The army taught me to kill.Every flex of hard earned muscle was for my country. I didn’t need shit else except my rifle, my brothers, and the enemy. I was born to fight. Then the military cut me loose.Civilian life. Two words dirtier than the bloodshed downrange. I didn’t want my freedom.I wanted my goddamn purpose back. I wanted my government issued rifle in my hands. I wanted to taste the grit … hands. I wanted to taste the grit of foreign soil. I wanted to fight until I drew my last breath…
Then she crossed in front of my path—carrying our child.

This book has many good laughs.
I think everyone should go into reading this book with the awareness that there is a graphic torture and implied rape. Does it advance the story, was it necessary? The answer is NO! Rape and torture is not a plot device. If you are going write about it, then do so with the sensitivity that is owed to victims.
There were only a few pages dealing with the aftermath before the author threw a happy ending at us. If you are writing a book that includes PTSD then do it respect and put the time in it.
At the very least this book should have warning because many could be triggered by this.
TOO MUCH F- WORD!!! Not everyone talks like that. This could have been a BEAUTIFUL love story WITHOUT the AWFUL language. The ONLY reason I finished it was because I was curious to see how it ended!! There were a couple of surprises that shocked me, so I was glad I finished it for that reason but the language is AWFUL!!! Thank goodness it was a standalone with a HEA!!!
