This book was nothing special. The blurb tells about Rochne getting dismissed from the police force, but this isn’t mentioned in the story. There didn’t seem to be much depth to this story. And the hillbilly was a little to stereotypical for belief. All in all, an unbelieveable plot line.
I read other books by Ames and I think they were better.
Solid hard-boiled mystery.
gritty page turner. Full of surprises.
Quick read, good book.
Awful, twisted, and unbelievable. Just a piece of dark trash. I couldn’t wait to put it down hoping for something refreshing or decent.
First Dan Ames book I have read. Will read more as it my kind of book. Short with enough but not too much detail. Entertaining read.
A private eye is hired to find a young girl. He learns she is involved in the world of exotic dancers and sometime prostitution. He learns her stage name is Jade. The book is a page turner. I read for hours until I finished it. I recommend it highly.
Loved it
Great read!
terrible book – so bad I did not even get past the first chapter
Yet another book I read cover to cover without stopping. Great writing!
Good read
Read in one setting.
Great author…great plot…absolutely!
Not a bad read, but could have been more entertaining.
I had to put it down because it became too vile. After reading another cat mystery, I finished it only to find the ending clogged with PC nonsense.
Characters you care about.
My only disappointment with “Cold Jade” was that it wasn’t longer. I really enjoyed the characters and the story and didn’t want to see it end! Great portrayal of what living in Detroit now is like – that was actually scarier than the bad guys!
Lots of twists and turns and a lot of variety in the cast of characters. Action charged ahead full steam right up until the final scene. Final denoument was a bit too convenient when compared to the meatiness of the rest of the action.
It was ok. Glad I read it.
