I shouldn’t have remembered him.He was just a guy who walked through a restaurant. I didn’t know his name. We never made eye contact. There was no connection between us at all.But I could feel him.The tingle down my spine. The command in his presence. The snap of tension in the air around him. That was the first time I saw him, and I was captivated. The second time was different. He was in the … captivated.
The second time was different.
He was in the mysterious back elevator of my apartment building. Our eyes met for a fleeting second before the doors closed, and I was staggered. My breath was robbed. My senses on high alert. My body hummed.
That was just the beginning.
He was the leader of the mafia. I was about to fall in love with him, and his name…
Cole Mauricio.

Calling on all Tijan fans! Has anyone snatched up this recent release yet? If not, I say go for it.
So far, I’ve everything this author has written especially the Fallen Crest series and this one doesn’t disappoint — phew! The story has a nice pace, a likable heroine, twists and turns done just right, and even a Carter Reed-Emma cameo! If you like a solid mafia romance featuring a swoon-worthy alpha leader, I’d recommend the read
I loved this book so much ,i could not put it down!
Cole is soooo dreamy ,i know he’s the leader of the mob ,but i still fell head over heels for him,i totally get Addison’s attraction the moment she sees him ! he’s a good guy and he just wants to keep Addison safe because he’s lost his whole family when he was younger and the only person he thinks as family now is Carter because he saved him ,i loved that they have a connection and it was great to see ,i loved that he let Addison in and they have a hot and heavy relationship !!!!!!
Just read all of Tijan’s books ,she is a great writer and i can not wait to read more from her !

I loved this book, especially when I realized even as a standalone it is connected to the Carter Reed series (I love love LOVE that series) and I could not have been happier. I don’t know why I haven’t read this book before. That said, you don’t have to read that series to understand this book. It is most definitely a mafia romance, so if you are into that this book is perfect for you! There was a lot of romance and of course also a lot of action. The pace of the book therefore was just amazing. It kept me wanting to keep on reading. There were also enough twists and turns to keep the story interesting. Even more so, I really felt the chemistry between Addison and Cole. They are such a great couple. It was a lot of fun to read about Carter and Emma again as well. Overall, an amazing read especially if you are into mafia romances (especially if you’ve read Carter read and haven’t read Cole yet, you must!!).

Loved this book!!
If one is looking for porn, this is the book. This was such a stupid story! djc
I really enjoyed how this book had lots of unexpected secrets. Loved Cole and Addison’s chemistry. All of the supporting characters where really great too.
Addison has had a crazy life and she’s starting to figure out that things aren’t quite what they seem, and there are monsters and they do go bump in the night. How big of a monster is Cole? Really liked this story and everything about Addison!
My first book written by the amazing Tijan. I loved it and will be reading Carter Reed next.
This was a really good read. At first I was finding the romance and sex happening too fast, but as the book went on, it became more and more appropriate. It was a powerful romance that needed to be in place for the last third of the book so it started strong to build that power. I enjoyed how the mafia piece of this was hinted at a lot for much of the book, but not officially announced until midway. It allowed character and romance development to occur before the drama. Overall, enjoyable read.
Another great book in this series. I enjoyed it just as much as I did Carter Reed. I definitely recommend this book, this series and this author.
Addison Bowman had just gone through the worst that life could throw at her when she witnessed her husband die in a horrendous car accident, and then had to move out of her home because she was, in her mind, haunted by his spirit. She moved into an amazing new apartment at The Mauricio. The space was the entire third floor that over looked the busy downtown area, but was still very private and secure even though it was at the center of it all.
On moving day, once she had everything in her apartment her best friend, Sia, asked her to go out to dinner with her down the street at Gianni’s. Dinner was wonderful and while Sia was getting situated after getting free champagne from the hostess, a group of handsome men came into the restaurant and went straight up some stairs that led to offices. The one man in the middle that stood slightly taller than the rest was drop dead gorgeous…little did Addison know how significant that man would be in her life.
Cole Mauricio was the head of the Mauricio Family, a major mafia crime family. He led a lonely life even though he was super rich and powerful, surrounded by many that loved and respected him. He was still missing a major puzzle piece in his life, however, he didn’t know it at the time.
Tijan did such an amazing job with this book. The way she portrayed Cole, I am so enamored with my new book boyfriend. I would definitely recommend this standalone to anyone that loves a great love story. Tijan is and always be one of my favorite go to authors.
ღ I cannot even tell you how great this story is! This was one of those books that you couldn’t put down easily, it is well written & very put together, the characters were so easy to fall in love •
I am struggling with my words, so my review doesn’t reveal anything that may be a spoiler.
Addison Bowman/Sailor, & Liam moved to Chicago two years ago, for Liam’s job. He was the newest counselor at the Haven Center.
You would think that at thirty years ago she be right where she wanted to be in life. I guess its pretty damn hard to do that after she witnessed her husband dying right in front of her eyes
it’s a year later & now Addison felt like she might be able to start living again. She decided that she needs to move out her & Liam’s home & closer to her bff (Sia) in the city
Sia find Addison apartment in exclusive & prestigious building’ (The Mauricio“) , there is mystery surrounding this building in every aspect. where no even know who the owner is. Each tenant seems to have his own story to tell as well. The secured well its just over the top amazing..
Cole this man is complete mystery & I believe that I should leave it like that for you, for you to truly enjoy this read you need to slowly unravel this man’s story to properly enjoy him
This it’s not a mafia story. Yes it does have your typical aspects of it, but I feel like It’s more of a love story or second chance story in my eyes…. But hey that’s me… Either way whatever category you wanna put it in I felt like it was good read
———– Happy Reading ———–
Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion
Paulette Review
Cole is not the first book I’ve read from this author but it has been a while since I’ve read one of her books. This story did not disappoint! It reminds me why I enjoy this authors books so much. This was such a great mafia romance read that had it’s mystery, suspense, steamy moments, revenge, betrayal and secrets. I enjoyed Cole and Addison’s relationship from the very start and there was not denying the chemistry between them. I also enjoyed Addison’s best friend Sia. She made me smile and laugh more than a few times while reading this story. The ending was a sweet and steamy one and I look forward to reading more books from this author.
Oh wow! I need more Cole and Addison! I loved this story! Mafia. Excitement. Danger. Amazing characters. Fantastic writing. I loved it all and didn’t want it to end!
“I came to you, and the ghosts left me.”
Holy crap, wow and so intense. This was an utterly fantastic read! Tijan is a seriously amazing writer, her characters, storylines and depth of emotion are fantastic. She is able to weave a story that sucks you in from the very start and has you cheering for the guy most people would hate. Cole is a fantastic, deep, scared and complicated character, his darkness is the perfect compliment to Addison’s sorrow and quiet strength. I loved every word of this story and highly recommend it to all those looking for a little Alpha Male action.
I liked Carter Reid. I’m not really a Mafia fan, that’s too much hard alpha for me usually. Cole is the kind of Mafia guy I can appreciate. When he’s at work he takes care of business but after that he’s not all hard a** killer, he’s kinda nice and likes to tease his closest inner circle. This book is written almost entirely from Addison’s point of view, I would have liked to get inside Coles head a bit more. I did see the value in feeling her come out of her year long grieving funk and have her heart and other parts sparking to life after being dormant by the look and touch of Cole.
The story flowed well, as their secret relationship flourished, I enjoyed quirkiness of the tenants in The Mauricio. Sia is beyond self involved and not the best friend she should be. There are some plot twists that caught me by surprise, some clever some a bit thin. There are plenty of bad guys to despise.
5 Stars From Sammy’s Book Obsession!
I’m so glad I got my hands on this book! I love Tijan insanely! Cole isn’t like my beloved Fallen Crest books, but it definitely still has that “Tijan feel” to it.
The writing is spot on, as always. The characters are so well developed that you are left feeling like you actually know them! That’s gift that this author has in spades! Love it!
I recommend Cole to any Tijan fan! Or really just anyone at all!
Another favorite! I don’t think I’ve rated anything from Tijan less than 5 stars! She’s truly that great !
I don’t know what it is about mafia books, but I can’t seem to get enough of them. This one was pretty good, it certainly entertained me. There were some twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. I love stuff like that. It makes the story not only interesting, but keeps it moving and I wasn’t bored. I didn’t read the Carter Reed series so I must make sure I rectify that soon. He was in it, but I didn’t feel like I was missing out on anything major. Great story!
OMG!!!! This is the first book I have read by Tijan and let me just tell you…..I am HOOKED!!! I fell in love with this book, the writing, the characters, etc, from the beginning! I cannot wait to keep reading through Tijan’s books!!
