Celebrate the joyful hope of the Christmas season as characters find healing in the midst of heartbreak. New from Olivia Newport! Christmas in Blue In the wake of a personal loss deeper than anyone realizes, Angela plans to bypass as much of the season as possible and get through her duties as the church organist by going on autopilot. Instead, she finds herself in charge of the town’s … finds herself in charge of the town’s celebration. After a mysterious young man arrives, townspeople suspect he is the reason that one set of plans after another disintegrate until little is left of their traditions. Yet Angela warms to Gabe because she suspects they share a secret–his real reason for coming to town. Even when all they have to work with is a garish supply of blue Christmas decorations, Gabe helps Angela discover the hidden beauty of hope.
Christmas in Gold
After eighty years, change is nothing new for Astrid. By the time she was twenty, she survived the destructive Nazi regime, caring for her family under brutal circumstances, moving to America, and losing her husband. At forty she was widowed again and left to build a new life with her children. Now, when she faces a move into an assisted living community and meets a young woman on the brink of despair, she resolves to stir up hope through tragedy one more time.

Another great Christmas story book. Loved the characters and their life stories.
Nice Christmas theme stories, pleasant to read during the season, where violence does not abound, thankfully.
Both stories were a good read about real people in real life situations.
The two stories were very different – the first was by turns scary, sad, and full of hope. The second was funny, crazy, and in the end, wonderful .
The Colors of Christmas was very good! I couldn’t wait to see what came next. It wasn’t a story that was predictable, and I enjoyed that.
Made me realize others have struggles. Forging ahead can bring you through in unexpected ways
Enjoyed this book – Kinda true to life of older people
This is two separate short novels about Christmas. In the first Astrid is a woman in her 70’s who has just moved into an assisted living home. She needs therapy for an injury from a fall. Astrid came from Germany years ago having survived life in the Nazi Germany. Her therapist Carly is a single mom who lives with her mother as she hides from a stalker. The ending is very satisfying.
In the second novel Angela lives in a small town that celebrates A Christmas to Remember every year. But Carole who was always in charge and Angela’s best friend passed away. Not the whole celebration falls on Angela’s shoulders. To make everything worse she only has a few days to pull everything together and everytthing is going wrong. The Gabe appears and helps Angela but is it enough help?
Helped put my heart in Christmas.
There are two novellas within this book. The first book–Christmas in Gold, has an ending that isn’t fully developed. Christmas in Blue, the second novella, is much better developed and has a better story line and ending.
This was two wonderful Christmas stories, the first was two side by side stories of an older woman who had survived worn torn Germany and a young woman being stalked by a former co-worker. The second about amwoman who is greiving a friend who has just died, the town who is expected to decorate a whole town. I won’t spoil the outcome, read for yourself
Inspirational and positive reading that no matter what situation you are in there is hope. It was a page turning book. Highly recommend it during this holiday season.
Fun stories
Two beautiful stories that reinforced the love and friendship of Christmas. I enjoyed them thoroughly.
This book contains two wonderful Christmas stories that are about people helping each other and finding/renewing their faith through the experience. They are heart-warming, enjoyable, and refreshing. I highly recommend the book.
Christmas in Gold started slow, but had a good plot. Christmas in Blue started slow and stayed that way. I had a hard time figuring out who was who. Characters were not well defined. Back story could have been explained more. Read to the end hoping to figure out what the point of the book was.
Absolutely wonderful !
I liked both of the main characters in the stories. Left me wanting to know more
This ‘colorful’ view of Christmas was well written. I enjoyed the characters very much.
I loved both of the stories this book contained although wish the first one would have been longer.
