In this classic Cold War thriller, #1 New York Times bestselling author Ken Follett puts his own electrifying twist on the space race between the U.S. and the Soviet Union. January, 1958—the darkest hour of the Cold War and the early dawn of the space race. On the launch pad at Cape Canaveral sits America’s best hope to catch up with the Russians: the Explorer I satellite. But at the last moment, the launch is delayed due to weather, even though everyone can see it is a perfectly sunny day.
The real reason for the delay rests deep in the mind of a NASA scientist who has awoken that morning to find his memory completely erased. Knowing only that he’s being followed and watched at every turn, he must find the clues to his own identity before he can discover who is responsible. But even more terrible is the dark secret that they want him to forget. A secret that can destroy the Explorer I—and America’s future. . . .

A well written and plotted book in the early Ken Follett tradition.
Another great Follett book. Have never found one that was bad.
I found this book forgetable, though I’ve really enjoyed all of his others.
Follett just makes you want to keep reading. Always learn great history with his novels!
I love all of Follett’s books. Sometimes I hate when I’m finished as I will be missing my friends.
Classic Ken Follett–before he started writing about history. A cold war mystery wrapped up in the space race.
Excellent reading
I thought some of the logical deductions were very illogical.
I love Ken Follet’s books. I read this a long time ago so my memory of it has faded!
Good read. Keeps you interested. I love every book written by Ken Follett.
I didn’t w.ant to put it down. Interesting premise and some fun facts about NASA. I enjoyed references to 10 cent calls in a phone booth and remembering what it was like before cell phones.
Follett writes a fast pace thriller that is relevant even today.
Ken Follett always does a fine job with historical stories…this one set in the early rocket days of the cold war era. I love the way he presents spies and counterspies and keeps me guessing which side they’re on, though the main character feels solid. Seemed a fast-moving race against the clock to save the US and the space program from falling into enemy hands.
GREAT WRITER
A page Turner from beginning to end.Great Writer!!!
Very good book. Well written.
Very well written, it maintains your attention and you don’t want to put it down. Great story
I am a fan of Ken Follett but his books often require a greater time commitment than I can make sometimes. This book is as intriguingly written as all of his books are but it is not quite the monolith (in a good way) that many of his other books are. I was glad to find Code to Zero. It as all of the author’s background research but in a compact story.
Page turner
I am a big Ken Follett fan, have been for many years. HIs earlier, shorter books like this one are very entertaining. If you like Eye of the Needle and his other earlier works, you will like this one too…
