I adore this whole series. Toni weaves together the best of romance with heart stopping suspense and I love the intricacies of her plots!
Toni’s well-written and fast-paced thrillers are some of the best crime fiction I’ve read. Always unpredictable, but what I can count on is a solid, good story with a plot that is believable, and characters I care about.
I read book 1 and really liked it. I decided I should save the rest of the series and only read one occasionally. That was dumb. Life’s too short to save good books when you can read them now. So I binged, reading 9 books in 16 days. It was glorious. I especially enjoy how the main characters from book 1 become supporting characters in book 2, etc. It’s a great way to have some of the continuity of a sequel without the boredom of typical sequels.
Life interfered once or twice, but other than that, I never put one of these down until I finished it.
awsome read a very good read just when you think you figured it out “BAM” another twist…..
To say that I’ve been waiting for Lincoln Frazer to get his book since he first walked into the page in book one would be an understatement. I love the icy cold by the book agent who broke all his rules to protect his job and his coworkers. To see that relationship bloom into true friendship in this book was amazing. The thawing between him and Alex and Mallory (From book 1) was so sweet to see and helped soften him so that his own love story felt more believable. The mystery kept me guessing for ages which is hard for me to admit since I usually figure them out quickly and then stick around for the romance. Not with this one. It was sad and triggering and sometimes hard to read but it was absolutely worth it to see this book through to the end. I can’t wait to see what comes next and now I’ll be waiting for Lucas to get his book!
This audiobook is the fourth book in this series, an awesome Listen. It is dark and places hurt your heart. Serial killers abound with the thrill of the hunt. In spite of Lincoln and Izzy’s tedious romance, the story line is excellent, with the narrator, Eric Dove, being a plus to the story. Another top listen.
I had just finished the first 3 books in this series and couldn’t wait to read this book #4. It didn’t disappoint !
OMG! GRIPPING FROM THE GET GO! Twisted evilness where present and past are firmly entangled. A story that is filled with more turns that will make your head spin. Toni Anderson knows her characters, their fears, their doubts, their insecurities, their strengths. Both also have a healthy respect for professionalism and look to deny attraction that is brewing.
I have loved each book in the COLD JUSTICE series thus far, and still hold a favoured, soft spot for Alex and Mallory… but Lincoln and Izzy… sometimes you find characters that were secondary in previous reads, that you know you need to read their story, to travel on their journey. Toni has woven another stellar book with COLD FEAR!
Toni will take Lincoln and Izzy through a suspenseful and often times frustrating investigative process for our SASC FBI agent. It’s an investigation that holds secrets, intrigue, and much sadness. Time is fast running out to find and stop the evilness of a serial killer. It’s a story that pits two intelligent, highly professional people together who also find themselves attracted to each other. The lengths a murderer goes to divert attention and resources is extraordinary. A story that is beautifully paced as it unfolds its intrigue, mystery and suspense. Another book that showcases the often tedious task of investigative work that the FBI and Police deals with. Investigations that are filled with frustrations, doubts, and more questions, before puzzling answers are solved. Where past and present will collide.
If you love page turning drama, intrigue and love solving crime – then Toni Anderson delivers with COLD FEAR. A beautifully told story, highly recommended for those that love mystery and solving crimes. The entire COLD JUSTICE series is worthy of reading.
Romance and suspense together in one story. A great read
This book asking with the test in the series have just the right amount of suspense and romance, it’s well balanced and the story development keeps you interested enough to not want to put the book down.
Enjoyed reading
The clock is ticking as Agent Frazer counts the down days waiting for the serial killer’s execution.
Then he gets a call. Another serial killer with the same MO. A copycat? A partner?
Izzy works at the hospital helping others while raising her rebellious seventeen yo sibling Kit who is a force to be reckoned with. When news of a serial killer in her area she’s worried her dark secret might be exposed.
There’s a strong magnetic attraction between Frazer and Izzy but neither acts on it due to the cases he is investigating. Loved Izzy’s sassy thoughts concerning Frazer.
Women’s bodies are dropping like flies. The killer seems to be attracted to Izzy and Kit. Can Frazer keep them safe?
Guessing who the killer is will have you doing flip flops. A fantastic story.
The author weaves an intricate web of murder, suspense, betrayal and mystery with a dose of love and a sprinkle of banter.
Serial killers and secrets are a great mix in this thriller. Fraser had to eventually fall in love and Izzy is his perfect match. There is plenty of intrigue in this story and it keeps you turning the pages to find out who the killer really is.
Great suspense thriller. Kept me guessing till the end. The romance part seemed a tad implausible though, but read it for the suspense and it will keep you enthralled till the end.
COLD FEAR is the fourth book in the Cold Justice series. Though each book is a complete story, there is significant involvement from previous characters and couples. I highly suggest and recommend reading all of these stories and in the order of release.
In a story that could be ripped from the headlines, this suspense romance kept me on my toes. I was continuously changing my guesses as to who did what. I was wrong – LOL.
I loved how the clues were metered out. I love the slow burn and build to steamy passion. This is why Toni Anderson is becoming known as a master of suspense romance.
Narration: Eric G. Dove does a beautiful job of creating this story. His power of suspense had me getting to work or home and wondering how I got there. I’m sure I drove safely, but I was also deeply involved in the tale. That is why I listen to audiobooks! A perfectly executed narration.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted audiobook copy, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

This is the fourth book in the Cold Justice Series, a romantic suspense and FBI Thriller. This is a standalone novel in the Series. This story is suspenseful, emotional, gripping, action packed and absolutely captivating. Izzy and Frazer are both great characters. The storyline is filled with unexpected twists and turns. Impossible to put it down! Eric G Dove did an outstanding job with the narration. I enjoyed listening to this story, and I highly recommend it. Now, I can’t wait for the fifth book in this suspenseful Series, Cold in the Shadows.
Well…she did it again! What a great book.
Frazer is such a hard working guy who needs/deserves a love life. Isadora is an ER doctor who has held a horrible secret for years & is now trying to parent her 17 year old rebellious sister. The two are thrown together when her sisters best friend is murdered. They are instantly attracted but both have their own reasons for ignoring that until it reaches the boiling point. Izzy knows her secret will eventually tear them apart but she doesn’t know that someone else already knows her secret…Wow!!!
Although this is the 4th in this series, to me each one of these are individual stories that stand alone, with their own uniqueness & have not been predictable. They are so detailed & interesting that I’m reading every free minute I get to see what happened next, the suspense quickly hooks me & the author does a great job telling the story without veering off-track & including previous characters without them overtaking the new story.
Wow!! So many twists and turns in this story. I was suspecting everybody at some stage. A really well written and intriguing read.
Old & New comes the truth
Izzy has lived with the knowledge that she helped bury two people when she was a teen. She is now raising her 17 sister in the town she ran from, her mom passed so she had to give up her military commission. Agent Frazier got a call from Agent Rooney, her friend & fellow agent Lucas needs help. A young teenager & her boyfriend where attacked, the boy survived, because of Izzy, but the girl died. She was friends with Izzy’s little sister. It’s has a connection to a man in death row.
On the edge between life and death, members of a small community live and die. Some are born. Some move there- some move away. Some destroy each other.
On the edge of the killing, secrets and misinformation, or at least incorrectly assessed information, lead to killing secrets, death and betrayal.
Can any love that isn’t twisted survive there?
