LizA bond. A connection. Our difference in color didn’t matter; we were made for each other. A love so strong nothing could come between us—until someone did. Faced with an ultimatum, I made the only decision I could but it was never about skin color, for me. Saying good-bye to him left me in pieces, never to be the same without him. Now, many years later, I am face to face with the man no one … no one could ever compare to. The feelings I’ve pushed aside for him threaten to boil over. I must fight them. I can’t go back. I need to protect my family, myself.
Israel
Here I am, face to face with the one that got away, the one that abandoned me, the one no other woman could measure up to. I still need to know why she left. Did she leave me for her family money? Was it my skin color? She left by choice, leaving me broken. I’ve never been the same without her.
But now that she’s in front of me, I can’t let her get away again. My slightest touch leaves her covered in goose bumps. Liz is using everything she has not to give in. I hope she will. I need her to be mine, to once again be my Buttercup.

I’m over here doing my happy dance with tears flowing down my cheeks!!
Why fight what the heart has wanted all along?? We can’t help who we fall in-love with, when it’s paired with it’s other half to make it whole again nothing else matters. In this case, Liz and Iz know immediately that they have found their other halves but in their case it’s not that simple.
Liz and Iz meet their freshman year of collage at Stanford. Yes it may have taken a bit of time before Liz would even talk to Iz but once she did it was just the beginning.
The last 20 years or so of Liz’s life haven’t been the best. Her mother passed away when her sister, Candy, was only three months old. Three months after that her father remarried to a woman neither girls could stand as she would mentally abuse them constantly. Liz vowed to always protect her sister at all costs even if that meant giving up the one thing she valued and loved the most in life.
Israel “Iz” is a former NFL player for the San Francisco 49ers. His best friend, Langston “Lang” who is also his sports agent, sets up a meeting with a new sports lawyer who takes Iz for a surprise. After 15 years of no contact from Liz she is now standing in front of him in her new office.
Will what happened in the past between Liz and Iz hinder their second chance or will they be able to work through things that happened and face a future together??
This is probably book #5 that I have read by Leigh Lennon and I absolutely LOVED it!! It was hysterical at times, made me cry and kept me turning each page to see what was going to happen next. I can’t wait to see what she has next for us in this series!! Thank you Leigh for another amazing story!! I truly am a fan for life now!!
Color Blind was a good slow burn with enough twists to keep you on your toes. From the beginning you are rooting for Iz and Liz to share everything with each other and grow beyond a past of racism, distrust and money. I really enjoyed this book and didnt want to put it down.
I love a good sports romance. I love a good second chance romance! And I love me some forbidden love! . Iz and Liz are the perfect 2nd chance couple. So many things happened to tear them apart, and keep them apart! Liz had a controlling father who uses the love she has for her sister to keep her in line. . Liz has so much to come clean about before they can start again. She just wants to know that he trusts her before she tells him. There are so many twists in this story it really kept my interest! I kept wanting to know what was going to happen next!
Leigh has taken a very touchy subject and told the story. She did a fantastic job of telling the story with out being offensive. LOVED the story of Iz and Liz!
Omg. This book. Iz and Liz have such a sweet, sad, upsetting love story. They meet at a young age and things happen to keep them from each other. It breaks your heart.
Time passes and they run Into each other. They immediately pick up where they left off, but too many secrets have come to light. As their story continues, secrets are fold and misunderstandings are cleared.
This book melted my heart. Iz is such a sweet man who is protective and loving regardless of the circumstances. Liz is a total head strong female who doesn’t want to be taken care of. One of my favorite characters. I adored every word of this book and devoured it in one sitting.
It also takes a pretty delicate subject and brings it to your attention in a very tasteful, respectful way. I loved how it didn’t matter at all what their skin color was, the love they felt is what mattered. This is how love should be.
Liz and Iz met in college and after becoming friends they became a couple. Liz knew her family would not approve of her relationship but she didn’t see skin color she just knew the love they had for one another. When she breaks up with Iz after dating for a year he assumes that she chose her family’s money over him. When they meet by chance 16 years later can they forgive each other?
This story breaks you heart as you learn all the things Liz went through that separated her from Iz. Israel suffered from their break up as well but he had the support of his loving family to help him.
Leigh Lennon writes such emotional stories. She makes you feel everything right along with her characters. Color Blind was no different. Even if you have never dealt with prejudice you fall so in love with Liz and Iz that you hurt for them. This story is told from both POV and goes back and forth from past to present. This way you really get into their heads. Absolutely love Leigh Lennon’s work and highly recommend you grab one of her books and start reading!
There’s just so much to this interesting and unique story that may be a bit uncomfortable for some to read but it is so significant and relevant. This is my first book by Leigh Lennon and I’m looking forward to reading more from her. Next in the series is Rules of Submission and I’m looking forward to it!
Liz met the love of her life when she was in college. For a year, Iz was her life, they made plans for the future, and loved every single moment they were together. Until Liz was forced to let Iz go. Now, years later, Liz and her sister are starting over. Out from under her father’s thumb, Liz is now just focused on getting their firm up and running and for that they need clients. When the first agent to bring his biggest client in the door, Liz is determined to land this client… until she sees that the client is Iz. Fate has given them a second chance, will the two grab a hold and never let go again? Or is it too late for the two to figure out things and work on future?
This was a good read that had some really surprising twists. Drama, steamy naughty bits, and a bit of danger all rolled up into a nice story. I give this 4 stars.
This was such a great story. There were a lot of issues wrapped up in this book, so many surprises. I love that Iz and Liz got there second chance. I love the story building with Lang and Candy. This book will definitely keep your interest until the very last page!
Really great start to a wonderful series! I loved Liz and Iz! Second chance, full of misunderstandings and growth and learning from our mistakes. And Liz’s parents! What an awful bunch! Makes you that much happier for these two when they get their well earned HEA! Loved the tension, the familiar push and pull, just a great story and start to a great introduction to a group your sure to grow attached to!
This book is so many things – raw, real, captivating. Liz and Iz will hold a special place in my heart for a long time to come. Romance books that deal race don’t come along very often and rarely are they as well written as this one. My heart broke for Liz as she struggled to do right by the one person who deserved it most, much to her own unhappiness. Leigh Lennon certainly excelled giving us a story that demanded to be read, so much so that I couldn’t put it down and read it in one sitting!
A second chance read, by a new author for me. I found the book to be a quick read. The book touched on some hard subjects, secrets and family hatred. Overall it was a good book, although I am not a huge fan of books that jump constantly from present day to the past. For me that take some of the joy out of the telling of a story.
What an emotional ride!
This is my first book by Leigh Lennon and it has left me breathless!! The love between Liz and Iz leaps off the pages and steals your heart. This book touches on every emotion with the heartbreak that was endured, secrets that were kept, but finally breaking through to the love only two joined souls could find. Love a good second chance at love stories and this one is at the top of my list.
This book is an amazing read. The storyline is powerful, emotional and moving. The characters are likable, share such a beautiful emotional connection and steamy chemistry. This book blew me away. The emotional intensity is very high and you will find yourself completely immersed in Liz and Iz’s romance. Heartwarming and yet so heartbreaking, the journey that these two have to take on the road to their HEA will put your emotions through the ringer. Filled with sweetness, drama, passion, betrayal, pain, heartbreak, stunning secrets, shocking twists and a love strong enough to weather the storm. This poignant love story will make you smile, laugh and cry. It will make you angry that hate always seems to be lurking and totally horrified at the things it will make people do. I felt so much for both these characters. Iz is such an awesome guy and if once or twice he made me mad, in the end I could understand and he more than made up for it. As for Liz, my heart cracked in two for her. The pain, the guilt, the sacrifice, the terrible choices she had to make and the things she suffered were so terrible. I can’t even put all my feelings into words. A wonderful read that stuns, entertains and will touch your heart. This is a book that I don’t think I will ever forget. It is a five star read and well deserving of a place on your keeper shelf.
I liked that this book was about an interracial couple and it talked about what is still very real in this world of interracial couples. I also like that with the bigot and racist comments she never once wrote the N word but insinuated that was someone was saying.
This is the first book I have read by Leigh Lennon. I totally loved Color Blind. Such a great story of sacrifice and love amongst prejudice and judgement. Liz and Iz, college sweethearts, ripped apart by Liz’s bigoted father, find themselves back together by fate. This book moved somewhat slow, but the storyline was well developed. I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to more of the Fans of Football Series.
WOW… This book was amazing. It is very well written with regards to inter racial dating love story. Most times I didn’t think about race here until the flashbacks. It has some many feels, emotions and angst. A great plot. I had my feelings about Candy towards the later part. I was blown away with the other revelations. I love sports as well.
READ IT YOU WON’T BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!!
Leigh Lennon What Have you DONE!!! YOU LEFT ME SPEECHLESS!!! SPEECHLESS!!! I LOVE THIS BOOK!! It’s alittle different then her other books but This Is No Exception in her passion for writing!!
THIS Book has dual POV’s and takes you back 16 years to get the Backstory to present day. Elizabeth aka Liz and Isreal aka Iz met in college and in the matter of months, fell in love and never saw the difference in skin color. Love is color blind in all aspects of life, just like we bleed the Same Color and breathe the same air. But Liz’s father never saw that and only saw the color of Iz’s skin to the point of threatening Liz to break up with him. Of course, Secretive lies and family hatred breaks them apart.
So fast forward 16 years where fate puts them together face to face but still Emotionally hurt from their past endurance. Their Chemistry is Still OFF the Charts HOT and leaves you wanting more. This Book is Beautifully written and it has All the Feels you can ask for in a Second Chance Romance. You are Not going to want to Put This Book Down since you wanna know what is going to happen next.
COLOR BLIND has a diverse range of feelings and not for the Faint of Hearts because it deals with sensitive subjects. Liz and Iz’s story surprisingly has Twists & Turns that will leave you Speechless AND wanna throw your Tablet across the room but Yell at the characters themselves. It’s such an Suspenseful Emotional Rollercoaster Ride of Raw Emotions!!
THIS IS A MUST READ BOOK!!!
This book really hit home with me. I knew when I started this story it involved racism, but Leigh was able to beautifully tell a story that will draw you in. The two characters where faced with awful childhoods and faced cristism with their relationship. Only by faite they are connected again 16 years later. While reading this book, it jumps from the present and past, as well as being told in both POVs.
This is such a touchy subject to begin with, but it’s something that is still a problem today. This story includes all the feels from heartbreak to some super hot incredible steamy scenes. Plus it’s also a sports romance as well. This is the second book I’ve read from this author and she has some amazing writing skills! She definitely does not write the same thing over and over.
Iz and Liz fall in love in college. Liz’s father and secrets tear them apart. Years later when she is free from her fathers control a chance meeting brings them back together. They both admit they are still in love with each other, but Liz still has secrets that she thinks may make her lose love again.
Color Blind was a touching love story about over coming bigotry and how much one is willing to sacrifice to protect the ones they love. This was a good read and can’t wait for the next book.
Color Blind by Leigh Lennon
Five Stars
Color Blind is the first book in the Fans of Football series by Leigh Lennon. This is the second book I have read by Ms. Lennon and I have to say this one is my new favorite. This book had me hooked from the very first page. I love Liz and Iz, they fit together perfectly. This second chance at love was filled with angst and humor. I love the secondary characters, they really make this story pop. I can’t wait to read more from this author and series. This book will leave you with all the feels!
