I was impressed with this book. I loved the plot. It kept me on edge throughout the book. It has wonderful character’s. I want to read more from this author and her works. It has a great love story developing in the mix too. I love how the author writes too!
Good Read, well written
Interesting book about the Canadian winter festivals. It also involved murder and you are not sure of different people until the end. Light romance which is nice, nothing to heavy.
I liked this book. Lots of twists and turns. It kept me reading late into the night.
I loved this book…it captured me right from the first page until the last.
Great read
I loved this book. A.J., you are an excellent writer!
Extremely well written. Intriguing story.
Holds you in its grip page after page
I really enjoyed reading the book Cold Betrayal, it was a excellent suspense/thriller. A easy and fast read, full of intrigue and lots of layers to the plot lines in the story. I loved the two main characters in the story, and will certainly read more books from this author. I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys suspense/thrillers.
Dramatic and Intense
McCarthy pens a remarkable story in Cold Betrayal, and that title explains the story. With that, there is a lot more in this story. There are different layers of depths and plot lines. Victoria “Tori” is a strong character and gives the story a lot of power, and she interacts with a lot of seedy characters. I really liked McCarthy’s writing style and how she tells a story. The premise is unique and this reader, like Tori, never knows who to trust. Enter in the drug lord, and it gives more depth to the story. This was one page-turner that I won’t soon forget, and I hope to read more by this author.
Oh, dear. I was annoyed by the main character Tori every few pages. The author did try to portray her as naive and perhaps blinded by loyalty but ultimately Tori is not bright to the point of stupidity in so many situations.
While I’m not super-familiar with the Canadian justice system there were a lot of holes in this plot especially on the police procedures side.
I read it all the way through, though, I always feel if someone took the time to write it and I was initially intrigued about the plot I need to finish reading the book.
And the ending made me cringe. The idiot damsel has to be rescued by the Prince right down to the shoe that fits. meh
A great read full of adventure, betrayal, a murderous brother, a loyal-to-a-fault sister, and the poor love-struck detective stuck between them – all wrapped in a foot of snow (or more).
Meh!!! I almost wasn’t going to finish this one. On pg97, I told myself if this doesn’t get better real soon, I’m dumping it. As fate would have it, on pg102, it suddenly got a little more interesting. At least interesting enough for me to continue reading it but, 50pgs later I still asking myself why I’m still reading this one. I really didn’t like any of the characters, especially Tori – UUUGGGHHH!!! I know I’m in the minority here but this just wasn’t exciting enough for me to rate it any higher.
Great book, plenty of suspense and mystery.
Enjoyable read, kept your attention throughout the book!
loved the suspense and twists
I didn’t care for it. Very predictable.
The main character in this book was so unbelievably stupid I almost didn’t finish the book. I did finish the book and my only thought was if anyone deserved to be knocked off for being a moron it was her.
It was ok I didn’t get into it until I was about 3/4 through it
