…a beautiful love story… — Joyce W. I say I’ve set out on an adventure, but I’m lying. Deep down, I know the truth. I’m running. From my past. From my future. From everything. When I meet Frank Wilde, a man whose dark eyes and chiseled abs would be intimidating if it weren’t for his soul-searing smile, I know I should keep on running. There’s nothing but disaster waiting for me with a man … disaster waiting for me with a man like him, a man who makes me feel like I mean more than one passion filled night of sweaty bodies and tangled sheets.
For the first time in my life, I stick around. Bit by bit, touch by touch, kiss by kiss, Frank shows me what it means to trust someone with my deepest secrets and purest truths.
But when his past comes back to haunt us, I realize I’m not the only one fighting demons and I might have been better off if I’d just kept running after all…
Come Home To Me is a standalone contemporary romance. Character driven. Emotional. Honest.

A well written, emotional romance, Sarah is on the run from her inner demons. Her history with her family has left her a broken person having to rely on medication to get through each day. When she crashes in an intersection in a strange city, debonair Frank comes to her rescue, and keeps on coming to her rescue. However, Frank has his own demons to deal with and when his problems rise up to destroy him, Sarah has more to deal with than she ever thought possible. The story deals with real people facing real problems, but with the help of a friend they manage to see the situation clearly. I loved both Frank and Sarah’s characters and Jason makes a good third wheel. The story speaks of overcoming the past, something most people I know have to deal with in one way or another. How we deal with our problems speaks of our inner strength. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Sarah has never felt like she belonged or measured up to the rest of her family so she decided a trip to put some space between them was best for everyone. After a car accident she ends up stranded in Colorado when Frank comes to her rescue.
Frank is the country boy who moved to the city but he is always willing to help out those around him especially beautiful women. He senses a kindred spirit in Sarah and even arranges a job for her at the company he works with.
Both Sarah and Frank have a history of dealing with their problems and emotions in ways that aren’t in their best interests but will they be able to help each other heal or will their pasts tear them apart?
This is an emotional story of two complex characters. Sarah and Frank are perfect for each other but they have a lot of obstacles to overcome before they get there. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I think I want to be Sarah when I grow up. She had such a hard road, yet faced life with such humor and hope, a wonderful “take life as it comes” attitude. Frank is trying not to repeat the mistakes of his past, but he is so drawn to Sarah that he just can’t resist her, no matter the risk.
I thought these two characters were just so right for each other. Their relationship starts off as just an undeniable attraction, but soon they get past their surface personas and start to reveal their true inner selves. This is where the story really takes off, when hearts are at risk and all the hidden truths start coming out.
The author does a fantastic job of making these characters feel authentic, flawed, and realistic. Sarah is from the Brookside series, while Frank is one of the Wilde Boys. It’s great to see both series joined by this one romance. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Sarah Carmichael sure makes herself hard to love, but deep down she’s just broken and hurting. Frank Wilde sees something in her that she doesn’t even see herself. Abby Brooks does an amazing job of developing both these characters, making them flawed and real, and ultimately redeeming them both in the end. Great finale to the Brookside series – I’m just sorry to see it end!
I love each if Abby’s books. And this again is a very strong one. You fall so hard for frank and Sarah’s. Characters. You just don’t want the book to end. And also you get a good glimpse of both sides if the family. I wish the ending was more like the other books as ( not that its a bad thing ). Just seems in finished.. Theres more to frank and sarah I feel 😉
.
A fantastic story!! Sarah is running away from a bad life when she ends up in a car accident in Denver. She meets Frank, local ladies man…. The storyline is very well written and the plot was well developed. The chemistry between the characters was great. The characters are well described and very likeable. I love these books. I voluntarily reviewed advanced copy of this book.
This book had me totally captivated from the very beginning! The well written storyline flowed flawlessly from page to page and the characters were very likable and personable which kept me totally engaged until the turn of the very last page!
Come Home To Me is a crossover into the Wilde Boys series and the perfect book to end the Brookside Series with. However, this book can be read as a complete stand alone. I’m going to miss the town of Brookside and all the wonderful characters but I can’t wait to see what Abby Brooks comes up with next.
Whoa, Frank!
Seems you do have a touch of the White Knight syndrome, and so far it hasn’t worked out very well for you…
Maybe it’s that touch of black on your inner armor.
But Sarah… Well, maybe there’s more to Sarah than you see at first. Maybe she isn’t really like ones who’ve left you burnt and shy… maybe…
Just maybe, you need to deal with your past and your present attitudes before they cause you to fall, and all that armor dooms you.
Sarah’s running from something in her past… But she is stronger than she knows. When the truth comes out, maybe she can come home again…
And maybe, just maybe, home is where the two of you make it– deep inside each other’s hearts.
What a great way to end a wonderful series. Brookside will live in my heart for a long time to come.
Bottom line: One more for the Keeper shelf. 5 stars.
This was a nice way to end a series. Its also s great way to intertwine the wilde boys . Both of these series were great. I have been waiting and waiting for Sarah to get her own book and it was quite fitting on how it ended. Sarah has always been misguided. Shes always been this misguided “stuckup” spoiled child. It was great to find out about her past and find out her issues. I could relate to her with her anxiety and trust. Frank was a great character. He was such a great happy character that I wish I could meet him myself. He’s gone though his own drama but unlike Sarah he doesn’t let it hold him back. Though the book did seem a bit rushed I enjoyed it still. It is a standalone but reading the previous books will really help you understand her more and family. I read this book voluntarily fir an honest review. I loved this series. Its book a ride from beginning to end that I don’t regret. Enjoy!
Sweetly sexy, heartwarming, emotional romantic journey filled with uncertainty, heartbreak, longing, passion and the healing power of love for two beautifully broken souls.
Frank Wilde is sweet, charming and always there to lend a helping hand, Sarah is sexy, shy and running away from her problems until a car accident leaves her stranded in Frank’s arms. Sarah and Frank are so breathtakingly real and perfect for each other. They are both haunted by the past and find a real chance at a future in each other. Loved very heart pounding twist and turn.
This was a wonderful ending to a great series! Sarah has always been a mystery and we find out why. I am glad that her issues weren’t glossed over and fixed. Frank was a good matchup for her.
Looking forward to reading about the Wilde boys!
Thank you so much for the privilege of reading this book! Well done!
I love crossover books! Come Home to Me was a great read, I loved it!
Sarah suffers from bad anxiety, never felt she fit in. Her stress and anxiety causes her to struggle through life, run and turn to abusing meds to keep the pain from the asking over her life…
Running into Frank may have been just what Sarah needed! He’s there for Sarah when her problems seem too big and helps her not want to run anymore…
Will Sarah be able to help Frank when his problems come to the surface? Is she strong enough?
Fantastic writing, tons of feels, loved this series!
Another heart warming book by Abby Brooks. I fell in love with Frank and Sarah from the beginning and loved them till the end. A beautiful heartfelt read.
Favorite quote: Sarah ~ “Who is Frank? He’s the guy worth taking a risk for. The guy worth changing for. The guy who’s going to teach me to fly.”
This book 😉 Abby Brooks has written another BEST SELLER! This book is indeed captivating.
I absolutely loved this book from beginning to end, it has all the feels I like getting when I read a book. I could not put it down once I started reading, it’s a real page turner.
I smiled at some things and cried at others.
” For me, home isn’t a place. It’s a person”
” But sometimes, what’s easy isn’t what’s best. Sometimes we have to fight for what we want.”
These quotes from the book spoke volumes to my heart.
This book is filled with struggles and romance as Frank and Sarah struggle with ghosts from their past as they find their way home to each other. Ending with their HEA.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary ARC and I highly recommend this wonderful love story.
I can’t wait to read the next book that Abby Brooks writes.
Loved Sarah and Frank. How they learn about each other. How they work to solve their issues.
He was solid and yeah a little cocky about just how good he was at his job which was his life. She was on an adventure when she crashed into his life. This author does this kind of read well. Yeah it is insta-love kinda but not the kind that is a wham bam thank you ma’am kinda read. These two shouldn’t mesh, and kinda fight it. But when it all blows up all they can do is be along for the ride. This author gives us a story that hurts, burns, heals, and nurtures. She does it with a clarity and tenderness that not all authors have. It makes you want to take these two and help them through whatever is happening and make it alright. I love her style, her characters, her books. Great read.
Frank and Sarah meet when she gets in a car accident and Frank stops to make sure she’s not hurt. Their connection is immediate but he has to get back to work. When his job has their weekly get together, he sees Sarah again and gives him her number. He finds out she’s getting away from life. He mentions that his job is looking for a receptionist and she should apply. Will Frank and Sarah ever get together? I loved this book from start to finish.
Watching these two complex characters in this story was unreal. Both Sarah and Frank have issues but together they seem to be able to overcome them. Loved the storyline and how Abby shows the depth of her characters. It’s unfortunate but true that people like this have to deal with these kinds of issues in real life which made this book even more likeable. A definite read to keep you going and not want to put it down.
Frank meets Abby while she is running from life and ends up in a car accident, from there the 2 are drawn t one another while both having doubts about Abby and if she will stick around. I really liked how they were both vulnerable people at one time or another and let each other see that whether they want to or not. The fact we slowly find out about what happened to Abby to make her well such a train wreck really draws you in and you can not help but understand why she is the way she is. Just when you think things are starting to go well for them both there is a bomb shell that makes you wonder if they can come out the end not only in one piece but together. This is the first book in this series I have read and will now be going back to read the others.
