ok book. didn’t like the ending
I would not recommend this book.
The synopsis was more interesting than the book. Kept turning pages in hopes of the plot becoming more interesting. The author had a great idea regarding the synopsis but the further I read into the book, the more disappointed I became.
It was quite an unusual story-line
This is about a young girl whose mother dies and her father takes her out of school to take care of the baby and help in the family business. The family business is arson for hire.
Depressing and raw; I don’t recommend it.
Quick read, but difficult subject. Tragic.
Oh gosh-Do you want to get to know any of these people in person? Probably not, but the main character has been given a lot of depth and details that make me think the author must know her or be her! And if neither knowing nor being her, then the author has done a great job thinking about motivation and presenting it in a totally believable way.
This was a disturbing book! I would not recommend it. I did not like the ending or the entire book. I had a hard time getting through it
Did not like the book. Couldn’t finish it. I tried to read it but it was too slow and uninteresting.
I have never read a story like this. The characters are odd and unpredictable. I feel so sorry for Jody and Alicia. They were led a dogs life and denied a childhood. Sam was too, but to a lesser extent. Sam was one of the boys and his Dad looked out for him and not at all for Jody and Alicia. I can’t say everyone got what they deserved, but I could understand why they did what they did in the end.
Was a waste of time. I had hoped it would get better.
Great read but the end was difficult
Such a dysfunctional family.
Psychopaths with little redeeming value. I felt sorry for them but didn’t enjoy reading about them
Wish I had not read it
Good read!
Totally depressing
I thought the ending was to abrupt.
