I really enjoy Elizabeth Moon’s work and I have read the entire Vatta series. While I enjoyed this book, I did not find it to be the caliber of the prior books as I did not find the characters or story as engaging. Given the circumstances of the story, I did not find the difficulties and suffering nearly as significant as you would expect. They were always saved before things really became difficult. I cannot say more without spoiling the story.
The book is an easy light read and an opportunity to engage with some. Characters from prior books.
Good read good action strong femal lead
Good story to add to the “Vatta” series.

A fun classic space opera as seen from a female perspective. Wallace is always a good read.
Great start to a new chapter for Vatta.
Great read, couldn’t put it down!
This is an excellent continuation of the Vatta. Saga.
Hope the sequel is more satisfying.
Well written. Continuing to develop the characters and strengthening the story base. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
The first in a new Vatta series. If you enjoyed the Vatta’s War series, you’ll like this one too. And the next book in the series, “Into the Fire” comes out in a week or two.
