Hunting For A Killer Who Doesn’t Play By The Rules. Detective Erin Donovan expects life to settle down after the arrest and conviction of a serial rapist who terrorized her college town last summer. Then two young women are brutally slain and the murders bear all the hallmarks of the campus rapist. Did Erin arrest the wrong man? Her job is at stake and tensions are high. Just when it looks like … Just when it looks like things can’t get worse, the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit sends a profiler to assist the investigation—in the form of a man Erin has never been able to forget.
Three years ago, former Marine scout sniper Darsh Singh’s feelings for Erin had him breaking all his rules. Now his only interest in the former NYPD detective is figuring out if she screwed up an investigation and helped send an innocent man to prison.
Being forced to work together rekindles their attraction, and as Darsh and Erin fall for each other, the predator fixates on the female detective hunting him. Can they identify the killer before he makes Erin his final victim?

Darsh Singh is my new book husband so back off ladies. Seriously though, this book may be my favorite of the series (or tied with book 1) bc omg it has it all. Murder, mystery; intrigue, lies, secrets, sex. This book is full of great characters and combined with a great mystery plot that will keep you guessing until the very end, it’s must read. Some parts could be triggering to some with the rape and torture the villain commits but I think it was handled very well and was not at all exploitive since the acts themselves take place off page and we only see the aftermath. Anyway, I loved everything about this book. Everything. But if you make a move on Darsh I’ll cut ya because he is seriously swoony romance heartthrob level gazillion.
I read book 1 and really liked it. I decided I should save the rest of the series and only read one occasionally. That was dumb. Life’s too short to save good books when you can read them now. So I binged, reading 9 books in 16 days. It was glorious. I especially enjoy how the main characters from book 1 become supporting characters in book 2, etc. It’s a great way to have some of the continuity of a sequel without the boredom of typical sequels.
Life interfered once or twice, but other than that, I never put one of these down until I finished it.
Book six in this series and tied with the first (which was my favorite). This story has all the mystery, drama, romance and thrill, I have come to expect from this author. The narrator for the audiobook is Eric Dove, who does an outstanding job. A killer is stalking the campus, he is intelligent, cunning and dangerous, he is fixated on a police detective. Excellent read and listen. The audiobook and hard copy are equally entertaining. Add this to your listen list.

“Real love doesn’t meet you at your best. It meets you in your mess.” – J. S. Park
I’m so glad I found Toni Anderson and her books. She writes stories that just capture your attention from the start, you never want it to end and you can’t put the book down. Her stories are never dull, they are always action packed with the equal amount of romance and suspense with quirkiness and humor. Toni’s characters are so real and I loved the way she is showing their strength but also vulnerability, struggles, internal battles and how they cope with situations (everyday and connected with their job) or past / past experiences. The romance and situations are just believable and you simply cannot not fall for the characters: main or secondary.
Cold Hearted is the sixth book in Cold Justice series. It’s Darsh Singh and Erin Donovan’s book. It’s full of mystery, suspense, twists and turns and romance. I love friends to lovers trope and second chance romance. These are one of my favorite tropes out there.
Darsh is the FBI agent and profiler. He is an ex Marine and an ex sniper. Darsh doesn’t want to get involved and keeps people at arms length because of his past and doesn’t trust them easily. He’s so charming, appealing, handsome, down to earth guy with great personality. The traits I admire about him are that he is so confident, tenacious, knows what he wants and never gives up (whether it’s personal or professional life), so stubborn and professional with a heart of gold.
Erin is a police detective. She’s so brave, strong, independent, stubborn, determined, a survivor and a fighter and so beautiful inside and out. She has a difficult past and trust issues. She’s so fantastic and really good at her job. She also pushes people away because she doesn’t trust issues and as a result of her past relationship.
What I love about both Erin and Darsh is that they are both imperfect and flawed, both have past that prevent them to trust people but when together they compliment each other in every single way. They are intense, complicated, raw and so resilient. Their chemistry is off the charts. I love seeing them work together as a team, fall for each other, getting to know each other more and letting each other in their hearts. So amazing characters. They are definitely each other’s match. I love how Darsh was treating her and was willing to make her believe she’s the one for him and that they are meant to be together. Love how protective and supportive he was of her. He was truly fighting for her with everything he got. I liked how their past and present collided and that the second chance was given to them. Their relationship isn’t easy, it was challenging and testing with so many hurdles/obstacles in their way. So glad they found each other.
Recommended.
