I have three superstitions I live by:1. No dating all season.2. Don’t jinx a no-hitter while one’s in progress. 3. Be cold-hearted. If you find something you think about more than baseball, destroy it. Calliope Thomas is one of those things. Ever since she left a bad review on the Max Energy Drink I endorse, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about her. Obviously, when she said she hoped I had … she said she hoped I had a losing season, I had to meet her and get her to take the words back.
Now, she’s making me do insane things. Like, obsess over the color of her panties or if I can make her blush. Read superstition one—I don’t do this sort of thing.
I play ball, not chase after a woman I barely know.
But, I am, and she wants nothing to do with me.
She thinks I’m the devil.
And I have to say she makes me want to sin.
I’m becoming a borderline stalker.
And to make matters worse she’s affecting my game.
I can’t pitch.
I can’t hit.
I can’t focus.
Something needs to give, and it won’t be me.

She Was His Game Changer
This enemies-to-lovers, romantic comedy delivered witty banter that was verbal foreplay and SUPER HOT! It was laugh-out-loud funny and a whole lot sexy! The characters were truly a joy.
Calliope is quirky, hilarious and just off-the-wall and I adored her. Max is a man on a mission and his mission is to conquer Calliope. He’s a dirty talking ball player that makes Calliope lose her mind whenever he’s around. This sweet girl is about to get dirtied up and she’s going to LOVE it!
There’s a bunch of back and forth between these two. Something was always holding one of them back. And while they are figuring things out, you will be getting some hysterical comic relief.
This was so much fun to read. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
Loved this book and it characters.
Fell in love with Calliope and Max.
Loved the way she connected with him and got in his head. Loved that they got their HEA.
Max is obsessed. Obsessed with a snarky woman who’s thrown him off his game, literally. So he sets up a sneaky way to get to know the feisty woman who left a negative review of the energy drink he endorses. He is supposedly coldly focused on baseball, but suddenly Calliope is messing with his mind, and he isn’t sure he minds.
I absolutely LOVE Cold Hearted Baller! Max and Calliope’s snarky banter mask a deep attraction that turns into so much more. Logan Chance’s work is always sexy and character driven but I have to say under his new pen name, he seems to have developed an even wittier, snarkier, and more fun identity. I am looking forward to a lot more from Logan Chance writing as Logan!
This book was so funny. Great whit and humor.
An absolute gem of a book. Calliope and Max are fabulous together and I had quite a few laugh out loud moments courtesy of them both. They meet because of a rather scathing energy drink review and a personal insult that Calliope delivers to baseball sensation Max when he emails her about it. Max is intrigued and sets about to win Calliope over but not because he loves her, of course not! He can and does have any woman he wants – regularly. Calliope is merely another woman he needs to get out of his system. Isn’t she? Calliope has a fear of being heartbroken, actually more of an expectation due to family history. Throw in a new, sexy neighbour who is interested in her and Calliope is well out of her usual boring comfort zone. u2063
I really enjoyed this book and just loved the way that Logan Chance brought Calliope and Max to life. It’s also extremely hot and their chemistry is incredible. Highly recommended!
Very easy reading. Some raunchy sexual content. Max and Calliope are a real opposites attract couple. I found their banter amusing. Some good secondary characters.
I was laughing at the first sentence, and Logan Chance kept me laughing all the way through this delightful book. Calliope, who doesn’t even drink coffee, drinks an energy drink before a presentation and ends up bouncing off the walls, and ruining her interview with a prospective client. Steaming mad, she leaves a very negative review for Max Energy going so far as to hope the baseball player who promotes this drink has a losing season.
From there it is game on, as Max and Calliope go from texting to talking to meeting in person. She thinks he is Satan, ruining her life. He thinks she is adorable.
Logan Chance is a master at writing romantic comedies, and this is my new favorite. I’ve already read it twice!
Logan Chance has hit this out of the Park! And it’s a Home Run!
Logan has done it again with smart and funny characters with this romantic comedy. From the moment the Max and Calliope start to communicate with each other, you see the hot chemistry they have. Max is dirty talking, smoking hot, Professional Baseball player. Calliope is a petite, beautiful independent woman that is stunned by Max’s advances, and finds herself doing things she wouldn’t think of doing. Once I started this I could not put it down. I had to force myself to stop so I could sleep and pick the book back up in the morning. This book gave me a serious book hangover. I Loved it!!! I give this 7 out of 5 stars, something that made Calliope mad and start this adventure.
Cold Hearted Baller is the first book by Logan Chance writing under his pen name LOGAN
LOGAN you definitely surpassed a homerun with this story, you hit a grand slam right out of the park with this book.
Can you imagine doing or writing something out of impulse, disappointment and anger? , regretting it, then having your life change right in front of you with no control? Well get this book on Release and enjoy the ride of you’re life.
This book is a sports romance like no other, it’s hot AF, and still has that rom com and laugh out loud banter that we are so used to with this author. I enjoyed this book from the first page which had me laughing. do much with the h : Calliope ( who is my new girl character crush). In pops Max , who is now nicknamed MAXOGASM By me ….when you read this book you know why he earned that name.
Max and Calliope are pure definition of opposites attract…. or are they? The banter between these two will have you hysterical, the nicknames used are epic, and the sexual chemistry is off the charts scorching.
Even though we get a lot of dirty talking and sexy time this still had a great story behind it with both Max and Calliope afraid of the feelings they’re experiencing, Calliope feels doomed in love from past experiences and Max not comfortable with his superstitions with dating during gaming season. each of them can’t fight the feelings they’re having towards each other and watching them going through the motions has made this book my favorite read this year.
I will never ever look at Snowmen the same again, and when I hear “Homerun” my mind will bring me right back to this particular scene that was one of my favorites in this story, when you read this book you’ll understand.
I can’t recommend this book enough, definitely deserves higher then 5 stars, another brilliant read by Logan Chance
Steamy, sweet, sexy, fantastic fun!!
Holy hotness Batman!! Max and Calliope are en fuego!! So much fantastically, steamy hotness with a huge dollop of sweet tenderness on top. Calliope finds herself magnetically drawn to Max, a man she wants to resist but simply can’t. And Max wants to deny his obsession with her, but he’s as powerless against it as she is. But is it more than sex between them? Can Max break his rules for her? Will Calliope break her family curse? Can Max get his game back? I love this sweet, steamy, dirty, tender, fantabulously wonderful rom-com. You have to meet Max & Calliope. You’ll feel all sunshiney happy afterward! And hot!!
I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I really enjoyed Maxwell and Calliope’s story. Cold Hearted Baller is Logan Chance’s first book under his new pen name Logan. This read was HOT!! Max and his dirty mouth that just gets you hot and bothered. The chemistry between the two was insane.
such a great read. I loved Max’s and Calliope’s story so much. Loved their undeniable chemistry from the beginning . I laughed so much reading this book!
This book ranks in my top 5 reads for the month! Max and Calliope have so much chemistry but Calliope fights it every step of the way to protect her heart. The question is do they have anything in common other than their undeniable chemistry. Max is a pro ball player who has the dirtiest mouth! Calliope owns a bakery in a book store. This book is hilarious and steamy! I can’t recommend this book enough.
As a rule I wouldn’t say that a Logan Chance romance is much different from one written by a woman. In fact I probably wouldn’t guess a man wrote them if I didn’t already know that from the start. But this romance definitely has a manly feel to it. If a man ever wanted to try reading romance, this is the one I envision him starting with.
This story is raw and rugged. There’s no smoothing of the rough edges. It’s dual point of view, but the voice of the alpha-male protagonist Max is the stronger one by far. There’s no romanticizing of the relationship, but it’s genuinely funny how Max pursues Calliope shamelessly and relentlessly, and how she spars with him, knowing she shouldn’t encourage him, yet at the same time unable to ignore him. It’s the challenge and the thrill of the chase that brings them together, the predator and the prey. But there’s a baffling pull between them that they don’t understand.
I gotta say, I loved that opening. I always love a story that features technology. That Skype segment was really funny.
This story seemed like yin yang to me—sort of a mix between how a man would write a romance and a traditional romance. I enjoyed the novelty of it. It’s a fun read, but be aware that it’s down and dirty, and Calliope should definitely choose a safe word… or maybe a hand signal in this case.
This was my first Logan Chance book and I loved it. I found it very entertaining. The banter between Max and Calliope was so funny. They had great chemistry. Since reading this I have read all of Logan’s books so I guess you could say this book was a Grand Slam for me.
Cold Hearted Baller by Logan Chance was definitely a scorcher! There is definitely chemistry between Max and Calliope. My favorite character of the two were Max. I found him to be funny and sexy. For the most part, I liked Calliope, but there were moments I found her to be exasperating. I liked Jill and Tara who are Calliope’s friends. Overall, I enjoyed this book. Logan Chance does a great job of bringing the right type and amount of humor into the story.
This was a quick read and was just what I was looking for to take my mind off the current events for an afternoon. Totally loved Max and Calliope. Between all the laughs, the banter, their chemistry, the dirty talking and the smoking hot sex scenes, I was not disappointed in this book!
Just wow!
I can’t believe I had this book downloaded since its release day and just was able to read it now. Since this past summer, my life has been hectic. And then school started, then came a new puppy. In addition to my adorable and sometimes naughty puppy, the holidays snuck up on me. And when Christmas was in the past, I came down with a three-week version of the flu. But the good thing? I had no scheduled ARCs to get through. When I started feeling up to reading, I grabbed my Kindle and hit the back page to look for something that was older. I stopped immediately after seeing Cold Hearted Baller.
This book is steamy and so funny! I experienced a lot of secondhand embarrassment. I have to say that Logan Chance is an impressive author. This man can write successfully in any genre/trope he chooses. I have read nearly every book he has published; I did see another older one on my Kindle, lol, that I’ll get to very soon because I know I’m missing out if I don’t.
But seriously, not only did Calliope and Max heat up the sheets, those two had me laughing so hard. Max, because he just had no filter! And Calliope’s spontaneity got her into trouble. The best part for me was the believability of their relationship, or lack of one. I felt their connection, I believed their interactions. I loved how despite their initial animosity for each other, they quickly became more than rivals. And watching that relationship evolve and change was one of my favorite aspects of the book.
If you haven’t read this author yet, I truly believe you should. He has books for everyone, different tropes but the same, amazing, writing talent is present in every one. As is usual, I am looking forward to see what Logan Chance gives us next.
This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂
I think this book really shows what it is like when are in the thick of falling in love.
The reason I feel this way is max and calliope were both willing their minds to accept things for what they were or weren’t curses and happily ever after he damned.
This story really did a great job with the secondary characters as well .
Letting you see how true friendships unfold when one starts a relationship you have the bad influence who wants you to take all the risks and the Debbie downer extremely cautious friend. Logan truly made this book come to life with the characters he created. The little inside jokes or jabs between max and calliope won me over. I recommend this book if you like a try hard alpha male with a good amount of comedy ….
I enjoyed the banter between Max and Calliope it was entertaining. The book had some hot sexy content. My only complaint about the book was Calliope was just a little too wishy washy when it comes to what she wants. I definitely want to read more by this author!
