Single mom Vivi Vincent is thrust into her worst nightmare when she’s trapped inside a mall during a terror attack along with her eight-year-old son. With the help of Jed Brennan, an FBI special agent on enforced leave, Vivi and her son survive the assault. But the danger is far from over.
Vivi’s son may have witnessed critical details of the terrorists’ future plans and is targeted for death, … for death, but he’s mute, and he’s traumatized. Still someone launches a strike against the FBI’s safe house, and Jed fears the bad guys have an inside man. No longer knowing who to trust, he hides mother and son in a log cabin deep in the heart of the Wisconsin Northwoods. There Jed and Vivi try to figure out how to unlock the information inside her son’s head. What they don’t bargain for is the red-hot attraction that flares between them, or the extent of the sinister plot that threatens to rip apart not only any chance of happiness they might have together, but also the very fabric of American society.

I love the way Toni Anderson does suspense. Always wondering “what’s happening next”
The best recommendation I can ever make is that ‘its a page turner’. Likeable Characters and the good guys win ending.
Outstanding murder/mystery series.
Great mystery with just the right amount of romance. Read to the wee hours.
Well written
Love the characters
Another Great
Story of intrigue, government officials, and bad guys. Veronica took her son to see a specialist who deals with autistic children. Her son Michael stopped talking a few years before, her ex husband couldn’t deal with it. With in Minneapolis, they decided to go to The Mall of America, but it was attacked. Her son and herself survived …
How timely. Our society needs to realize this is happening. Also somewhat realistic for our times. A little to haunting an eye opener.
Great story and characters!
Great book
great intrigue/ surprise ending
Really good book
Enjoy this author.
Great book! Love the series!
I love Toni Anderson’s books.
The story line was very interesting , I would have given this book a much higher rating if it didn’t contain such graphic sex scenes. The sexual detail isn’t necessary or appropriate.
I enjoyed reading this book. It was hard to put down. I would recommend this book 100%
I enjoy all of Toni Andersons books and this was no exception.
This book is one of the best I’ve read recently with a “current theme”. The characters were realistic, quite believable.
Good book
