Mackenzie “Kiki” Forbes finds herself in a pickle. Either become her snarky sister’s nanny, or move halfway across the country to work as assistant-to-the-stylist of a country music star. Neither job sounds ideal, although bedazzling cowboy boots may be a hell of a lot more interesting than ironing her brother-in-law’s underwear. But life on the road as the errand coffee girl for a sold-out tour … sold-out tour leaves much to be desired. That is, until Kiki meets her sinfully sexy new boss’s boss…
Tatum Reed’s career is flying high. He’s up for country music’s Entertainer of the Year and he’s headed out on a nationwide sold-out tour. So why does he feel like it’s all about to implode? His superstar ex-girlfriend seems determined to make his life difficult, his opening act is a handful, and the new girl on his tour, the feisty brunette, is quickly getting under his skin. In this crazy world of showbusiness Tatum needs to learn who he can trust, but that doesn’t come easily, because the one person who holds all the cards may just throw them down and walk away.
Life in the public eye is never all it’s cracked up to be, which has both Kiki and Tatum questioning what they’re really doing with their careers, and their hearts.
REVIEWS
“This book hits all of my contemporary romance buttons: hot sex, adorable banter, a fun supporting cast, gleeful highs and heartbreaking lows. There were several moments when I wanted to smack Kiki upside the head, but love can make even the smartest among us into idiots at times, and I couldn’t fault her for those moments.
Coffee Girl got this reviewer out of a weeks-long reading slump. If you’ve ever been in one of those, you know it takes a certain kind of read to get you out of it. This book did it for me. Five enthusiastic, rhinestone-studded stars.” -Colleen Vanderlinden

Hands down to this amazing book!! Words can’t describe how much I love this book. I went through so much emotions from fangirling moments, laughing my ass off, heart aching, rolling my eyes and o.m.g moments. I started this yesterday last night and binge it all day today!
The angsty got me emotionally wrecked where my heart tore apart! Of course, can’t go without mentioning the hottness which I really did some imagining…I really loved all the characters, even the cruel ones, it was just overall just perfectly written in every direction and points in the story. I’m dying to get The Makeup Artist but gotta wait now…but no doubt I will hope to own a physical copy of this book too!
I will now want to read any books by Sophie Sinclair’s!! Please check out this book if you haven’t yet, highly recommend it if you love a lot of flirty funny banters too
Coffee Girl by Sophie Sinclair a five-star read you need to throw yourself at. What a read, I have avoided Rockstar romance of late as it just felt a little overdone, but I picked this up just as I love coffee and the title sounded cool, I am so glad I did, honestly I cant wait to get my teeth into number two and to start stalking this new to me author. This just made me smile so hard, and it was exactly what I needed at the time I picked it up, It dropped to my kindle at lunch time and I snuck a few pages in while I finished work, then started it the moment I finished, one positive of lockdown no commute so more reading time, I finished this that night and I was sad that it was over. I felt bereft that I wouldn’t see Tatum and Kiki his coffee girl, or any of the band members and the team again, as at that point I didn’t realise there was going to be a second story, I was just a hopeful reader. Its rare that I fall this deeply for an author new to me, I usually enjoy a first novel and then get deeper with the more I read, but I don’t know Sophie Sinclair just wowed me with her words and the depth she created in the characters even the most shallow of Rockstar’s, I cant wait to hear more about.
Starting to hang out at coffee shops!!!
Coffee Girl by Sophie Sinclair is quickly becoming one of my favorites. … and I have a new author to follow. This is a solid character driven story that is well crafted and a great first in series book.
What did I like about it? The characters and the sweet storyline
Ms. Sinclair has done a really great job of creating relatable characters that I loved or loved to hate. Main characters Tatum and Kiki are ones I hope to see in future books.
Tatum is a serious country singer on the rise. He’s got a solid group of guys in his band but he’s trying to make it even bigger and he’s got girl troubles with fans who love to see him with Savannah, an opener who put the word mean in Mean Girls, and a manager who is doing everything to help him realize his dream. … but he’s quickly realizing that much of this is a bit empty.
Kiki has taken a job with the band, well below her skill level. She’s got a tough boss, is starting to form a solid friendship, and has somehow drawn the attention of the women in Tatum’s circle who are vying for his full attention … and she’s just had a run in at a coffee shop with a hot hunk.
This is set up really well to be a solid series and I am hoping (please, please) that Sarah and Lex are next!
Supporting characters really move the story along and make this book. If you’re looking for your next read and want to get into a well crafted character driven story, download this book.
I received an ARC. This is my honest review.

Coffee Girl by Sophie Sinclair
You read a title of a book and you instantly know that the book is your kind of story. That was me and Coffee Girl. I mean seriously Coffee Girl; it was meant to be. This story has all my favorites in it. The over the top gay best friend, tormented kitty, the crazy out of touch sister, a brother with a huge heart and the super supportive friend. The book is filled with such great characters! I haven’t even begun to tell you about the main characters Mackenzie “Kiki” Forbes and Tatum Reed.
I can’t remember the last time I found this kind of instant love of a book. I made the mistake of starting the book later in the evening. (Don’t do that friends) You will need to read this whole book in one sitting. I stayed up until the early hours of the morning so I could finish it! Kiki and Tatum’s story, has it all!
It is hard to believe this a debut novel for Sophie Sinclair. The story line is perfectly plotted with well thought out characters. The story doesn’t ever drag. At the start of the book my first thought of Tatum was dude is a dick, I am not going to like this guy, I kind of wanted to punch him in the face. As the interaction between him and Kiki move forward you are rooting for him.
This is not your typical music star romance and I couldn’t ask for a more brilliantly written one. I could not have asked for a better Meet Cute, honestly running into someone and spilling coffee down your shirt is totally something that would happen to me. Frankly a day doesn’t go by that there isn’t coffee somewhere on my shirt. This is an amazing book and story by Sinclair and I simply can not wait for her next novel. Grab a cup of coffee and be ready to fall in love with Kiki and Tatum. This book has earned everyone of the 5/5 stars!
So I am way late posting this review since I read this book at the end of June, but let me tell you I loved it!
Sophie Sinclair is a new to me author and I really enjoyed Coffee Girl. I’m looking forward to reading more books from her and the rest of this series!
This was a fun one about a girl who works in the fashion industry and ends up in need of a job. Her new employer is a super popular country star and he’s sexy to boot. It was so fun, full of banter, and the characters were adorably lovable. I can’t wait to read more!
This book hooks you quickly, and I was captivated by the first page. I am probably a little biased because it is based in my hometown, and I am a huge country music fan. Even if you don’t like country, this is an adorable rom-com! Kiki is so relatable, and her inner thoughts are ON POINT. The character development happens perfectly as the story moves along. I love plot-driven books, and this did not disappoint. Some of the scenes had me laughing out loud (and blushing there is a HILARIOUS scene with leather pants!) Their relationship happens fast, but it so much more than just being physical. There is a sweet scene where they talk about what songs they listen to when they are feeling different emotions. Kiki’s insecurities (why would someone famous want me?) got a tad repetitive, but it just showed what a good support system she has in her friends Sarah and TJ. Anyone would have the same insecurities.
I love it a latte!
Kiki is so cute! She’s a sweetie that has a problem keeping her foot out of her mouth! Too often her inner thoughts are accidentally let out. So many awkward moments that make you cringe but laugh because you’re glad it’s not you!
Tatum is a smooth hottie country star and he knows it. But he has a good heart and a good team around him.
The ups and downs on their tour to their happily ever after is so sweet and fun!
Oh, I loved this one! Kiki and Tatum – two people with totally different lives – who end up falling for each other.
This book had all the feels, with some humour, as well. I loved Kiki’s inner dialogue, made me laugh a lot.
A sweet romance, leaving you feeling all warm and fuzzy! Can’t wait to read Sarah and Lex’s story next.
When Kiki Forbes loses her job as a stylist for a men’s magazine in LA, she knows she needs to find another job and fast. LA living isn’t cheap, but it’s hard to find a good job using her skills. After her sister offers her $8 an hour to be her family’s “nanny”, Kiki knows she needs help and fast! When she reaches out to her brother Cam, she never expected that she’d get to be a stylist’s assistant for a country music group. Uprooting her life, she heads to Nashville, country music’s Mecca, to work as a stylists assistant.
She knows nothing about fashion for country music stars other than everything needs to be bedazzled. But at this point anything will be better than ironing her sister’s tennis outfits, or even worse, her brother-in-law’s boxers.
Cue “Coffee Girl”. The band’s stylist didn’t need or want help, so she relegates all the tasks, like getting everyone coffee, to Kiki. Coming back from one such run, she gets knocked around, with coffee falling all over her white outfit and Converse shoes. Later on, she finds out that the guy who helped her is none other than her new boss, lead singer Tatum Reed.
Tatum’s life is going well, at least professionally. They’re heading out on a sold-out tour, their songs are killing it, and he’s up for Entertainer of the Year. Now he’s just got to wait until after the awards show so that he and his ex-girlfriend can make their break up public. He can’t wait until his cheating ex is out of his life for good and he no longer has to deal with her drama.
When Kiki and Tatum meet, sparks fly. It’s a wonderful, sweet, yet snarky connection, and I absolutely loved it! This story has great writing, wonderful characters, and hot story line! I would definitely recommend if you’re a fan of contemporary romance, rom-coms, and rocker romance.
**I read using my Kindle Unlimited subscription
Coffee Girl was a heart warming rom-com and I’m so glad I read it. I really enjoyed Kiki and Tatum. They had great chemistry and Tatum was such a sweet guy right from the start. I also really liked Kiki’s friends Sarah and TJ. This story had just the right amount of drama, not too much and not too little. I also enjoyed the country music and Nashville setting. You don’t see many stories centered around that, at least for “rockstar romances”, so that was different and nice. Overall this was a good read and introduction to Sinclair as an author.
This book was sexy, heartbreaking, and had me hooked from page one. I couldn’t put it down! I loved how the connection between them played out into something more. It had me laughing out loud between Tatum and Kiki’s adorable banter, Kiki’s nervousness, and her best friend. Give me all the cats, Friends references, and sexy country music stars, please! <3 Mee-ow
For me, this was only an OK read since I like my h’s to be emotionally stronger characters. Maybe because of her age, but Kiki’s lack of self confidence got to be annoying for me. Most of the angst came from Kiki’s insecurities. Tatum was an extremely patient and understanding H. Great secondary characters although sister Brooke was a bit over the top. Love the cover.
I received a free copy from Netgalley. This is my unbiased review.
I started reading Coffee Girl when I saw it (and The Makeup Artist) posted on Instagram and thought I’d give them a try.
I’ll be honest; I didn’t like it at first. The dialogue started out a little young for me, and I wondered if maybe my daughter should be reading the book instead of me. I think this was a personal issue though. But…as I continued with the story, I got lost in Kiki’s personality. I enjoyed her nervous banter and watching her get flustered. I think that’s something we’re all guilty of at times. I also loved the scene when she mixed up her text messages and sent something to Tatum that was meant for TJ (her best friend.) Hysterical! We’ve all either done the same thing or are afraid we will!
The flirty banter between Tatum and Kiki was another plus. I’m a sucker for funny and/or sarcastic banter. She also wrote great secondary characters. I actually heard Lex’s Irish accent in my head as I was reading and TJ jumped off the page, though a little irritating at times.
Overall, I really liked it and have already started the second in the series! A quick, fun read for sure!
I hate to admit it, but I was hesitant to read this book. Not that I have anything against the writer; I’ve never read any of her books before and like to check out many different authors. Mainly, I hesitated because I’m not really a country music fan, and didn’t think I could relate to a story built around a country music superstar singer.
Wow, was I wrong! The writer, Sophie Sinclair, has changed my mind about country music (and taught me I need to be a little more open-minded in the future!)
This is a story about Mackenzie–nicknamed KiKi and Tatum. Kiki was a stylist in Los Angeles but was downsized. She lands a temporary job as an assistant stylist for the country music superstar singer Tatum and his band while they go on tour. She immediately feels an attraction for Tatum. He shows an interest in her, too, but despite this, Kiki won’t let herself believe that there could be anything between them, especially since Tatum has a long time girlfriend named Savannah who is also a country music singer. Yet things aren’t always as the media make them seem, especially when it comes to celebrity relationships, as Kiki learns.
I also loved one of the secondary characters — Kiki’s best friend TJ. He’s such a hoot!
I loved Sinclair’s writing style in this book. She used humor, circumstances and timing to keep me turning the page and wanting more. I especially loved the dialogue between Kiki and Tatum. Their bantering kept me laughing throughout the book. Sinclair fully developed the relationship between Kiki and Tatum, and I finished the book feeling like the story came to its natural conclusion. (Lately, I’ve been reading a lot of books where the author has rushed the ending, and I finish thinking “Wait? Is that all there is? Shouldn’t there be something more?”)
I enjoyed this book so much that I’m now diving into the second book in the series, “The Makeup Artist.” Can’t wait to read about the adventures of one of Tatum’s bandmates — Lex — and Kiki’s friend Sarah.
Go check it out–a great book! And like me, you might find that you are now creating a playlist of country music!
4 stars
This was a quick, cute, and light read. Just what I needed after all the heavy stuff I seemed to have picked up lately. I liked the main characters and the authors writing. Will definitely read the next one in the series.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
An enjoyable and entertaining read:
I don’t usually go for celebrity music stories but thankfully this was more than just a groupie fan falling for the star. There were plenty of misunderstandings and challenges to overcome, not least of which was the fact that Tatum was Kiki’s boss and hence off limits. You could really feel their connection and their journey came across as real and authentic.
I enjoyed the humor and banter. There was also tons of drama and I didn’t care for all of the back stabbing, but sadly I guess it goes with the territory. What I did really enjoy was the epilogue and post epilogue and appreciated that the author took the time to wrap things up and set the stage for the remainder of the series. I already have the next book lined up and can’t wait to see what happens next with this group of friends.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.
I’ve seen this book all over Instagram for a while. I don’t know why I waited to so long to read it! Thank you @netgalley for the copy. I loved this story so much. It grabbed my attention from the very beginning! I couldn’t put the book down! There was no over the top drawn out drama either! I cannot wait to read the next book in the series!!!

I’m a coffee girl myself so I couldn’t pass this title without finding out more. Double this with a sexy country singer and you have an amazing story! This was my first book from the author and I’m looking forward to more of her stories!
Kiki works as a stylist at a men’s magazine. Because of budget cuts, she finds herself fired and in need of a job. Her two options: become a nanny for her obnoxious sister or work as an assistant for a country singer’s stylist. Since her sister is a pain, she decides to work for the country star. Tatum Is the mentioned country star. He recently got out of a toxic relationship and he’s getting ready for a tour, so distractions are the last thing he needs. However, from the first time he sees Kiki, he feels the urge to get to know her.
Their friendship and after relationship are not easy. He’s a public figure and she’s an ordinary girl. The situation with his ex just makes things even more difficult. There are happy times, sexy times but also hurt. These two will have to go through much before finally getting their HEA.
What I didn’t anticipated and was a nice surprise was the update at the end. The author gave us a glimpse of how everyone ended up after the last chapter. I’m happy to see that Sarah is getting her story. I’ll be looking for “The Makeup Artist”!!!
Coffee Girl is an entertaining and satisfying story about the country music industry.
I love stories about musicians and life on the road, so this was a perfect read.
This story is about Tatum, country music’s hottest star. He is a big flirt and he is also sexy, charming and an all around nice guy. Tatum has had to make many sacrifices for his fame and sometimes, he wonders if it is all worth it.
After losing her job as a stylist for a magazine, Kiki has no choice but to take a job as an assistant to Tatum’s stylist. It is a demotion, but Kiki has bills to pay and no other job offers on the horizon. Kiki has no interest in county music and no idea who Tatum is when she first meets him.
Tatum and Kiki are immediately attracted to each other but it seems one thing or another keeps them apart. I liked these two together and hoped they would work things out. This is an Intoxicating love story with great dynamics between the characters. I enjoyed the behind the scenes look at the music industry and what life on the road is really like.
Thanks to the author for providing a copy of this book via Cocktails and Books and Netgalley. The opinions expressed are my own.
Kiki has just about given up on men, when she is trust into the world of country music star Tatum. He’s totally out of her league, but she can’t deny the attraction. Only she’s not sure if all his flirting is just his natural charming behavior or it’s true feelings. Filled with self doubt, only fueled even further when women of his past throw it in her face, Kiki has to decide if she wants to trust the star or move on before things get too involved. Plenty of up and downs. Quite a bit of humor. Some sexy times. A little swooniness. The characters are fun. Of course there are the typical ‘mean girl’ or two. It’s a pretty fun read, though it did get redundant abit with how Kiki’s character was constantly reminding us how she was a nobody and a big star like Tatum couldn’t possible like her. I could have done with less of that, but otherwise it was an enjoyable read. It alternates between POVs.
