WOMEN HAVEN’T BEEN HIRED TO WORK IN MY BAR FOR A REASON: they’re too tempting and too distracting—too much of a liability—even if they are good for business… have completely given up on.I’ve already had my love and now that’s gone; there’s no need to try again. Even if love is staring me right in the face with a pair of deep brown eyes and no expectations.
WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT SHAW O’SULLIVAN?He’s rude, abrasive, sexy—and my boss. He’s also broken in ways I would never have seen if I hadn’t been looking. Which means he should be off limits; my heart and body cannot handle his baggage. I’m on a quest to find myself, and Shaw O’Sullivan will only get in my way and drag me down.
Where I’m light, he’s dark. We don’t mix and neither of us is looking for love, so what happens when it finds us anyway?

COME AGAIN (French Quarter Collection, #2) . . . We are back in the French Quarter. The Come Again bar highlights this second installment to the series. I found myself drawn to Shaw when we first meet him towards the end of book one of the series. There was something about his directness that had you wanting to look a little closer at him.
Avery and Shaw were just the right mix of opposite that each needed in their life at this point and time. With each new interaction you were waiting for something more to happen. Then right there in your face it was. Being at the Come Again was in itself an experience. There was heartbreak, tears, fears, trust, understanding, and second chances for those willing to take it by the horns and move forward. There were a mix of secondary characters that made for wonderful interactions.
Avery going back home allowed for new possibilities. I would have loved to seen grandma in NOLA. I look forward to what will be disclosed about Avery and Shaw in the next installment. I most certainly got myself a full story and then some.
I owe thanks to Loretta Rawlings & Eric Michael Summerer. They gave a new layer of dimension to the characters. They gave that extra to the characters through narration of the story, tone, pitch, variation and sense of familiarity. Jiffy Kate put together a comforting romance with an older man and younger woman. It did not feel like the typical older man romance. Thank you.

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Jiffy Kate. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.
I loved this book!! This book gave me so many feels! I want so much more of Shaw and Avery. This book hooked me from the very beginning! I couldn’t put it down! It was a fast paced read with no long out unnecessary drama. Loved it so much!! I would absolutely recommend this book!!
This was the first Jiffy Kate book I’ve read and I was definitely not disappointed. Avery Cole is trying to escape an abusive relationship, find herself, and make it on her own a new city. Shaw O’Sullivan is simply trying to live his life without living in the past too much. This book has it all, tragedy, unfortunate life circumstances, boss/employee relationship, plenty of angst, and more. I adore Avery and her determination no matter her situation. Shaw made me so angry a couple of times I had to put the book down and come back to it later once I regained control. I may have even had a few tears. The only thing I would have changed was the last argument they had, I was hoping for a little more angst, not so quick to forgive. I may or may not be a masochist, they had clearly been through and overcome enough to get their HEA. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will be going back to the beginning and reading everything they’ve written.
i love Avery and Shaw .love how you can feel the character emotion and feeling thru out the book. love how Avery is a strong and keep going ahead with what she want to do and she head strong .. this is a read book ..hurry and get it you wont regret it .
Come Again had all the makings of a good age gap romance. Old man, younger woman, bar owner, angst and hot sizzling chemistry between the H/h made this a good romance and story. Both Shaw and Avery are damaged tortured souls. But there’s also an attraction of light vs. dark, which always makes for a great couple. Those bad attitude men always make for the best hero’s, don’t they? This couple sizzled and created quite a hot mess of desire. Another good story to add to my arsenal
OMFG!! WOW! WOW!! COME AGAIN threw me into a World of Words with an Emotional journey that will Squeeze your Heart dead but it will Harden quickly. It was Beautifully Epically Written and such a Rollercoaster ride of Emotional distress and Heartwreching Aches that will Leave you wanting what’s going to happen Next! I Could Not Put It in Down and devour it in ONE Sitting since there is So much Adventure and Passion that Have you guessing.
And did I mention that the setting is placed in New Orleans just like Blue Bayou!! YES!
Definitely Must Read Book with its Heartwreching Aches and pains!! A Big Fan of Jiffy Kate and looking forward to More!!
Avery and Shaw’s story was light v dark in all the ways that could be. Avery’s character was brave, strong and fearless. She needed to get out of a bad situation and was determined to change her life and worked her tail off. Shaw’s character was a little dark and moody, but there was so much more to him under the surface. He loved deeply. Not only his family and his business but also his fellow human. I really admired that trait about him, and how he and Avery got a second chance at finding something special. I enjoyed reading about the New Orleans life and would love to visit someday.
Come Again is the second book I have read by the writing duo Jiffy Kate and it was even better than the first one! You briefly see Shaw in the book Blue Bayou but you don’t have to read that one to read this amazing story. Shaw is a brooding bar owner down in New Orleans who has had more than his share of heartbreak. Avery is running from an abusive ex whom she thought was the love of her life. Both these characters have damaged pasts that they need to heal from. They just might be able to heal together if they let themselves. This story will really pull at your heart strings and have you rooting for them from start to finish! You can’t help but love both Avery and Shaw and hope that they will be able to heal enough to find the love they deserve. Once again these authors have created a love story in the amazing city of New Orleans that you won’t be able to put down.
Avery leaves a bad situation and doesn’t want to head home. She wants to reclaim herself, get back to the real her. There is a place she has always wanted to see; New Orleans and it is love at first site. Determined to make a life here, she needs a job. A bar called Come Again with a help wanted sign should be perfect. Too bad the owner Shaw refuses to hire women. Shaw’s life is a painful one and his demeanor reflects it. Hard, grumpy and closed off, he tries to get Avery off his mind. When she comes back and calls him on his attitude. He hires her and that one act will change both their lives.
Come Again is a slow burn romance that caused more than a few tears and a time a two where I had to walk away for a bit. Seriously well written, Shaw and Avery are so real and bruised by the hand of fate. The circumstances that brought them together in this moment are hard at times to take. There are no quick fixes for their problems and that made it all the more emotional for me. The path to happy ever after is bumpy but it is so worth it! The city of New Orleans is always a great backdrop for any book and this one was no exception. I was very impressed with Jiffy Kate, this was my first book by this duo but it won’t be the last. If you like K. Street or A.L. Jackson, you need to check out Come Again.
This book is wonderful. I couldn’t put it down. Avery is in a relationship that isn’t what it once was and the moment something happens she’s out of there. Driving and landing in New Orleans is the best. Tho it did take her time to get settled but once she fought for a job at the Come Again Bat and seeing Shaw everything changed but for Shaw it took a lot longer. See Shaw is an old man than Avery but has had a love so strong and was taken away from him. When Avery walk through the door and demanded a job he gave her one but kept all the walls up until slowly things changed for him. It’s a lot to go through when a love one passes on. Will Shaw get it together? Will Avery truly know what love is? You’ve got to read this book to know.
This is the first book I’ve read by Jiffy Kate, and I loved it. This emotional story has you feeling so many emotions. You laugh, cry, get frightened, all while falling in love with Avery & Shaw. They each had their emotional baggage, but learned to deal with it and learn to trust and love each other. This it’s a must read! I definitely will be reading more of their books!
This second chance book was just out of this world amazing. It is everything that I look for in a book, laughter, hot and steamy sex scenes with a little bit of emotion. I absolutely looved this book.
Such s great book absolutely love it highly recommend
Such a sweet book. Avery came to NO to start a new life after an abusive ex. She stumbles upon broody Shaw. Working in his bar she becomes more attracted to him . He’s getting over the wife he lost. Cute story
Very unique and original story. I loved every minute of this book. I especially loved that Avery didn’t stay in her abusive relationship once her boyfriend hit her for the first time; she was strong and made the right decision to leave right away and she never once thought about taking him back. That showed a lot of strength and maturity on her part. Shaw’s story was heartbreaking and gut clenching. It made me cry however Shaw and Avery were made for each other. They both deserve all the happiness that they got from each other. Fantastic book and highly recommended.
I have never bought a book based on it’s cover, but this could be the hottest one……ever. I am so thankful the book lived up to the cover. Jiffy Kate are now one of my favorite writing duos. Shaw is so damaged and won’t even consider the possibility of love in is life. Avery is a strong, determined women, strong enough to escape abuse and determined to help him heal, whether he wants to or not. The book moves quickly, flawlessly, and with plenty of angst to go around. This is one of my favorite reads….ever!!
Avery just left a situation that made her flee. She had no destination at first but found herself in new orleans. When she went looking for a job she meets Shaw. Shaw owns a bar and his one rule is, no women work there. He has a poor attitude and has a rough demeanor. Somehow avery gets to him and changes his mind. This books take you on a journey of recoveribg from loss, from hurt and finding themselves again.
This book took me on a roller coaster of emotions. It was so very good! It was a great story of getting a second chance at love. It was gut wrenching at times and full of drama. Now I hope they write more about the other characters in this book.
This is the third book Ive read by Jiffy Kate and I am a fan!
This book was about Avery and Shaw. We met Shaw in Blue Bayou briefly. I am so glad he got his own book. He is a complicated man, he runs hot and cold, though he had a tragedy in the more recent past-so he guards his heart.
Avery is just the woman to break through his walls (maybe). Avery is a strong woman and there are many times in this book that she lets Shaw have it–and he needs it. This book does a great job of backstory and present.
I hope there are going to be more books in this series, I’d love to see a Sarah/Paulie book and a CeCe/Shepard book.
Wow this book will shatter you these characters when I read this book I had tears only bc I have a sister with a drug problem. But Avery comes into Shaw’s bar looking for a job after her ex hits her and cheats. Shaw is not a unicorn skittle loving guy he has a dark heart bc of his past and hiring a women is a no! But there’s something about Avery! Avery and Shaw have chemistry that can’t be denied will he let her in?
