An emotional mind field.
This is what you would call emotional rolllercoaster, lots of self doubt for both Alyssa and Luke. The manipulation continued only this time Luke is is target. He is being manipulated by both Luke and his ex, Samantha. Luke and Alyssa have a lot to overcome. The amazing chemistry between them is not enough to keep them together, they have to learn to trust each other completely will they make it?
I actually gave up on this one…I just couldn’t figure out the conflict. It seemed manufactured just to have more to write about. Why couldn’t they just be together? Why did she need to live with her friend? I really wanted to see these two find their HEA but the conflict just didn’t keep me engaged.
I had read come undon a while ago and I was completely clueless Crystal wrote 2 more books continuing Ally and Luke’s story. This story begins with Luke and Ally beginning their relationship together after she officially leaves Ryan. But.. Luke’s ex has come back into the picture! This book is raw and full of emotion and is wonderfully written. Going to read book 3 now. Will post updated review of the overall trilogy after book 3. Looking forward to reading whats to come with Ally and Luke.
I enjoyed this book much more than the first. It’s told in Luke’s POV. I don’t know if that made the difference. This book revealed the questions I had from the first book on whether he was vindictive in his chase of Alyssa. Luke feels guilty about his ex’s bad luck and circumstance. He has done so much for her that he really has no reason to feel guilty. I understand the need to help others and you feel like a failure yourself if you don’t help them. Alyssa, not knowing her inner thoughts, handled this complication very well. This has a happy ending and I enjoyed this book the best out of the series.
I received an advanced copy of this manuscript and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This is the second book in the Come Undone Series. Love that this is written from Luke’s point of view. Alyssa and Luke are great together. I really like Alyssa because she fights so hard to overcome her eating disorder. She is very strong, loving and compassionate. Luke is a super sweetheart.
Then there’s Samantha. She is Luke’s ex-girlfriend. She going thru a tough time. She demands more and more of Luke’s time. She tells him that he is her best friend but Alyssa sees right thru to selfish, manipulative person Sam really is. The story continues from there and we learn about the struggles between the three of them.
Great story. The characters are all well defined and interesting. The book was easy to read and very entertaining. I enjoy Crystal Kaswell’s writing and would definitely recommend this series to a romance fan.
Alyssa and Luke have to navigate through their new relationship after the unpredictable way it started. Their exes continue to complicate everything at every corner.
Must read Come Undone first
I received an advanced copy of this manuscript and am voluntarily leaving an honest review. When we see Alyssa and Luke again, we get a glimpse of what they have been up to and how their new relationship is going. But, now Luke’s ex fiancé is coming around and causing issues. Will this new development tear them apart or bring them even closer together? I definitely recommend the second part of this trilogy.
Come Apart is book two in the Come Undone trilogy by Crystal Kaswell. Luke and Alyssa’s lovestory continues in this amazing continuation of the series. There is drama, angst, and steam in this book. These characters have some challenges to face, inner demons to slay, insecurities to address, communication skills to hone, and threats to their relationship to overcome. I am all in for going along on their journey.
Come Apart by Crystal Kaswell is book Two in the Come Undone Series. This continues the story of story of Alyssa and Luke, so I do feel you should read the previous book first book “Come Undone”. Alyssa in the last book had to choose between Luke and Ryan along with dealing some really hard issue. Now Luke and Alyssa are together trying to learn their way around each other and their feelings when Luke’s ex Samantha shows up. Samantha is very manipulative toward Luke which of course causes issue between Alyssa and Luke. So the tables are turned in this book.
This series deals with a lot of issues along with mental heath. For me it was a page turner.
This is the second book in the Come Undone series. Alyssa has finally found peace with Luke, but the one thing she won’t do is share him, and that is exactly what Samantha wants to do. His ex-fiancee, the one who cheated with his father, said she loved him more than Luke and went to be with Edward just before he dropped dead of a heart attack, has still got Luke listed as her emergency contact. And considering she has tried to kill herself several times, Luke has a certain amount of guilt associated with this relationship. But Alyssa knows that Samantha is still in love with Luke and isn’t willing to let him go – despite her proclamations to the contrary – and she will do anything to keep Luke in her life. But Luke can’t see this and until he cuts ties with Samantha, Alyssa isn’t willing to be all in. Told from Luke’s point of view, he can appreciate the turmoil that Alyssa went through with Ryan in book 1.
Come Apart is the sequel to Come Undone and continues the journey of Alyssa and Luke. Alyssa gains confidence as she continues to work on herself and overcoming her eating disorder. Luke adores Alyssa and wants to be there for her but struggles with his guilty need to support his ex, Samantha. Luke and Alyssa have a deep connection, but Samantha is always using manipulation to get Luke’s attention. Will Alyssa continue to be understanding when Luke continues to drop everything, including her, when Samantha says she needs him? Will Luke every see Samantha as the manipulative person she is? Will Luke finally walk away from Samantha before he loses Alyssa? Why does Luke stay at the law firm with Ryan, Alyssa’s ex? I love Crystal Kaswell! Come Apart is a great book that has drama, manipulation, steam, and emotional overload. I would definitely recommend getting Come Apart by Crystal Kaswell. Crystal Kaswell is a MUST read author for this reader. I received an ARC of this book, and I am leaving my honest review.
This is the second book in the come undone series and can be read as a stand alone but for a better understanding of this series I recommend reading the first book . This was a emotional book and different from any book that I’ve read by Crystal Kaswell . This was from Lukes POV and was emotional heartbreaking and a beautiful read. I loved Alyssa and Luke they were both damaged souls and i think were perfect for each other. This was a refreshing change of pace by Crystal Kaswell and I really enjoyed this new journey she took us on . The story and characters were well developed and the chemistry between Luke and Alyssa was so HOT and steamy some of the scenes were on fire . The drama increases between Luke and his ex Samantha and we find out the whole story about them two , this was overall a beautiful and steamy emotional read.
***I voluntarily reviewed an advanced complimentary copy of this book***
Come Apart is book 2 in the Come Undone trilogy and you should really read Come Undone before reading this book to get a full comprehension of the characters and backstory. I loved Come Undone and understood a lot of the angst and back and forth that Luke and Alyssa experienced to finally be together. In Come Undone I loved Luke and got frustrated by Alyssa’s delays in admitting her feelings for him however Come Apart completely changed how I felt about the characters and story. Luke and Alyssa are finally in a great place in their relationship and his ex-fiancé comes back into his life to cause issues between them. I got very frustrated with how long Luke let Samantha manipulate him and come between him and Alyssa, especially with how much he actually dislikes her. I was able to sympathize with Alyssa more in this book but I still found her to be immature as a character because she refuses to communicate and she has a lot of insecurities.
Overall I liked this book but it was not my favorite from Crystal Kaswell and I felt that Come Undone was a much stronger book than this. I am eager for the 3rd book to see how the relationship progresses and hopefully to see the characters mature and get beyond all of their communication issues. I received and advanced copy of this book for an honest review.
Emotionally charged heartbreak
Come Apart (Come Undone Trilogy Book 2) by Crystal Kaswell is another remarkably well written romance that has blown me away with these characters, their flaws and emotional baggage.
I love how this author can create a single point of view story and make it such a well rounded book for the reader. Her characters are extremely real and completely relatable through the character’s self talk as well as the amazing dialogue. Often witty, frequently honest and at times sensitive or serious. The plot of this book is a continuation of the first book, Come Undone, but with a twist in that the focus is on Luke rather an Allyssa. While the romance continues, it’s not all hearts and flowers. Luke has some real issues as well as a manipulative antagonist creating havoc for their happy ending.
Overall, a very well written book in this trilogy that has me anticipating the conclusion with the happily for now ending. I just know there’s more unresolved or new drama yet to be revealed in the conclusion.
I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.
