This was really two books that stories were mixed together. Noah, Ava, Collin and Ciara were such engaging characters. I love that the story was so engaging and I never knew what was going to happen next. I absolutely loved this book and this is one author that you should be read and followed. Highly recommend this book!!!
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
Cooke has become one of my go-to authors when it comes to a great MC romance novel so I was ready to get my hands on this newest one in series I love though each works as a stand alone. This one is like two stories for the price of one which I was really getting into. First we focus on Noah and Ava as things happen that throw them together making it impossible for them to deny their attraction they have repressing. Their portion comes to a satisfying conclusion for the most which changes us to Collin and what he is going through as he joins the MC as a prospect against his families wishes. Makes for an interesting story as it all interplay’s together leading to a doozy of an epilogue giving us the ending we have been hoping for. A fantastic read for fans of the genre. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
4 stars
Collin: Phoenix Skulls is the 29th books in the Skulls MC series. This book is unlike any of the others from the series and if I were going to tell anyone to read them by themselves, it’d definitely be this one. While there are connections and backstories because this story is so different, your enjoyment won’t suffer without the prior books.
Collin’s story is really more of a shared story than his alone and actually takes a bit of a backseat to Noah and Ciara. Collin and Noah are buddies and Noah is about the only person to stand by him when Collin decides to quit his job as a firefighter to prospect as a Skull but that’s just who he is; a stand up guy who doesn’t judge. As a former cop turned private investigator and the brother of an addict (Ciara), Noah has pretty much seen it all. He believes he has no room to judge anyone. Besides no one really wants to get on the bad side of Ava, Collin’s sister and Noah’s badass office manager.
As Noah and Ava figure out what they are to each other, Phoenix faces down a serial killer in their midst. A killer that hits closer to home than anyone realizes.
Great book. A little slow in the beginning but the killer was creepy AF and the couples were awesome. Noah and Ava are dynamite! (Sad to say but I HATE the cover though. It kind of looks like someone photoshopped Zac Efron on a biker’s body! Too skinny and too…smiley…for a Skulls book.)

Full of Suspense!!
So where do I begin? There as so much in this book that kept me jumping from one suspenseful story to the next. Though it wasn’t really built around the MC there was still enough to keep me happy.
Collin’s story was focused on his relationship with Ciara and his best friend Noah’s relationship with his sister Ava. Each had their lives affected by psychos and a serial killer. This whole book kept you guessing on just who was going to make it out alive and whose life would be forever changed.
So sit back and be ready for a book that gave me my sexy biker, plenty of steam, alpha males and suspense that won’t let you put this book down.
This is my first Jessie Cooke book and I loved it. This is the 29th book in the Skulls MC series and I will tell you I wish I had read the others first. Not because Collin was anything less than great, because it was fantastic, But because there are so many characters and so much back story that I missed, clearly 28 books worth. I cannot wait to go back and read each of the others. This book is told in third POV, and told by many characters. I’m not a huge fan of third person, but Cooke makes it work well.
Noah, Ava, Collin, and Ciara are the two couples we meet in this book and they take us on a rollercoaster of a ride. Once I started I could not put it down. I loved every second of their stories. Add in the Valentine Killer and I was hooked.
Jessie Cooke gave us a book that was an absolute fantastic read, that kept me hooked the entire time. I cannot wait to go back and read the rest of the series.
This is the 29th book in this phenomenal series, and this story is unique as there are 2 separate stories and characters. Collin is in a difficult position as he is following his families’ footsteps, when he just wants to join the Skulls. Noah is an ex detective turned PI who is obsessed with a serial killer. This is a well written story about two very different characters, as well as the sassy women who love them, which is filled with suspense, drama, angst, addiction, and love, which had me captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I highly recommend for all readers.
What amazing story. This is about to friends who find love in each others family, also hunting a killer.
I loved the dynamic between all the characters. I had to laugh when each of them found laugh, especially when the other wasn’t happy.
It also shows follow your heart, not what others want for you.
I loved Noah, Ava, Collin and Ciara dynamic.
Jessie Cooke did amazing job on this book.
I highly recommend this book.
I’m a newbie to this series and this author. So I started on book 29 . This book is told from third person POV and several different characters (too many to name).
Collins books is at least two stories in one. A lot happens in this one and it kept my interest. It didn’t really focus on the MC, it was kinda just there, in the background, ready to help.
The most interesting part of this was the serial killer plot. It kept me guessing and guessing some more as to who was behind it. Next to that, was the mystery behind Noah’s sisters disappearance. Add to that Ava’s baggage, and you have one heck of book.
I was confused in the beginning of the book because it took a while to get to Collin. Maybe it’s because I started so far in the series. Other than that, I didn’t feel like I missed much at all starting on book 29. All in all a great read with good character development.
Two couples joined by blood and loyalty of the MC family. While Noah isn’t a member or plans to become a member of the Phoenix Skulls, he is friends of the club and when he turns to them to help him find his missing sister there is no question only instant help. Noah has reason to believe the case that finally made him leave his job as a detective on the police force, The Valentine Serial Killer, might have his sister. He’d been looking for her as broken by drugs and what she had to do to maintain her habit.
Ava worked for Noah. Friends, sister of his best friend, and a woman he’d wanted for years. She had her own problem from a past that had come back to shame her, A past she couldn’t tell her family. Would their stress force them to break through the boundary keeping them apart?
Colin, Ava’s brother, had been around the MC, watching the custom bike business, and talking to the guys. He saw the loyalty and closeness of the brothers and couples. He was tired of living the life his family chose for him and decided to make his own life with the MC even at the high cost.
The search for Ciera touched him as more than an assignment. More than the fact she was the sister of his close friend. He wasn’t sure what but he’d help find her.
Could a battle with a rival club disrupt it all?
So much going on, battles, murders, past baggage, and newfound love. There isn’t a minute of quite in this book. I dare you to put it down. The characters may not be typical they all have their pasts and presents to deal with. The MC is there to support them all.
One more in this series that never fails to please the reader.
