From New York Times Bestselling author Corinne Michaels comes a new emotional and riveting standalone love story. One night, eight years ago, she gave me peace. No names. No promises.Just two broken people, desperate to quiet their pain and grief. In the morning, she was gone and had taken my solace with her. I left for the military that day, vowing never to return to Pennsylvania. When my father … to return to Pennsylvania.
When my father dies, I’m forced to go home to bury him. At least I’ll finally be rid of his farm, which is grown over and tangled with memories I’ve fought to forget.
And that’s when I find her. She’s even more beautiful than I remember and has the most adorable kid I’ve ever seen.
Years have passed, but my feelings are the same, and this time I refuse to let her go. They say you can’t bury the past, and they’re right. Because when long-ago secrets are exposed, rocking us both to the core, I have no choice but to watch her walk away again . . .

Another great book from this amazing author. She always lures you into her stories and makes you fall head over heels in love with her characters. Come Back for Me was everything and more that I’ve come to expect from this author. It has all the feels that makes you fall in love with every part of the story. OMG, I loved little Hadley and her cuteness just melted my heart. The instant bond that forms between her an Conner was so heartwarming. I couldn’t get enough of the story and couldn’t read fast enough as Conner, Ellie, and Hadley’s story just comes alive with every turn of the page. To say that I Loved their story is an understatement. I floved it!!! Highly recommend this author to anyone that loves a great story!! This is a can’t miss read and an instant one-click author for me.

Come Back For Me
This book was truly Amazing that pulls on so many heart strings!
Ellie and Conner’s story pulls you in right from the beginning and Hadley just makes this story more perfect!
The saying that you never know what goes on behind closed doors.. well Corinne opened up the doors of Conner’s past and Ellie’s present that grips your soul! I absolutely loved it. The start of The Arrowood Brother’s series keeps you on edge and wanting more!
Come Back for Me is the first book in Corinne Michaels’ new series the Arrowood Brothers. It’s been ages since I’ve lost myself in Michaels words. She has a way of consuming you with her words and making you feel all the feels.
I’ve read a lot of the authors books, so obviously I jumped at the chance to read a new book in a new series. And I have to say I loved the story. It was emotional, full of angst and raw. I did feel that the relationship with Connor and Ellie progressed really quickly, too quickly for someone that was in Ellie’s case if you ask me. It also did take me a while to connect with them as a couple. But once I did I loved them.
There’s honestly not a lot I can say without spoiling the story and I don’t want to do that. But if you love your romance books to comsume you heart and soul. That are full of emotion, raw and full of angst then this is the book for you.
OHHH the heart! The feels! The everything! This story of Connor and Ellie is just one of pure heartbreak but also it puts your heart back together. The fluidity of this story. The concept and the backstories to the romance just elevated the story that much. Michaels takes a really tough topic that she writes with grace and finesse. My heart shattered as things play out but watching how much Connor cares and even though Ellie is scared, how she takes everything in. Honestly there are no words to adequately describe this story without giving a spoiler.
This is honestly one of Michaels best work ever. I was totally engaged the whole time. I giggled. I swooned. I got a bit angry. But as a whole, it was one of the most stunning stories and we are just starting 2020! I cannot wait till more from these brothers!
I’m fairly new to Corinne’s books. I found her thru the duet’s with Melanie Harlow and then I fell in love with her when I read “Say You’ll Stay” and that whole series. Unfortunately I haven’t gotten around to her other books yet but with all of the hype on this book, I had to buy it immediately and I’m so GLAD I did.
I am in love with the Arrowood Brothers already and we have just gotten a glimpse of them. I literally can’t wait for all of the books in this series.
I love Connor and Ellie and their amazing connection. I especially love Hadley. The storyline is amazing and so heartfelt! Without giving any spoilers, just know it’s wonderful and a beautiful second chance love story. Many points I love but one of my favorites is “You’re everything I remembered and nothing I was prepared for”.
I can’t wait for Declan and Syd’s story. I just know it’s going to be AMAZING as well!
Corinne Michaels brings all the poignance in her latest novel, Come Back for Me. It’s a brilliantly plotted second chance romance that features flawed, yet mature characters.
Conner and Ellie shared an inexplicable connection and an amazing night together eight years ago. Unaware of each others’ circumstances or names, they then went their separate ways. Forced to return to the hometown he’d sworn he’d leave behind, Conner comes face to face with Ellie and they’re both thrown for a loop.
One of the things I most appreciated while reading this novel is how the protagonists actually communicate with each other. So often in romance, there will be a huge misunderstanding or a lie that could have been resolved had there been an actual discussion, and I’m happy to report that this book has its characters behaving like the full-fledged adults that they are. There’s good chemistry, a healthy dose of angst, and a satisfying ending. I also can’t wait to read about the other three Arrowood brothers and am happy this is going to be a series.
TW: Depictions of domestic violence and parental neglect. All done in a manner that is not overly sensationalized, but still may be difficult for some readers to read.
Corinne has outdone herself again!! I swear she is a wizard with words. This book gave me ALL the feels, and it was an emotional rollercoaster in the best way. I loved seeing characters from past books intertwined in this book. It truly is an entire world that the author has created. This read was an amazing way to start the year. I can’t wait to see more from these brothers. 5 big stars from me!!
This is seriously one of the best standalone ever!! You can tell some much heart was dropped into this book!!!
There is so much angst.. and keeps you wondering what will actually happen.
I absolutely can’t wait for the other brothers!!!
Yet another stonking read full of everything you would expect from Corinne Michaels ! The angst the damn tears ! The excitement, the characters and world building !
The Brothers oh my, despite living their own lives the compassion and loyalty that is shown and on display is why I love this book so much !
The sense of familiarity although a total new series is something Corinne does so very well !
Connor and Ellie are just…. but Hadley stole the show !
I can’t wait for what’s next
5 stars
Favorite Quotes:
I look through the window for the hundredth time. I keep checking to make sure she’s really there and that this isn’t some alternate reality I’ve created in my head. Right now, I trust nothing because I’m not really sure I’m alive and this isn’t limbo.
It’s as if I’ve been living in black-and-white but have just stepped into full color and the vividness of life around me is blinding.
Do you see that tree out there? … That’s where my brother convinced me that I was a descendant of Superman and that flying was in my blood. He also told me that he had a vial of kryptonite, and if I didn’t take my chances on the flying thing, I would die… and I broke my nose and two ribs.
“To me, my mother died a born again virgin.” He’s so stupid. “From what you’ve told me about your father’s undying love for her, I’m going to guess that isn’t true. Also, she had four boys in five years. That’s a lot of sex.” His face scrunches. “No, that’s one time each, and they never touched again.”
Do you know what else I’m afraid of?… The Tooth Fairy… She’s so creepy! Who comes into your room when you’re sleeping and takes teeth? If I could be anything cool, it wouldn’t be that.
My Review:
Gasp, I checked Goodreads and this is the first time I have ever read a Corinne Michaels’ book – where have I been?!? I am chastising myself for my sloth as I’ve been missing out – Ms. Michaels definitely has the word voodoo. This emotive story hit all the feels and told an engaging, sweet, and heart-squeezing romance between lively hits of levity and scorching hot steam. I made the rookie mistake of reading in a public waiting room and had to shut my Kindle down and seek out ice water to avoid totally embarrassing myself with involuntary noises and ragged breathing. Clutch the pearls! I adored these characters and hope I’m paying attention when the rest of the series hits the assembly line.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this story. Connor, Ellie and Hadley are just everything. Their insane connection and instant bond totally grabbed me from chapter one and i was totally engrossed to the last page.
I’m an in the moment reader y’all and words just don’t flow when reviewing but just do yourself the favor of investing in Corinne’s words. You won’t regret it.

This is Book 1 of The Arrowood Brothers Series
This is the story of Connor & Ellie. Connor is a Navy Seal who is about to have a medical discharge due to a leg injury. Ellie is married to an abuser and has a daughter, and they live next door. Connor and Ellie met eight years ago just for one night with no names exchanged. The next day he left for the military and she got married. He comes homes after his father dies with his brothers. They have an extremely hard time even looking at their childhood house because of the past. These four brothers have a bond and a vow to one another. Connor sees Ellie again and can’t believe it’s her. These two have never forgotten one another. The personalities of these characters are just great. Connor is a gem, even after all he went through as a child after his mother passed away. The both of them still go through a lot in this story. There are many feelings, and you will feel them right along with them. That is a trait of a great writer. All who are into this genre of writing, please read. You will absolutely love their story.
Such a heartbreaking story, yet totally swoonworthy!
Two broken people come together for just one night. That was all it was supposed to be, yet 8 years later the feelings are still the same as that one night.
Conner is an ex Navy Seal, and has come back to the one place her vowed to never return. Elle is living a nightmare, doing her best to just make it thru the days until she can remove herself and her daughter Hadley from a bad situation.
On a fateful night, Conner is there for her…..and continues to be. What they once shared was not a fluke, but she is beginning to realize, something real. Something she always wanted but never dared to believe she would have.
Fate is a fickle thing though, because he had another role in her life that just might destroy them both.
You will love this story, you will love Hadley and you will root for this couple the entire way thru this book. 5+ stars!
100 Stars for Connor! (and 50 for Declan and it’s not even his book).
If I could give this book one hundred stars I totally would. I was SOOO looking forward to the release of this book. Before I read it, I wondered if I was hyping it up so much in my head that the book wouldn’t be able to live up to my expectations…and since I have read all of this author’s books and loved them all – I had pretty high expectations.
And I wasn’t disappointed. At all. In the least. This story gets you right in the feels. And I would think I would know what was going to happen when all of the sudden it goes somewhere else. Connor is so dang lovable. And Ellie- is so much stronger than she knows. I love stories like this and they really get me when like this one they have all the feels. Heck I want all the feels so I already preordered the next Arrowood Brother book- because Declan sounds just as good as his brother. If not better.
4.5 Stars!
This is the first book in a new series featuring the Arrowhead brothers.
Connor is an ex-Navy Seal whose tour has ended and now has to deal with the demons of his past. During the years away, he has dreamt of this mysterious girl he met the night before his leave. They said no names and no promises. There is nothing more he wants than her. She haunts him just as much now and does not know how to move on.
Ellie also dreams of that night with Connor and holds on to all the emotions that night evoke. Her life is awful, just pure hell, and has to find a way to get out of her situation.
Connor and Ellie’s story captivated me and read it in one sitting. So so many feelings!!! I absolutely loved the emotional struggle between all the characters to fight the demons of their past in order to move forward. It is beautiful written, well-paced, and heartbreaking as well as heartwarming. It is an amazing start to this series. I’m looking forward to Declan’s story.
Definitely recommend this book.
Come Back For Me begins with Connor Arrowood getting out of the Navy. He is heading back to his hometown. A town he swore he’d never step foot in again. While visiting the place he grew up, he meets an adorable little girl and her mother. Turns out the mother, Ellie, is a woman he met 8 years ago right before he was deployed. She’s also the woman he hasn’t stopped dreaming about since. Ellie is married and has a daughter. She doesn’t know what to think when she sees Connor again. Connor was the youngest of four boys. And he was super sweet with a charming personality. I really felt for Ellie. She’s had a pretty rough life the last 8 years. She’s a wonderful mother and always puts her daughter first. I really enjoyed this story. Watching this couple slowly reconnect and be there for one another was beautiful. I can’t wait to see what the other Arrowood men have going on.
One night. No names. 8 Years Ago.
That’s all that Connor and Ellie shared, and yet, neither of them have forgotten the other as they lived through their own personal hell – one serving his country and the other protecting her child at all costs. For eight years, they’ve endured…they’ve battled their demons…they’ve fought for their lives, focusing on what needs to be done above everything else – surviving and moving forward.
Separately, Connor and Ellie have endured more than any one person should be required to and the damage done to them definitely carries over into their present lives, making them what seems to be a shell of the people they could potentially be if they hadn’t suffered at other people’s words and deeds.
I’m so glad that Corinne Michaels wrote Connor and Ellie’s story through both of their perspectives. It would be impossible to convey all of the upheaval they feel and go through without both lending their voice to the events that occur. And while, there were several scenes that were incredibly difficult to read, they were also necessary because it illustrates everything that she and her daughter have gone through, and the way that Michaels crafts their trauma and their terror is incredibly powerful and effectively shows exactly what Ellie is made of and what she’s willing to do to protect her little girl.
I understand why the Arrowood brothers made the pact that they did, but they have to consider the fact that ensuring they are nothing like their father means that they can have the things they want and they aren’t bound to repeat the same mistakes as their dad did when he lost his wife. The possibility of more…of better…of more than existing and holding on to a pact that was made in fear and anger cannot be immediately rescinded, though, which means that certain steps need to be taken and while one brother may see the futility of that pact now that their father is dead, other ones may be holding onto it tightly in order to protect themselves from the what ifs that surround them.
Come Back For Me is an emotionally charged journey. Connor and Ellie have to wade through so much adversity and hold steadfast to the hope that when everything is said and done, they’ll be where they want to be, which is by each other’s side with a sweet little girl who does nothing but bring love and happiness into their lives.
4.5 Poison Apples
OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Another warning we were given by this author that this was a new series of heartbreakers and she was right! The Arrowood Brothers are going to break my heart, but in the best way possible.
Connor is miserable. He is out of the military, has to live on the old farm for six months to fix it up to sell, only remembers his angel and the one night of heaven they had and now she lives next door, with her husband, and her daughter….cue string music.
Ellie has been a lost soul. She has been living in a grief period of time, full of indecision and having no choices. Just when she has a plan, a plan to save herself and her daughter, HE shows up. And the one night they had wasn’t a fluke. And the results will always be in front of her. But she can’t let him mess up her plans. She has to get away.
I absolutely have never read one of the series of Corinne’s that I didn’t completely love. I live with these characters and they become part of my world. I like to think if she can write about them, maybe they really are people like that and the world really is a better place….can’t wait to see the rest of the story….
Move over Liam and Quinn, there is a new man in town! Connor Arrowood has officially stolen my heart and is my new book boyfriend. I seriously can’t get over how amazing this story is. There is something about second chance romance that just gets me every time, this is no different. Ellie and Connor are absolute perfection and I can’t believe how much I loved their story. Their story is one of my favorites. Their chemistry is off the charts and their hearts are full because of each other, but that’s doesn’t come easy and seeing them find their way back? It was perfect.
From page 1 I was smiling because of the banter Connor has with two other favorite SEALs. You giggle, you cry, your heart breaks and it heals with every word you read. I love that this is a series of standalones, I wasn’t sure I was ready for another Michaels cliffhanger, but knowing that it’s a series standalones and book 2 is for Declan? I’m ready for it. I see some sparks flying in the future for Declan and Sydney.
