I’m sorry, you can’t have Julian. He’s mine. ALL MINE. I call dibs.
You can read his book, which you should absolutely do because it’s brilliant and fabulous and romantic and heartbreaking and perfect, but he’s still mine.
I really enjoyed Carol Pavliska/Carly Bloom’s rock star romance. The hero, Julian Wheaton, has synesthesia, and it affects his life in multiple ways. It was interesting to read from that aspect, and Pavliska did a great job showing how the crossed-sensory perceptions affected Julian’s life. The heroine is a somewhat jaded former groupie. Their interaction makes for great reading.
Color Me Crazy was the debut book by Carol Pavliska. This is a stand alone rock star romance. Now, Carol is writing as Carly Bloom and I urge you to check her out. Her books are amazing.
Julian Wheaton was a childhood musical prodigy. He did a few years as a rock star but the life style was too much for him. Before it killed him entirely, he walked away. He now lives a very ordered life working in his small recording studio in San Antonio, Texas. Julian is a synesthete. He sees sounds as colors. The problem was when he was overwhelmed or over emotional. Then all the colors would blend together and he would have an episode. It’s a condition he has lived with and struggled with all of his life.
Cleo Compton has a history of falling for rock stars. She’s done with all of that. She wants a stable relationship. When she first met Julian, she didn’t know who he used to be. She just knew him as the sexy and annoying brother of her best friend. Also the guy who rescued her and gave her a job and a place to stay when she needed it. These two were attracted to each other but both fought it until neither of them could deny how they felt any longer.
“He liked predictable. He ordered his life around it. And now Cleo had muddied it all up by barging into his life, and his heart, uninvited.”
Both Cleo and Julian fell hard and fast. Both wanted the other to be happy. And that’s where the miscommunications began. Julian wanted to be everything for Cleo. So he went back on the road with a band. This life didn’t work for him the first time. This time he could handle it, right?!
This book was sweet, sexy, fun and a little upsetting as you experience Cleo and Julian’s journey. Mistakes were definitely made. Big mistakes. Both had skeletons that needed to be dealt with. Together they were so much stronger. They both just needed to find their way. So, if you enjoy sexy, swoony, tattooed guitar players with musical skills that can do crazy things to a woman, this book is for you. And while you are checking this book out, definitely go over to Carly Bloom’s page and check out her books as well!
