Book 1, Second Chances Time Travel Romance SeriesJake Owens is tired of the cowboy life on his parents’ Montana ranch, catering to city folk who want a taste of old-fashioned country living. He enjoys life in the fast lane, with fast cars and even faster women. When he falls in with the wrong crowd and is accused of murder, a stranger’s bizarre offer at a second chance might be his only hope to … only hope to clear his name.
Rachel Parker is highly devoted to her family. A tragedy prompts a daring move to the Oregon Territory for a fresh start in a new land. After meeting the wagon train’s scout, the meaning of a fresh start may be more than she ever imagined.
Jake doesn’t believe in time travel, or that he’s been sent back in time to act as scout for a wagon train along the Oregon Trail. He’s also been given the added burden of keeping one emigrant woman safe during the journey. He and Rachel are confused by their attraction to each other. Jake’s ill-mannered, unconventional ways are overshadowed only by his notorious reputation. Rachel’s traditional values and quiet, responsible character are the complete opposite of what attracts Jake to a woman. When their forbidden attraction turns to love, what will happen at the end of the trail?

I loved the book. Jake is in jail for a murder he didn’t commit when he gets sent back in time to lead a wagon train to Oregon. He is a mixed up guy who becomes an honorable hero when he meets Mrs. Rachel Parker on the way. Wonderful, fleshed out, realistic characters and good, romantic plot!
Best ever for writing story and time travel
Well I have a weakness for time travel romances so I have given the book a chance. and I loved it. The plot is simple but it’s simply beautiful. I love the strength of Jake’s character and Rachel’s resilience as well. I was touched by how love changed Jake and his outlook in life. The author has well conveyed the intensity of the love going on …
I loved this book so much! I didn’t want it to end, highly recommend giving it a read.
Nice beach read
I loved this book, especially the ending. Best time travel romance I have read in quite some time.
Interesting story of wagon train travel to the west.
I love the characters and the whole story.
This author is fast becoming one of my favorite. After reading the Yellowstone series and venturing into one of her time travel novels, I had to give Come Home to Me a try. It is a well written time travel story and done with amazing facts, research of the 1800’s and excitement galore. This book was about Second Chances with Time Travel so a bit …
Well written and enjoyable, but I sensed it missed a few chapters before the finale as the ending was quite hurried.
Love the characters and also inspirational. Thank you for making this book.
Loved how you made me feel like I was part of the wagon train to Oregon. Loved the characters. Thank you for a great read.
Jake finds his time and space to be the man he’s meant to be!
Jake’s life in the present time is in shambles, so when he finds himself transported to the past, he’s got a second chance to carve out for himself the life he wants to live. Rachel is everything lovely about a 19th century young pioneer woman, and she’s absolutely perfect for Jake. …
I love reading about this era and location (Yellowstone before it was a park).
Excellent story line. Never bored.
If you enjoy time travel books that are set in the old west, you’ll love this book. I’ve read quite a few of Peggy Henderson’s time travel books and every one has been a keeper. Her writing pulls you right in and her characters become friends you want to visit again and again.
Love time travellers. Bring em on!!
Love love love Peggy Henderson’s books
Awesome!
