A standalone novella, however, you might enjoy the sexy silver fox Uncle Tommy, in his story, After Care.

Collide has brought us on such a sweet yet bumpy ride through Gage and Ivy’s story of love.
If you are a fan of L.B. Dunbar and have read After Care than you will remember Gage and Ivy as secondary characters and will be as excited as I am to finally see how their love began. (This book can also be read as a standalone.)
Their story all begins with a one night encounter that left a lasting impression for both Ivy and Gage. Two years later they find themselves together again, but now they have a chance to get to know each other and build on that chemistry they both felt years ago.
I fell in love with hot rocker, Gage’s big heart. He has wanted her since that chance encounter and is willing to step up and be what Ivy needs in her life. He may have done it for selfish reasons because he couldn’t forget what happened two years ago, but he knew he wanted her and was going to do everything he could to convince her to take a chance with him!
Ivy has been lost for many reasons trying to find love and understanding, but she always seem to be looking in the wrong places and has made some mistakes. Now, she couldn’t run from one mistake in particular. So, when Gage steps up she can’t believe he wants her and is willing to change his future for her.
Ms. Dunbar also treated us to a younger Tommy Carrigan from After Care and a cameo appearance of Arturo King from her Legendary Rock Star series.
Talk about wham- bam- thank you, sir! Ivy and Gage’s first run in was sassy and sexy and over just as fast as it started.
Ivy may have kept her heart hidden but it was tender. It felt deeply. It had suffered a lot of pain and loss in her life. But holy smokes I LOVED me some Gage. How enamored he was with Ivy from the first meeting. How distance and time and circumstance didn’t change that.
There was a lot of push and pull. Gage wanted in. Ivy wanted to be left alone. But she could only resist his charms for so long. It was a slow-ish burn. While there was no denying the sparks between these two, Gage wanted to do right by her. He even put his dreams in jeopardy to make that happen.
On a side note, it was fun seeing some of L.B. Dunbar’s other characters make a guest appearance. From start to finish, Collide was a total swoon fest. Gage is what book boyfriend dreams are made of. He saw Ivy. Her pain. Her fear for what the future held. Her hopes. Her need for control and certainty. It was through his actions, not just his words that he proved himself to Ivy. And that ending, was the perfect to be continued for the rest of their lives.
Oh, yes! This book has everything I love about romance: gorgeous rock stars, intelligent banter, mischief, and most of all, a super romantic story of two characters that belong together against all odds.
Ivy is Tommy’s niece (remember him from AFTER CARE!). He is so set on protecting her it is very difficult for her to date normally. Also, those men who would approach her would only do it because of her famous mother and uncle. Meeting Gabe in a hallway right before a concert, she and Gabe find each other relieving an itch that must be scratched, only for Ivy to run off and ignore Gabe from that point on. To Gabe, this collision changed his life forever. No other woman could possibly make him feel the way Ivy did that momentous night. Now, Gabe waits to see if Ivy will give him a chance to get to know her better. But something always gets in the way.
Amazing romantic story you will not soon forget.
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.
This is an amazing novella, giving us background on Ivy, Tommy’s niece as well as Kit Carrigan’s daughter!
Ivy is a lost soul, finding emptiness in each hookup she has. One night she has a one and done with Gage, because she’s angry with her family for not telling her about her moms condition getting worse. Ivy thinks she will never experience love, she wasn’t raised that way. Not much of a role model to follow in her mom. She makes mistakes, and one big one has uncle Tommy scrambling to protect her.
Gage also has a troubled past, but that one encounter with Ivy has always stood out to him as the best thing, even though it was fast. When he see’s her again 2 years later, his feelings haven’t changed for her, he wants her, and he’ll do whatever he has to to win her over!
Read along and experience their journey in this amazing novella! 5 stars for this one! Grab it and don’t miss out!
The stars have aligned and came together in the most perfect way with Gage and Ivy’s story. This book can be read as a stand-alone but we have met these two in a few of the silver fox books and have been waiting for their story and it is finally here. Gage is a loving, swoon-worthy rock star that will make you want your very own rock star. And Ivy is a child of a rock star that is strong and just searching for her one true love. Both Gage and Ivy are people searching for their one and only and their circumstances are a little unusual but that does not deter either one from what they believe they deserve.
Collide is not a stand-alone novella. Gage and Ivy first appear in After Care, the first book in the “Romance for the Over Forty” series by L.B. Dunbar. (A total favorite series of mine!) I was so excited to finally read the origin of Gage and Ivy!! Gage is the quintessential young 20s rock star with amazing dark hair, a lean muscular build, and the heart of a romantic. Ivy is petite, blonde, gorgeous, and steals Gage’s breath away. I was surprised to find that this is a romance that spans years. Their first meeting is definitely explosive! Yet, they can’t quite completely forget each other. And since they run in the same circle, it’s very hard to forget!
What did I love about Collide? It’s so excellently done. The way Gage loves Ivy is just… SWOON. I think every woman wants a man as intense, thoughtful, and loving as Gage. Ivy is just as aware of their chemistry, but she’s afraid and second-guessing herself a little. And L.B. Dunbar knows how to write love scenes that will leave you more than breathless… Collide is such a sweet, sweet story that you won’t want to miss! 4.5 stars
Gage and Ivy were first introduced in L.B. Dunbar’s Sexy Silver Foxes/Former Rock Stars series After Care but you do not have to have read After Care to love Collide. I absolutely loved Gage and Ivy’s chemistry. The love Gage has for Ivy was so beautiful and I could not get enough of them. I am so glad we got to see how their love started and I highly recommend this book.
What an amazing 6 star story that I devoured in a matter of a few short hours, it’s that addicting.
Gage is an uprising rock star who literally collides with Ivy, the daughter of a rock legend. An explosive meeting that left Gage in love with her. Years later, Ivy finds herself in a desperate situation and confused. Gage is there every step of the way and Ivy will not be able to resist him anymore.
We have met them in After Care and they were pretty amazing characters. Now they got their own story and it’s phenomenal. Pure, unconditional love that has no boundaries. This story captured my heart from the first page read to the last one. Beautifully written with an amazing storyline. Bottomline is this is a must read.
Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this amazing story. I can’t wait for more.
Five phenomenal stars for this long anticipated book. I’ve been waiting for Gage and Ivy’s story since I read After Care. Their relationship wasn’t conventional but the best ones never are. When they finally come together their hearts collide. I loved every minute of their story and it was so worth the wait.
Awww what an amazing love story this was. Ivy is such a normal girl, well minus her insecurities, but since she was raised in the rockstar life, she seems so grounded. Raising up to fame, Gage is also not the typical rockstar. All these two want is a love of their own, one that is true, pure and very real and together that is exactly what they have found. There is of course a few bumps in the road but these two handle it so well. Loved this book so much
When two stars collide
You know an author really cares about her readers when she writes the book her fans begged her to. We first met Ivy Carrigan and Gage Everly in After Care – Tommy Carrigan’s story. I, along with countless fans, found them so fascinating, we needed their book. And at last, here is Ivy and Gage’s story. COLLIDE stands entirely on its own and it takes place before After Care and the rest of the Sexy Silver Foxes series. Although COLLIDE is described as a novella, I consider it a shorter-length novel; it’s way over 200 pages and meaty.
I will not summarise COLLIDE; I think it’s better to go in blind. It is a rock romance that rings true because L. B. Dunbar truly captures the essence of the rock world and rock musicians in all its passion and craziness. Now, the first chapter could scare off some readers; it’s seriously in your face, but do continue because it all will start to make sense with chapter two. Ivy is seriously messed up.
When it comes to rock star romances, I’m extremely picky because they often feel fake, and it’s definitely not the case here. I’m not overly fond of angst and drama unless it’s particularly well done, and Ms. Dunbar hits all the right notes: COLLIDE is epic!
“She was dressed in sadness.” What a glorious sentence that described Ivy so well when we first meet her. Ivy had a tough life with her rock star mother; she never really learned to cope with the instability, she never really knew normal. Her uncle Tommy, a former rock star, has always been her rock, the father she never really had. In Gage, she finds someone who accepts who she is and who understands her. I expected fireworks and lots of sexy times, and there are plenty of them, what I did not anticipate was such a powerful and emotional story. I was glued to my ereader, and consumed by this fabulous romance. I also very much appreciate the fact that every character remains true to how they’re portrayed in the other books. We get to see why Gage is so protective and possessive, what makes Ivy tick, and how it all worked out with Tommy. Besides Gage, the lead singer of Collision, we get to meet/meet again band members Jared and Petty – whom I adore.
I was so much looking forward to COLLIDE, I was so afraid it would not live up to my expectations, but it’s everything I hoped it would be, and much, much more! If you enjoy rock star romances, COLLIDE is one book you will not want to miss!
We first met Gage and Ivy in L.B. Dunbar’s amazing book,” After Care.” I had always wondered where they met and how they got together and with the release of “Collide”, we will find out why they are so devoted to each other. Gage only ever wanted to be with Ivy and take care of her. Even though two years had gone by from their first encounter until they saw each other in Hawaii, Gage never forgot their time together and neither had Ivy. Thoughts of Gage were always in the back of her mind and time and distance had only made him sexier and more appealing, and she couldn’t believe how easy it would be to fall for him. Gage was very attentive, thoughtful and protective of her, certainly not the typical behavior of a hot rock star. He could have any woman, but his heart belonged to Ivy and it always would.
I now understand why Gage and Ivy were so in love with each other. He was there for her when she felt alone, confused and at a crossroads in her life. He never gave up on her and his feelings for Ivy grew stronger as their relationship developed. As I was reading, I could feel their hearts pounding every time they were together. It is hard to explain my emotions as I read this remarkable book, but it put me in a magical world where love never ends and everyday graces us with a rainbow. Gage was Ivy’s savior and his honesty and love captured her heart and made her feel whole once again.
I thoroughly enjoyed getting to see how Gage and Ivy began, how they collided into one very bright, loving, and shiny star. These characters have been there from the beginning of the sexy silver fox series starting with After Care and their love for each other was front and center in their relationship. This book included a major jaw-dropping shocker for me that I never would have guessed. For a young couple to survive and thrive in the world of rock ‘n’ roll is an amazing feat, but Gage and Ivy have done just that.
Gage Everly turned out to be far more of a man than I ever imagined. He is not your everyday rock star. He manages to prove his love and devotion to Ivy and his family ten-fold. He didn’t have a picture-perfect childhood but that did not stop him from wanting more for himself and his own children. Watching him devote himself to putting Ivy’s well-being ahead of everything else made my heart swell.
Collide is a beautiful romance that opens your eyes to everything love can and should be. It doesn’t matter where something starts, it’s what happens next and where it ends that makes all the difference.
I can definitely recommend this book for anyone looking to a feel-good read that includes real-life issues and complications to be overcome on the journey.
This is absolutely a stand alone novella but if you have read After Care, then you will remember meeting Ivy and Gage. This is how their story began, before After Care. Ivy grew up in the rock star world, and because of this she doesn’t know who she can truly trust or even believe. She has been struggling and now that she has an even bigger problem, she truly doesn’t know where to turn or what to do. Gage has wanted Ivy from the moment he saw her. He just never thought he would have another chance. But finding out her secret? He decides he will be the one to be there through thick and thin. And to finally show her just what they can have together.
When I read After Care I was blown away with Tommy’s story (and he is still my first love!) but I also wanted to know more about Ivy and Gage, along with the rest of the band. This book? This book in no way disappoints! One thing that everyone needs to remember is that this book takes place way before After Care, it’s the story of HOW Ivy and Gage met and made a life together. So don’t expect to see other characters than the band, Ivy, and Tommy. Ivy is a troubled woman but knowing how her mother was, I truly can’t blame her. Tommy is most definitely the father figure in her life and I love that about him!! Gage is one of the most laid back and loving people I have read about in a very long time. Ivy and Gage together? They are absolutely brilliant and beautiful! For two people who have their issues and need’s to realize that they can depends on each other and truly trust each other? I loved it! A great read with great characters! Now I need stories for the rest of the band!!
Never fall in love with a rockstar, you’ll never fall in love with anybody, ever again.
“You sing pretty songs, and we mortals fall for all the romance in them.”
Another stellar love story by LB, a follow up of the Collision books, which have been my fave.
This book is where it all started. It takes us back to the start. A story full of hope and trust, set amidst tricky and insecure scenarios, it re-instates faith in serendipitous Love
Gage Everly and Ivy Carrigan are meant to be, albeit after crossing roadblocks of garangutan proportions. She’s on her way to meet Gage when fate intercepts. Actually a team member and her path veers away permanently.
Gage is swoonworthy. I mean a guy who loves ALL THE PACKAGE completely. He’s stuff of dreams, a perfect bbf
I’m Gage Everly, rising rock star. Man on the edge. Most sought-after bachelor.
Ivy has been through so much she’s apprehensive. And rightly so. self deprecating and her beliefs are all askew. Her super star mom drilled in her since childhood which worsens the matters further
They can hold your body, but never give them your heart.
But when stars collide, it’s not necessary that they’ll collapse, some just merge and shine bigger and brighter
4 stars for Foolish Organ
Gage and Ivy first appeared in After Care, as secondary characters. This is their story, set several years earlier, although it can be read as a stand-alone.
Ivy is the daughter of a famous rock goddess; Gage is the lead singer of the up and coming band supporting her latest tour. A random hookup between them leaves a lasting impression on Gage, but Ivy subsequently receives bad news and their paths don’t cross again for a couple of years.
When they do, Gage feels like this is his second chance with her. Ivy doesn’t know how to love; her mother was never a good example of how to conduct a lasting relationship.
Gage goes all out to prove himself to her, and some of those moments in this book caused my heart to swoon. He’s such a romantic character, something I didn’t expect a rock star to be.
Slowly, Ivy learns to let Gage in. There are some complicating factors, but I’m not going to reveal them because, spoilers. But rest assured, a happy ending is on the horizon.
This is a lovely, sweet romance with some seriously hot chemistry between the two main characters. It’s a refreshing change to have a romantic hero and a reticent heroine, when it’s usually the other way around. A really great read.
Loved the push and pull between Ivy and Gage and how they worked thru the issues of to have a relationship or not. Gage just had to have the strength and wisdom to show Ivy that he was all in and whew, what a workout he had. Loved it!!
I had already read AFTER CARE so these characters were familiar to me! But understanding the background story between Gage and Ivy, the band and Uncle Tommy, just made much more sense! I loved this story so hard. So much so, that AFTER CARE is due for a reread, NOW! 7 stars for COLLIDE!
This is a Collision Novella.
This is the story of Gage and Ivy. Gage is a rock star in a band named Collision. Ivy is the daughter of a rock star, a lead singer. Her mother died two years ago. Gage and Ivy knocked into each other in a hallway two years ago, and on impulse, Ivy hooked up with him in a closet. He’s never forgotten her. His band mate hooked up with Ivy a few times. He ended up killing himself from depression. Their is a repercussion from Ivy being with Cash. The band is staying in Hawaii at Ivy’s uncle’s invitation where her mom used to go once a year. Her uncle is with them. Gage and Ivy see each other for the first time in two years. This is a really slow paced love story, and also a great one. Lots of emotions, mostly on Ivy’s part. This has a good story line, for sure. I couldn’t put the book down until I finished it. I love L.B. Dunbar’s writing. It gets you right into the story, like you’re there. So looking forward to her next book.
I love the start to this series! I will admit, I jumped ahead and read the shorts on Jared (another band member) before I read Collide. This book did not leave me disappointed. It is a quick story about love and chaos colliding. L.B. does a great job of swirling the bad chaos with the good leaving you with all the feels! I am hopeful she will keep writing about the band and finish what she has started with these guys! I definitely recommend this book if you want a quick, rock band read!
