Billionaire protectors. They’ll risk their lives to protect the woman in jeopardy. But will they risk their hearts? When the ex-wife scientist Colt Jarvis assumed left him for another man returns, his attraction to her flares. But he can’t trust her. During their brief marriage, she kept way too many secrets. She still does. For the past year, they’ve only seen each other during her visits to … during her visits to their children.
Fiercely independent security expert Mirabella Jarvis didn’t choose to leave her husband and children. An accident followed by years of amnesia weren’t part of her plan. Slowly, she’s picking up the pieces of her old life, including rebuilding the trust of her twins again. Her husband’s trust is far tougher to gain, especially as he never trusted her in the first place.
When the serial killer who almost murdered her once before threatens her life, Colt will do whatever it takes to keep her safe. Even if it means falling in love with her all over again.

She’s back. He thought she had abandoned him with her children and made the best of the situation. She showed up just in time to save him. Now she’s tracking a killer. No one seems to agree with her but she has to finish things. While there is still plenty of action and suspense, the real story is them. As they review their relationship each realizes their part in it’s failure. This is their second chance and while they both know they have feelings they have to work through their past to have a future, if they can survive. Love this story that not only brings these two back together but also renews their faith. As they re-learn to trust in God they find each other in ways they never allowed before. Love this clean read that relies on a well told story with strong characters and the strength, clarity and love that comes from God.
I’m not sure whether I would call this series more mystery or suspense. They are definitely romantic with a huge dose of action! Colt, like Brett, takes you on a wild ride. As you embark on an adventure with Colt and Mirabella solving murder mysteries, trying to figure out WHO DONE IT-or if there’s actually more than one murderer on the loose, you also join them in the mystery of who exactly Colt and Mirabella truly are, personally. Mirabella has been keeping secrets and hiding who she is for so long that she has to discover who God created her to be before she can experience the love that is meant to be shared in a marriage. Colt is a wonderful hero who learns to selflessly love his ex-wife as he surrenders his heart to Christ. This is a beautiful and encouraging love story that leaves you DYING to read David-the next Billionaire Protectors book. This is a series that I will be reading over and over again.
This well-written book has it all–mystery, suspense, romance, a billionaire, and cute twins! Alexa Verde and Autumn MacArthur put them all together to give their readers an excellent and entertaining story. There are issues of trust and forgiveness. Through the well-developed characters, the reader sees good and bad ways to deal with those issues. There is a great HEA. I highly recommend this book and definitely plan to read more in this series and more by these authors. I have a copy through KU.
As Brett’s story ended, I was hoping that this would be the storyline for Colt’s. While this story does stand alone, I highly suggest reading Brett as there are a lot of tie ins. We get a brief mention of things here, but just go read Brett first.
I super enjoyed this second chance romance with danger and murder and reconciliation.
What a wonderful story so full of suspense. This was definitely a page turner. I love the second chance at love for Colt & Mirabella. You could tell that they still loved each other. This is absolutely a must read series. You will not be disappointed.
Mirabella has faced death and survived. She faced down a murderer and lived, but she paid a high price. Finally she’s back and working to reconcile with her children and her Ex. Can they put the past behind them and get a second chance? I admired how determined Mirabella is to protect her family. She wants them safe, but she’s still not sure the murder of her best friend has been solved. I admired her courage. She has made herself a target. I wanted her to let Colt help her. She needs to let down her walls. These two work well together. If only they can learn to open their hearts. Colt wants to protect her, but she needs her independence. Why is it so hard to be honest and tell each other what they need? This bothered me. Colt was a good caring man. It was touching how he loved the twins. The story was a clean Christian romance that kept me on the edge of my seat. It was easy to care about the characters. The dialogue was powerful and the suspense was intense. The ending was a shock. I didn’t see it coming. Billionaire Protectors is a feel good series. Alexa Verde and Autumn Macarthur have an exciting writing style that kept me entertained.
Colt, Billionaire Reunion is an awesome, suspenseful, second chance romance. Colt and his ex-wide, Mirabella, still have chemistry but they have both been hurt. Mirabella has slowly been rebuilding trust with the twins. When it appears that the Daisy Killer is once again after Mirabella, Colt realizes he would do anything to protect her. They must learn to let go of mistrust and guilt, trust in God, communicate and learn to work together. I could not put this book down. The suspense is so well done and certainly kept me guessing as to the guilty party. Do not miss this second book in the Billionaire Protectors series if you like clean romance with lots of suspense.
I thought I was signing up for a different author’s ARC, when I asked to read this story. However, it has turned out to be the right book by the right author!
This story has romance, action, and mystery!
Mirabella is a woman who is driven to save the lives of others, even if it ruins or even takes her own. As she strives to find a serial killer, her work and her secrets put a wedge in her marriage, especially since she was gone for so long after suffering amnesia and other problems when tragedy befalls her.
Colt grew up with a father who had anger issues, and Colt stuffs all of his emotions away in an attempt to be different. This however makes the problems and fears fester. When his feelings come out his biting accusations and his decisions after Mirabella disappeared might spell the end of their relationship.
Both have to learn to be honest and forgiving with each other and to rely on the Lord to take care of the rest. If they don’t, more than a marriage might be at stake.
I received this book as an ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.
“And then he knew what he needed to do. Love her with her scars, both the ones that showed and the ones that didn’t. Not despite the scars, with them.”
I didn’t read the first book in the Billionaire Protectors and I wish I had prior to reading this second book in the series. The plot seemed to have a lot of backstory and details from the past scattered throughout the book and I wasn’t sure if the author was rehashing what happened in the first book or actually giving new details to make more sense of what Mirabella had gone through. Despite my confusion regarding Mirabella and Colt’s past events and the sequence of them, the present day danger, suspense, and rekindling of romance are quite delightful. They have grown in the last few years apart and though they are legally divorced, they begin to see what it means to be in a committed relationship and marriage. Their past hurts and experiences cloud their judgment and outlook but both realize that with God, they can overcome their fears even as Mirabella hunts down her best friend’s killer. I definitely need to go back and read Brett’s story so that I can fully enjoy David’s story when it releases late October.
I received a copy of the book from the author and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.
If you want suspense that keeps you guessing to the end, plus a good dose of chemistry this book is for you. Add in amnesia, divorce, a serial killer, a set of precocious twins, and you have the perfect storm to test the depths of love.
Mirabella is independent, tough and badly scarred. Colt is smart, calm, a great dad, but doesn’t trust easily. Divorced after only six months of marriage, and separated for five years, will they be able to find common ground before it’s too late? Can they catch a killer in time to get a second chance together?
This book examines the openness it takes to make a relationship work. It explores honesty, trust, communication and forgiveness.
Great book! I was given a copy courtesy of the author and this is my honest review.
This Christian, romantic suspense has it all. There are secrets, omissions, guilt, a man dubbed the Daisy Killer, cute twins and a romantic pair of exes who still have feelings for each other.
I really enjoyed this fast paced, action packed story about Mirabelle Jarvis trying to catch her best friend’s murderer. There were so many twists and turns making it hard to figure out if Mirabelle will ever solve the case as a private investigator. It was also nice to see her ex, Colt help her too but not get in her way. Add in Mirabelle’s two precocious twins, Kitty and Corbin from her first marriage, who were adopted by Colt when she married him and you have quite a story. They are so cute trying to get their parents back together.
It is also a story of communication and forgiveness of oneself for Mirabelle and forgiving Colt too for what happened when she returned. It is a two sided street for Colt too. It is a chance for both of them to tell their deepest secrets and fears so they can really love each other.
I enjoyed how they turned to their faith and God to show them the way and for help in solving the case. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Colt has softened a bit towards Mirabella, but still doesn’t trust her. Thankfully the twins, Corbin and Kitty, have warmed up towards her again. When it appears the Daisy Killer is back, or a copycat at least, Mirabella is in a race to figure out who it is, before she becomes a victim. Colt is determined to stay by her side. Love the healing between these two as we get to know them better and the twins and still adorable and add an element of fun and mischievous to the story. Not as quite as much action packed suspense as the first one, but still plenty to draw you in and trying to figure out who done it. We see many characters from the first book (or they are mentioned), but also get an introduction to Aster and some people who were impacted by the Daisy Killer. Loving this collaborative effort of these two authors and looking forward to the next one, David.
Early release copy provided by the author, but I also purchased my own copy. No review was required and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
A really good mystery full of suspense as well as romance. Colt and Mirabella are finally working together to solve the murders. A really good twist. Loved their children.
It took me a little while to get into this story. The connection between Colt and Mirabella is so strong I just wanted them to kiss already and realize they still loved each other. Still, the book was full of mystery and suspense and lots of sizzling chemistry. It’s good they held out as it made their story so much sweeter, even if it was frustrating at times. A beautiful second chance story.
Four star rated book! Love this one. Very exciting and interesting.
When I heard there was a new series by Alexa Verde and Autumn Macarthur I knew I needed to read it! This is the second book in the series of three young men who would risk their lives to protect those they love. It’s a story full of suspense, action, and drama, with a bit of romance thrown in.
Colt Jarvis is a man who has it all and the brains to go with it, but one thing he’s lacking is trust in the woman who he gave his heart to. Mirabella Jarvis is a woman with many secrets and a difficult past, which she couldn’t remember because of amnesia. However, now her memories are back and everything she feared is happening again.
This story has some very intense times of, “who really is the bad guy.” I love books which will keep you wondering if you’re right about who you’ve decided the bad guy is. Then when you find out you have to pick your mouth up from the floor!
Now, let’s not forget the cuteness of Kitty and Corbin, the twins. Their banter and sneaky ways are so endearing.
The authors are wonderful writers and know how to keep you guessing and on the seat of your chair. They also have a skill in teaching us life lessons through their characters. One of the lessons I learned in this book was about trust. The trust we need to have in God and the trust we need to have in each other. So often we let our past destroy our thinking and our communication with those we love. When we open up and share our hurts and concerns, many times it brings about healing.
I’ll say this again, I highly recommend reading this book if you like a bit of suspense, cuteness, and a whole lot of heat! You can’t go wrong with this book and you’ll be waiting on pins and needles for the next one to come out, just like me!
I received this book from the authors for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
This is a well written book. It has action, suspense and romance. It’s a story about second chances, forgiveness and learning to trust again.
This is Colts story, the second in the Billionaire Protectors series by the dynamic duo of Alexa Verde and Autumn Macarthur. We met Colt in the first book. He’s a scientist with a past of heartache and trust issues. His ex-wife Mirabella also has similar issues. We met her the end of the last book also. This is their story. Can they learn to love and find trust in each other but also God?
It’s thier wonderful story with suspense and sure turns I didn’t see coming. I devoured it in about 2 days. Please read and enjoy their journey. Looking forward to reculuse David’s story next. Thank you Alexa and Autumn for what you do. Blessings.
A delightful story about Colt, Brett’s brother who is reunited with his ex-wife, Mirabella who disappeared several years ago only to reappear last year when Colt went missing. As they are getting reacquainted and Mirabella is restarting her private investigations business, she starts getting Daisys and threats reminiscent of the case she was working on when she disapeared. Did the Daisy serial killer not die in the accident years before, was it a copy cat or someone else? Would Colt be able to help keep Mirabella safe while they tried to find out who it was? Would he be able to rebuild trust and faith again in their relationship or be a family again? Read this amazing story from to remarkable authors – Alexa Verde and Autumn Macarthur.
I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
I loved this second-chance-romance!
It’s got a bit of action, suspense, romance, mischief, and learning to trust and forgive.
