In this classic Cold War thriller, #1 New York Times bestselling author Ken Follett puts his own electrifying twist on the space race between the U.S. and the Soviet Union. January, 1958—the darkest hour of the Cold War and the early dawn of the space race. On the launch pad at Cape Canaveral sits America’s best hope to catch up with the Russians: the Explorer I satellite. But at the last moment, the launch is delayed due to weather, even though everyone can see it is a perfectly sunny day.
The real reason for the delay rests deep in the mind of a NASA scientist who has awoken that morning to find his memory completely erased. Knowing only that he’s being followed and watched at every turn, he must find the clues to his own identity before he can discover who is responsible. But even more terrible is the dark secret that they want him to forget. A secret that can destroy the Explorer I—and America’s future. . . .

Not one of Follett’s best. Fun read to pass the time.
Who knew our space program was infiltrated with Russian spies?
This book had me guessing to the end. Well written and easy to read.
Anything Ken Follett writes is a 5 in my estimation!
As usual, with Ken Follett books, the book was one I could hardly put down. I have just started another of his.
Not up to Follett’s usual standards
Great read by a big-time author and story teller. Highly recommend it!
Excellent, typical of this author. I like all of his books.
Pretty good yarn, but hot up to the writing level I’ve seen in his historical books. His British English betrayed him here and there with phrases we don’t normally use in American English. I liked the story, but these little things were a bit irritating.
As a child of the space race, I could combine the history I knew with this very plausible twist. It is a real page turner.
about 1/3 as good as Pillars of the EARTH
Enjoyed the historical perspective. Enjoy Ken Follet historical novels
Fast paced, easy read. I would recommend if you’re looking for a well written book to entertain you.
Ah, Ken Follett; he is the master of spy writing. Ever since I read and then saw The Eye of the Needle in the early 1980’s, I can never open a novel by him without a frisson of anticipation in reading a story well-told. Code to Zero did not disappoint. It centers around the Cold War years of the late 1950’s and the USA’s trying to outdo the Russian Sputnik launch by a rocket launch in what was then called Cape Canaveral, Fla. Excellent, well-written story, sure to satisfy.
Standard fare well written. Fun read in the midst of more challenging books.
Like all of his books: interesting, fascinating and fast to the very end. Fun!
I thought it was a great read.
Like most of his books..you end up wanting more!
Shallow characters but the science or rockets was good.
Great! Another winner by Ken Follett
