CIA Agent Patrick Killion is on a secret mission to hunt down the ruthless female assassin hired to kill the Vice President of the United States. The trail leads him to the Colombian rainforest and an earnest biologist, Audrey Lockhart, whose work on poison dart frogs gives her access to one of the deadliest substances on earth—the same substance used to murder the VP.
When Audrey is attacked by … attacked by the local drug cartel, Killion steps in and hustles her out of harm’s way, determined to find out what she knows. His interrogation skills falter somewhere between saving her life and nursing her back to health as he realizes she’s innocent, and he ends up falling for her. Audrey has a hard time overlooking the fact that Killion kidnapped her, but if she wants to get her life back and track down the bad guys, she has to trust him. Then someone changes the rules of their cat and mouse game and now they’re the ones being hunted—by a cold-blooded killer who is much closer than they think.

Like a heroine that is sassy.
I loved this book. Very intriguing…page turner
Well written, great suspense and romance
Great romance
Great read. Kept me interested till the very end. Univ Prof (working with frogs – poisonous) gets entangled with Colombian Cartel. CIA agent trying to get to the killers of USA Vice President. All leads point to the Prof. Chemistry between CIA agent and Prof is intense/electric/sizzling.
A romantic-suspense that keeps your interest throughout from beginning to end.
I enjoyed this book. It was predictable, but had enough twists and turns to keep me goind
Toni Anderson is one of my favorite authors for romantic suspense. I recommend reading the Cold Justice series.
Great story
While there was a great romance in it, the book focused on the action and the mystery. A great read!!!
Great read!
Patrick Killion is a CIA field agent hot on the heels of the female assassin who murdered the Vice President. But every piece of information he uncovers leads him in the direction of Audrey Lockhart, Frog Biologist and the least likely looking assassin ever! But with batrachotoxin used she is the main suspect. When he follows her back to Colombia he uses some not so subtle tactics to rattle her cage. But he inadvertently sets the local Cartel onto her and then has to save the very person he may have to eliminate!
Audrey has a lot to deal with; her research, her drug addicted sister, cute as a button nephew and now some madman going on about Gateway Project and trying to kill her! When she is assaulted and then saved by a shadowy figure she never thought for a second she would be whisked from country to country with the Cartel on her tail, all whilst being declared public enemy number one. All made worse by the fact that someone very close to home may be orchestrating the whole witch hunt.
Killion can be a jerk at times and I enjoyed watching him slowly like and then lust after his suspect, once of course she was excluded as a suspect. Audrey may not be a super spy but she holds her own and has a spine of steel! As usual I thought I had the big bad in the bag and then …blam more twists and I was gobsmacked! Really well researched story and really enjoyed the action/suspense elements.
This fast paced story keeps you guessing right to the very end. You are never quite sure what will happen next. Patrick has his hands full keeping Audrey safe, all while realising that he may have been wrong. A great romantic suspense story.
Wow!!! Toni Anderson is one of the BEST romantic suspense authors ever! The plot is complex but very interesting without being overwhelming or bogged down with fillers plus there are no loose ends…This is exactly how I like my serial stories because each different set of characters have their own story to tell instead of piggy-backing (unfinished business) of the previous one. Patrick is like a secret CIA hitman, he gets the job done and moves on to the next “assignment.” Audrey is a smart chick that fights back when she blindly gets tangled up in a web of drugs and greed but whose the real enemy? As they team up to figure this out Audrey learns from Patrick & Patrick learns a lot about Audrey.
Great Intrigue
It’s interesting how finding the bad guys gets people together. Audrey was thought to be the assassin of the VP, but is was something else. Audrey has back to her research in Columbia but is attacked her first night home and warned to call her boss. She called the police. Now bad guys are trying too kill her, after running & being stabbed, he died. The good guy helps her but doesn’t trust her but they are on the run. Both of their past come together to kill them.
