The frigid waters of the Pacific Northwest are about to get hot… she knows to take her back to the bottom of the cold Salish Sea.
Luke wants nothing to do with the woman who destroyed his career a dozen years ago but finds it impossible to turn his back on her plea. Caught off-guard by an attraction he doesn’t want to feel, he’s eager to be done with this mission of mercy. But when they dive on the wreck, he only gets sucked in deeper. Someone has been digging on the Navy sub…and it appears the explosion that almost killed Undine was no accident.
To find the truth, Undine must navigate murky waters and the unexpectedly hot undercurrents swirling between her and Luke. Worse, divers are searching for something lost in US waters during the Cold War, and they’ll do anything to keep Luke and Undine from finding it first.

I’m continuing to roll through the Evidence series by Rachel Grant and thoroughly enjoying every page. Cold Evidence, book 6, involves Undine Gray, an underwater archeologist, and Luke Sevick, former SEAL and now a marine biologist. They have a very tumultuous past, which makes their chemistry very fraught with tension. Delicious, delicious tension…
I am a huge fangirl for Rachel Grant’s books and this one was no exception. They always bring an intelligent and strong heroine and a strong and emotionally mature hero together in emotionally satisfying ways. So good! I love that these books explore fascinating settings and interesting scientific developments. I always feel like I’m learning something while I’m swept away by the adventure and romance.
The books in this series are standalone stories, but I’ve been reading them in order and since some of the previous characters pop up in new books, I would recommend starting at book 1. You won’t be able to stop…
I got thoroughly engrossed in this tale of archaeology, espionage, and heroes past and present. As a diver, I loved all the technical details – the amount of research done by the author clearly showed. The stories had many layers of intrigue, both in the background of Luke and Undine’s relationship and in the mystery of the Wrasse, a decommissioned submarine that ended up at the bottom of the sea.
A great story, full of twists and turns, with a satisfying happily-ever-after and plenty of explosions. I’d recommend this and the other books in the Evidence series for fans of romantic suspense.
Fabulous characters in a story that are so real it’s like you are right there with them. Yes even in the the steamy sections. Rachel uses the perfect blend of real and fiction it seems possible for this to be really be happening. Perfect balance of drama, action, sex and violence made for a incredible adventure to read. Can’t wait for the next one. Thank you
What an amazing story. A little bit too embellished every now and than which made it a bit like bubble gum, though every sentence is needed for the story, Bit nevertheless exorbitant. And just when you think, all’s set and done, the “thing” has been eliminated and everyone lives happily ever after, you have another thing coming. Didn’t expect that, which makes for a fabulous, talented writer. Keep going. Love this series.
As always with this author’s books they are well researched and exciting. I gave the story four stars because of the under age aspect of Luke and Undines backstory. I think the story could have been equally compelling if Undine had been of age but still young enough that her father would be mad enough to wreck Luke’s career. Other than that, steamy, exciting, and strong heroines,
I couldn’t put this book down.
Not my fav of Rachel Grant’s books , but still enjoyable.
Undine is a Navy underwater archeologist, they are trying to raise a sub that sank in the ‘60’s. Her father is a famous marine biologist and she got caught with a twenty-two year old when she was sixteen. Luke is former Navy SEAL and had his dream destroyed by Undine. Now they are forced to work together and find out who blew up the boat Undine was working on. When someone tries to kill Undine, Luke is tasked with protecting her and finding out about the Russian submarine. Can they put the past behind them and move forward?
Action, sex, suspense. I’m not for sure if my review made any sense but I tried. The story was exciting but I didn’t understand some of the words.
