Read chapter one of Nora Roberts’s Come Sundown! The Bodine ranch and resort in western Montana is a family business, an idyllic spot for vacationers. A little over thirty thousand acres and home to four generations, it’s kept running by Bodine Longbow with the help of a large staff, including new hire Callen Skinner. There was another member of the family once: Bodine’s aunt, Alice, who ran off … Alice, who ran off before Bodine was born. She never returned, and the Longbows don’t talk about her much. The younger ones, who never met her, quietly presume she’s dead. But she isn’t. She is not far away, part of a new family, one she never chose–and her mind has been shattered…
When a bartender leaves the resort late one night, and Bo and Cal discover her battered body in the snow, it’s the first sign that danger lurks in the mountains that surround them. The police suspect Cal, but Bo finds herself trusting him–and turning to him as another woman is murdered and the Longbows are stunned by Alice’s sudden reappearance. The twisted story she has to tell about the past–and the threat that follows in her wake–will test the bonds of this strong family, and thrust Bodine into a darkness she could never have imagined.

Nora of old, not a rehash of her others stories. Wonderful read
I don’t know how Nora Roberts come up with her ideas. This book has wonderful characters…even though I hated “Sir” and his son. And, oh my gosh! What an amazing horse Sundown is. What can I say about Alice…she has an inner strength or she would have gone completely crazy.
I love everything Nora Roberts has put out there. Five stars aren’t going to be enough. She is the greatest author of romance novels. Cal and Bo are perfect for each other. I can’t wait to read her next book in December. I’m already planning on buying it as soon as it’s released.
I’ve never met a Nora Roberts book I couldn’t put down. This one I can. The first chapter, and others later detailing the bondage of a young woman, has given me night mares — I did NOT like it at all sorry to say — and that’s a first, and to date I’ve read almost everything she’s ever written as Nora Roberts (not crazy about JD Robb).
Not up to her usual standards. Just because its 477 pages does not make it a good read. Tedious, too many characters, love scenes appear to be copied and pasted from her other books. would not recommend
Also a great book by Nora Roberts.
A fan of Nora Roberts and this was one of her best.
I’m still trying to catch my breath. This was such an amazing story filled with the love between various couples, new and old, a tight family knit, laughter, tears, horror and the delight of overcoming of certain issues and problems that the various characters have, good people, bad people. Oh, what a wonderful mix and a real page turner as only Nora Roberts can produce. How she continuously does this in every story she writes I don’t know, but I am every so grateful that she does.
This is definitely a five plus star book. Bravo Nora. I can very happily recommend this as a fantastic and believable read.
