***Paul went and got it all right
There is nothing worse than small town nosy busybodies all up in everyone’s business. They think that their happiness is everyone else’s too. Oh they just erk me the wrong way.
That’s what happens in Come and get it. This couple just wants to be happy, live their life and for everyone to mind their own lives.
So glad this couple had their HEA. I believe in second chances especially if the guy has paid his dues to society.
I read an advanced copy of this book.
Wooooowwwwww, just wow….this book literally smoldered from the first chapter. And when I say smoldered, I mean hot af….I was like, whew, is it getting hot in here, because I was sure my kindle was burning up.
He is getting out of prison, she is the judge that put him there and he is coming for her. These two were so hot and I loved all their bedroom shenanigans. What started out as a one-night stand, quickly became so much more. Since their in a small town, where new spreads like wildfires, they have to unite and beat the odds.
This was a safe read, no om or ow drama. Hot af, baby batter, lots of dirty talking. They may or may not get caught in “compromising” positions many times *winks*. A little pushing away…for about a hot second. We get to see past character favorites from previous books. Epilogues, plural, and an hea. This was a great ending to a great series. Thank you Abby Knox for letting me be a part of that.
We first met Paul in Take Me Home (bk 1) but in that book he went by the name ‘Chet’.
7 years later and a prison sentence behind him, Paul is a changed man and ready to finally set things straight and to apologize to those he had wronged. But living in a small town makes it impossible for anyone to see him as the changed man that he is and not the screw up he was before. The only one’s who see him as a different man are Drea and Jackson. Which is ironic because Drea is the judge who sentenced him 7 years ago and Jackson is the man he harassed and is also married to the woman he wronged in so many ways over the years.
Drea is the youngest county judge to be elected in their small town. While she may be a judge and see the worst that people can be, she also believes in second chances and allowing people clean slates once they’ve served their time. Paul, is a different kind of person than the normal people she is usually sentencing. She’s found a kindred spirit in Paul and over the years they’ve exchanged fantasies that they are all too happy to play out when the time comes for Paul to walk out of prison a free man.
But in a sometimes a small town comes with small minded people who don’t believe a person can change. Everyone is happy to express their opinions and disgust that an honorable judge like Drea would be an ex-con. With reelection coming up, will Drea allow everyone’s opinions to influence her relationship with Paul?
This was a cute story and an okay end to the Small Town Bachelor Series.
If I had a complaint it would be about the person trying to blackmail the judge with the letters Paul and Drea wrote to each other. Who was it? What happened to him?
