hands.
It was every woman’s dream, right? Finding a man who knew how to handle a pussy.
So, as I sat in that strip club and knocked back my third tequila, I started thinking… I should make a move on him.
When our eyes locked over the busty blonde stripper who was gyrating against me, and he smiled, it was all the encouragement I needed. I politely pushed her aside, stood up, and walked over to him and…
I’ve got no idea what happened next. I knew there was a reason I avoided drinking tequila.
Judging by the way he’s smirking at me as I walk into his class on Monday?
I’m not sure I want to know…

Another terrific laugh-out-loud, smirk-behind-your-coffee-cup read from the talented Missy Johnson! I really enjoyed this book from boisterous start to mind-blowing finish. Some really sexy bits, very well written, and with characters that come alive… This is a book not to be missed!!
This book was full of laughter and passion. I loved it from start to finish. I’ve really enjoyed this series and I can’t wait for the next books. There was a surprise thrown in towards the end, but I love it when the author gives you something unexpected. Another great addition to a series that’s become one of my favourites.
Becca and Liam have so much chemistry. A laugh out loud romance that will leaving you wanting more. I love awkward moments in a book.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving a review.
Even though I have read plenty of professor/student romances I will say that this is by far one of my favorites!!!
I laughed so many times while reading this book that my husband and kids kept giving me funny looks. The antics between these characters were so much like normal people that it made them almost real.
Liam is a hot professor that can see everything sent through the school messaging system. Becca is an older aged (26) student who likes to send embarrassing messages through said school messaging system. What will happen when Liam lets her know (again) that he can see all of this?
Becca is probably them most clumsy person know to mankind but that also doesn’t stop her from accomplishing what she sets her mind to. She is also very attracted to Liam not knowing who he really is and that she will see him at her best friends bachelor party that she happened to planned.
Liam has many secrets, but he is also a very well rounded person, that knows what he wants and only hesitates briefly before acting on it. What will happen when he acts on his desire for one of his students?
Overall, I loved the chemistry between Becca and Liam. The interaction with all the other characters was a ton of fun to read as well and really kept me on my toes and also in stitches laughing. The plot of the story was very well written and left me wanting to find out what happened.
This was my first book by Missy Johnson but definitely won’t be my last!!! I couldn’t get enough of Becca and Liam!! I love that funny, sexy banter between them and how they just fit perfectly together in the end I would definitely recommend this book and too check out more by Miss Johnson
“Uncomfortable”
I was looking for something a little lighter in the romance genre to take a brief break from my favorite dark romance reads in which recently I was deeply immersed…a little summertime fun!!! In a way, “Comfort Zone” delivered a little levity but I was disappointed by the quality of the read. Now here comes my personal disclaimer…I do not read Rom Coms routinely and they are generally not my cuppa…so accept my musings with this in mind. While I found elements of this story lacking, many might find the story, characters, setting perfectly acceptable and entertaining. (How I hate writing this!!! Although…I did make some art…)
The story has a very funny first chapter which drew me in completely and I based my decision to read the book because of this clever first chapter. That and the fact that it involves one of my favorite tropes which is the hot professor/naughty student forbidden attraction love affair.
What seemed like a promising romantic escape involving a Professor of Veterinary Science and his bright but zany older student sort of fizzled. Much of the story takes place in either a strip club or resort hotel rooms. Liam, the professor, and Becca’s, the student, first sexual touching takes place when Becca is out of her mind inebriated. There is really no heat or chemistry during this scene due, of course, to Becca’s extreme inebriation.
There was not much heat or chemistry throughout the entirety of the book between these two. Becca joked quite a lot about sex but she didn’t seem all that sexual. Sexy time between Becca and Liam did not happen until well into the second half of the book and the few encounters written were repetitive of the same moves and positions.
One would think that Veterinary science folks would have a few pets…yet the only one that had a pet was Liam’s elderly grandmother afflicted with dementia. Her antics were written to be funny but not. She was not just eccentric…she was suffering from a mental decline which only made her antics a sad reminder of her serious health condition.
The whole plot revolved around Becca’s best friend Jake and his upcoming nuptials. I won’t go into the fact that Jake never mentioned his cousin Liam to his best friend Becca because that was the least of the improbabilities in this story.
Rather than continue to belabor point after point on how this book fell short on probability, romance, heat, plot and setting, I will end my discussion. Again, I say that perhaps I approached this read with too much of an analytical mind, but then again, the funniest comedy is usually insightfully and smartly done.
I may need to rethink my personal policy of completing every book I begin. I was truly uncomfortable reading “The Comfort Zone”. I don’t even know what the title refers to in the book?
I recently read a preview for this book that got me hooked. So when I got the opportunity to read the whole story I couldn’t pass it up. Becca is that awkward hilarious friend that you just love to have. Liam is the handsome professor that his students can’t help lusting over. I love the hilarious banter throughout this book, especially the online messages. Becca and Liam’s love story is sweet, simple, and full of awkward fun. Those two were perfect for each other. They just took a little while to finally figure it out. I loved Grammy. Though she suffered from dementia she was hilarious and the few stories they told about her past were crazy funny. Great story and the epilogue helped add to it.
Comfort Zone is book four in the Awkward Love series. It’s about 27 yr. old Becca Chambers who we met in the last book as Laura’s outspoken, funny best friend. Becca has always wanted to work with animals. She took a course at UCLA that landed her a scholarship in veterinary science, and is now working hard as a college student. One of the highlights of her day is her feline anatomy class. She loves learning, but what she loves even more is the delicious eye candy that is Professor Sullivan. She has developed a serious crush on 37 yr. old Liam Sullivan, and is quickly becoming infatuated with ogling him while he teaches. That is till she finds out her IM’s she’s been messaging to her friend Amy during class are monitored through the university’s internal system. She’s humiliated and now has to relive every single dirty thing she said about the professor over the past six months.
Liam keeps seeing his name popping up in messages while he’s trying to give his lectures. He tries to remain professional, but finally decides to inform Becca he can see all the inappropriate things she’s saying about him. She’s absolutely gorgeous and as much as he knows he should be unaffected by her words, he can’t help his attraction to the stunning brunette.
Becca finds Professor Sullivan infuriating, and is so embarrassed. She needs a distraction, and is looking forward to her best friend Jake’s bachelor party. Then she runs into her professor, the man who embodies her every fantasy, and has currently been giving her a hard time. She’s wanted him for so long, and finally decides to make her move. What does she have to lose.
Liam finds himself in a compromising position when he is at a party at a strip club with one of his students. Becca suddenly becomes impossible to ignore. She’s irresistible, and coming on to him. She drinks a little too much tequila, and he decides since she can’t seem to recall all the details of the night, he’ll have a bit of fun with her. The more he gets to know her, the more he likes her.
I really enjoyed this sexy story! It’s a forbidden romance between a professor and his student that’s packed with sexual chemistry and humor. I really love this series. I can’t wait for the next book!
Well talk about AWKWARD LOVE… From their auspicious beginnings to their road trip the chuckles kept coming. Best friends, cousins, a hot professor and sexy times fill this lighthearted story full of awkward moments, a hysterical Mom AND Grammy, a wild bachelor party and so much more.
This is a quick story that I was able to read in one sitting.
I absolutely recommend this book.
Comfort Zone is Book 4 of the Awkward Love series by Missy Johnson. Even though Becca is in Book 3 and the main character from that story is seen here, this book stands fine on its own. I have adored every book so far in this Awkward Love series. These stories are so much fun and delightfully awkward!
Becca and Liam had great chemistry right from the start. Loved the playful flirtations between the two. The only reason this story is getting 4 stars instead of 5 is the whole Brooke/Jaka saga that didn’t seem to really fit in.
Overall though, this is a great addition to the series that was certainly entertaining.
I have read each of the books in the Awkward Love Series and even though each of them can be read on their own in any order, I would recommend reading Too Much Information before this book because that is where you meet Becca and you will have a better understanding of her friendship of Laura, who makes several appearances in this book.
Many people find the teacher/student relationship taboo but I didn’t feel that with this couple, Liam was quite young to be a college professor, 37, and Becca was on the older side of a typical college student, 27, so for me the taboo factor wasn’t there but that didn’t take anything away from this fun and sexy read. If you have read any of my reviews before you’ll know I am an emotional reader, I cry, I laugh out loud, I get mad enough to throw things, well you get the picture…anyway, I found myself laughing out loud quite a few times with this read. I think my favorite parts were with Liam’s granny and Becca’s mom, those two women really know how to have a good time!
If there was a photo in the dictionary next to the work Awkward it would show Becca, this poor girl, if anything could go wrong it would – well as long as she was involved. The book starts off with her and her friend Amy sending IMs to one another during class but Becca forgets that they are fed through the professors computer and he can see EVERYTHING they say, lets just say things get a little AWKWARD for her after she finds out….LOL. And the there’s the fact that she can’t remember most of the night from Jake’s Bachelor Party where she sees her sexy professor…oh boy!!!!
The chemistry was good between Liam and Becca but unfortunately I didn’t get the melt your kindle hotness I enjoy so much…don’t get me wrong the sexy time was still HOT but for me I think the angst overpowered their bedroom activities. If you enjoy a good contemporary romance with a lot of angst and I would recommend this book to you. Happy Reading!!

A laugh a minute!!!
I swear I’ve received a lot of weird looks while reading this book, because I was laughing like crazy alone, while glued to my ebook. I enjoyed Laura’s story in Too Much Information, but this one knocked it out of the ballpark! It’s hilarious, awkward, and very, very entertaining!!!
This is my favorite Missy Johnson story, so far! I can’t wait for more crazy to come!
This was a super cute addition to this series. We knew Becca from the last book and seeing her get her own book was an experience. The first half of the book reminded me a little of the movie the hangover. Then when we get closer to the end we get the drama. It was pretty straight forward and I found that I appreciated that fact. This series is overall laid back. If you want a funny story after you have read something more intense then this story is for you. Her parents, his grandma, the other secondary characters really add a great spin to the overall feel of the story. I am excited for the next one. 4 stars #2OCCJD
4 Sombrero Filled Stars!!!
This Awkward Love series by Missy Johnson is amazing! This is the 4th book and every couple start off in very awkward and uncomfortable circumstances. Some circumstances every person reading these books have been in or know somebody who has.
We met Becca in the previous book and her initial introduction had me pissing my pants bc I was hysterical laughing. So, I was stoked to find out her story was this one.
Becca’s back at school. And, her teacher is gorgeous. Becca spends the whole class IMing her friend talking dirty about her professor. Little did Becca know Professor Sullivan was able to read every single IM that’s sent in his class.
When she does find out Becca is mortified. But, it’s obvious that he liked it and her. Becca can’t think so she’s excited to go to her best friend Jake’s bachelor party. Imagine her surprise when she meets Jake’s cousin. Yup Professor Sullivan AKA Liam. Becca decides they’re partying at a strip club no time like the present to let loose and give into temptation.
Teaching was never what Liam thought he’d be doing and having his father as his boss definitely isn’t what he’d want. Having Becca in his class is amusing. Reading her IMs about everything she’d love to do to him is what makes his days.
When he goes to his cousin Jake’s bachelor party he’s shocked his best friend is Becca. The same Becca who makes him so hard he can hardly stand or teach her class. Liam knows tonight’s going to be interesting and he’s going to use it to his advantage.
Becca has to go to a ceremony for her parents. I’m not telling you what bc I was crying from laughing so hard when it was explained and continuing to be brought up. Yes, it’s that good lol. She drunkenly invited Liam and didn’t remember. Which he plans on going ESP since he’s got to get his and Jake’s grandma and bring her to the wedding. Considering she has dementia and is lucid one minute and not the next having Becca there to help is a plus.
When I tell you this was one interestingly funny road trip, I’m not kidding. Liam’s grandma legit had me weak I couldn’t stop laughing.I also felt for Liam bc my grandma had dementia so I knew how he felt.
This book I flew thru like the previous one. There was one part of the storyline at the end with Jake and it legit killed it for me. For me it killed the story for me. It was so uncalled for and it did absolutely did nothing for the storyline for Liam and Becca. It would’ve been better without it. But, other then that I liked this story.
