Hunting For A Killer Who Doesn’t Play By The Rules. Detective Erin Donovan expects life to settle down after the arrest and conviction of a serial rapist who terrorized her college town last summer. Then two young women are brutally slain and the murders bear all the hallmarks of the campus rapist. Did Erin arrest the wrong man? Her job is at stake and tensions are high. Just when it looks like … Just when it looks like things can’t get worse, the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit sends a profiler to assist the investigation—in the form of a man Erin has never been able to forget.
Three years ago, former Marine scout sniper Darsh Singh’s feelings for Erin had him breaking all his rules. Now his only interest in the former NYPD detective is figuring out if she screwed up an investigation and helped send an innocent man to prison.
Being forced to work together rekindles their attraction, and as Darsh and Erin fall for each other, the predator fixates on the female detective hunting him. Can they identify the killer before he makes Erin his final victim?

Great follow-through with the Cold series by Toni Anderson!!
I love it when a writer makes me think about more than the mystery being portrayed and solved. I have long questioned the media’s version of “free speech.” Other issues include responsibility for our words and actions, the real meaning of justice, the manner in which our pasts control us, the impact of ego, and factors of intelligence. A very satisfying read!
A LITTLE UNPREDICTABLE TILL THE END.
Excellent book, love this writer and this series. Couldn’t put it down.
Toni Andersen is a wonderful writer. All her books have great characters and plots.
It was an AWESOME Read! It had lots of unpredictable twist and turns through out the entire book!
I have read all 10 of this F B I series Toni Anderson is a great author Loved the books
I’m reading now but having a hard time putting it down. Good read
I would recommend any of Toni’s books. It is a great series.
This is the third book I have read from Toni Anderson in this series. I enjoyed her characters and loved the way she paced the story. It was action-packed and kept me guessing. Great read!
Great read
It had me hooked from the beginning, and the twist/turns/to everyone is a suspect. Great read
I don’t know how Erin copes dealing with the outright malice and bullying by the “good” townsfolk. I’d have punched more than one of them for their downright disregard for her professionalism and integrity.
She takes it to heart when it appears that there is either a copycat killer on the loose or she has somehow made a mistake in her earlier investigation. With the FBI now getting in on the action, she can’t help feel that she made an error somewhere.
Darsh can’t believe he’s met Erin again. They had a magical night, somewhat sullied by Erin’s admission. But he’ll work with anyone to make sure justice is served. But he soon realises that there is more to Erin’s story and as the story unravels so does the immense amount of guilt carried by Erin.
Awesome story!
OK. I so love this series. Thought I had Toni’s way of thinking all figured out, that I knew who’d be the murderer. Well, I didn’t, though I’ve been close :D.
I really enjoyed reading this story .
It was intriguing and suspenseful .
Very intense . I could not put it down .
Darsh Singh is an agent for the FBI BAU.
called to assist local police in Forbes Pines in upstate New York . They have a double homicide at Blackcombe College . They need to figure out if it’s tied into the case last year of serial rapist . Darsh didn’t expect to come face to face with Erin Donovan the woman he had a one night stand with three years ago before he found out she was married . Working side by side on the case brings them closer and their chemistry is still of the charts . But when the killer gets close can they catch him before it’s to late . I highly recommend taking the time to read this outstanding story .
Good series!
Narrator does an excellent job, voice is clear, crisp and pitch blends well with intensity of plot. I read this one out of order but that really didn’t matter since the books in this series can stand-alone but I also love how there is always some small connection to previous characters because I actually want an update on how they are faring. I didn’t read the blurb because I prefer the element of surprise & I didn’t want it to cloud my chance to try to figure out whodunnit. The realistic subject matter is a touchy one and very sensitive, I usually shy away from reading anything that even hints to it. The plot hooked me immediately & I couldn’t put this down. To me, the story is very detailed and graphic but it wasn’t so graphic for me to not give the author a chance to tell this story. I like Erin, she is thick-skinned, brave and patient, I really think she was more loyal to her job than herself. I like Darsh, he has a chip on his shoulder but he is a very smart detective. They make a great team and have great chemistry. Plot is full of twist and action, for the first time ever, I was able to figure it out so pay close attention and enjoy this exhilarating ride.
