This was a first read by this author for me. I was not disappointed! In Come Home Again, I got all the feels of a second chance romance mixed with a friends to lovers type romance or childhood sweetheart romance as well.
I love the back story of how Delilah and Nate. I especially loved Delilah’s family and I am so excited to know that this is the first in a series about them. I think it really says something when and author can make us feel that strongly about a person or a group of people in their book. Especially from the first book in the series like this.
Two of the characters creeped me out from the very beginning. Another one was uncovered after a bit, so there are three characters in the story that really had me wanting to do some violence. Again, when an author makes you feel that strongly about a character, good or bad, that’s a testament to their talents.
The emotions and the heat were consistent through the story. I was never bored, I was kept intrigued and invested through the whole book. If you like romance, especially that with a bit of spice, but also a bit of intrigue and action, you’re going to enjoy this book!

Come Home Again was the first book in Nana Malone’s Donovan series.
Delilah Donovan was a successful fixer. She was the go to in her firm for celebrities that needed a serious image make over. She turned the worst of situations into the best images. She was beautiful, smart and always bringing home strays. Unfortunately that meant she was given the worst projects and she was ready for the fun jobs working with corporate images versus celebrity bad boys. Enter Nate Williams.
Nate was the new interim CEO for a gaming firm to help out his best friend until he could take the reins again. As such, Nate was an unknown and needed an image boost. He was a private person so he wasn’t looking forward to it but he’d do anything for his best friend.
The storyline was multi-faceted. The base of the storyline was the relationship between Delilah and Nate. Unbeknownst to rest of the players, Nate and Delilah had history but Nate had vanished into thin air seven years ago. The storyline meshed past and present. They were working together but had obvious trust issues. Of course the chemistry was off the charts so there was that. Malone also created a storyline around Nate’s new company and the issues within, creating a suspenseful vibe. And lastly, Malone built up the internal challenges within Delilah’s firm and the tumultuous relationship with her douche boss. Ultimately all storylines merged into one.
I enjoyed the storyline and the characters. I also loved the supporting characters with Lach and Willow as my favorites. I do however wish that Malone would have detailed the Donovan’s better. There were brief cameos but no specific details other than they were present. I craved a better set up for the series. Additionally, there were editing errors and a few inconsistent / conflicting details.
Otherwise, it was a quick and entertaining read. Next up is MIA Donovan, but hopefully Lach, Willow and possibly Chase will get stories as well.
Cute story. Loved the characters. Easy to read. And well worth the money. Has a great involved story.
A Terrific Story
Delilah has been lucky having the parents she HSS, but not everyone is. Nate was beaten up and scared. The Donovan’s helps him but he runs. 7 years later he runs into her. He is being placed as interim CEO for his friends gaming company. He still loves her, she still loves him but can she trust him. He goes straight to the source the parents who helped him and apologize.
Come Home Again (Donovans Book 1) by Nana Malone is a contemporary, second chance romance. Although it is the first in a series, it is also a complete standalone.
Resourceful Hollywood fixer, Delilah, has primarily worked with D-list celebrities. In order to become a junior partner at her firm, her boss assigns her to a corporate client as a trial. She is excited and confident about the opportunity until she sees the client – the last person she ever expected.
Successful computer game coder and designer, Nate, has overcome a troubled past and managed to keep that past hidden. As a favor to his friend, CEO and owner of Synth Games, Chase Manning, who is entering an addiction recovery program, he has agreed to step in as interim CEO.
Nate and Delilah are surprised to see each other, as it has been many years, but they have an undeniable chemistry. As he’s a virtual unknown, her firm has been hired to make sure he is believable in his new role as CEO so that the board does not vote him out before Chase can return to the position. But with thugs from the past resurfacing, and a stalkery D-list celeb interfering, Delilah and Nate have their work cut out for them.
I thought this was an entertaining story. There were some editing errors with regards to the timeline, but it was a fun, fast-paced read. Overall, I enjoyed it.
Come Home Again by Nana Malone is a fantastic contemporary romance. Ms. Malone has delivered a well-written book full of outstanding characters. Delilah works for Park and Associates pulling strings and her clients’ bacon out of the fire. Nate is stepping in as CEO for his friend Chase and has to work with Delilah to keep Chase’s seat for him while he is in rehab. Nate and Delilah’s story is loaded with drama, humor, suspicion and spice. I enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more from Nana Malone in the future. Come Home Again is book 1 of The Donovans Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Fabulous second chance at romance , I found this book to be interesting and entertaining. It has intriguing characters,–great storyline; humor, snarky banter, enough angst to keep you turning pages and a HEA that will make smile. The chemistry and sexual tension between Delilah and Nate is hot even after seven years apart. The author has written it so well you feel every spark. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the other books in this series.
Nana Malone grabbed my attention right from the start and kept it till the end. Nana Malone has a way of drawing into the story, in my opinion she makes the characters believable. The characters are not perfect they have flaws and secrets. Delilah is smart, feisty and a fixer, but she has her insecurities. Nate is smart, takes no crap, but also has insecurities and many secrets. I felt Nana did a good job of writing these two characters journeys to finding each other. In my opinion Nana Malone does a good job of writing the characters and does not give too much away. She keeps you guessing. She also knows how to keep the suspense to the end. In my opinion Come Home Again is worth reading.
Will a little duct tape and sass fix the past? Great read!
Delilah Donovan is a fixer to the stars – well the D-list ones at least. She’s smart and successful at her job, and, after she’s fixed them and their situations, they love her for it. She’s all set for the new challenge that her boss gives her, offering her a partnership if she succeeds, and is most confident about it, until she sees the him walk through the door.
Nate isn’t the 18 year old boy that she saw seven years ago, when he bailed on her and her family after they’d rescued him from a beating and taken him in. He is now Death-Star, the infamous coder and designer of the popular computer games that has made Synth Games a hugely successful company, and her job is to make him out to be a believable interim CEO as he steps into the caretaker role while his friend, owner and CEO of Synth Games, Chase Manning gets the help he needs for a gambling addiction.
Delilah won’t fail, in fact she won’t fall in love with him again, and on Nate’s part, he has to trust that she knows what she’s doing. What they both hadn’t counted on was Delilah’s possessive client who seems to think he is entitled to her, nor Nate’s dark past coming back to haunt them both.
This is the first book of Nana Malones’ that I have read, and it is one that I really enjoyed. I will certainly be after more of her books. The heat between Nate and Delilah is up there, and you can tell that love is in the mix. Nana also exposes the sleazy underbelly of the entertainment industry where those with money and clout think that they can own what is not theirs to take. I have to say that I loved Willow, Delilah’s investigator – she’s a hoot!
At the heart of this book, Come Home Again, is a man who has had to fight for everything on his own since he was a boy. Perhaps leaning on the woman he loves, to help fix things, is a step too far. 4 Stars.
Delilah fix celebrities’s life’s for a living so when she has to face Nate, the boy she was in love and the boy that run away from her seven years ago, she is not so sure about her work. They have to try to work together and fix their past in order to have a future together, can they do it? An explosive relationship with a sweet touch.
Great read
Nana Malone’s motto should be: To weather the storm, strength of character has to be the norm. The one constant in Ms. Malone’s work is that her characters tend to sell them self’s short. Come Home Again centers around a man trying to outrun his past and a woman forced to face hers. Dee and Nate have a past that is heartbreaking, mysterious and at times even tragic, but until they face it, they will be haunted by it. If emotional is what you seek look no further than the sensitive, sensual and sensational, Nana Malone.
Good storyline a little sad but it makes up for it in the end!
Knew what would eventually happen, but enjoyed the twists and turns.
Wasn’t impressed
Loved this book! It grips you and makes you want to read more!
