What Detective Brady St. John really needs is a relaxing vacation. Unfortunately, just as the sun is setting on his second day at a friend’s cabin on Lake Henley, he hears a scream and races to rescue a woman from her would-be killer. When the killer escapes only to return to finish the job, Brady vows to utilize all of his many resources to keep her safe–and catch those who would see her dead.… dead.
Financial crimes investigator Emily Chastain doesn’t trust many people. And even though she let the detective who saved her life in on a few pertinent facts about why she was being attacked, there are some things you just don’t share with a stranger. Little does she suspect that the secret she is keeping just might get them both killed.
Bestselling and award-winning author Lynette Eason sends readers on a race for the truth in this heart-stopping story of risk, regret, and redemption.

Well written, good plot and characters. Nice engaging and fast read. Great for a busy schedule
Talk about a spinning tale. Who’s trying to kill and who’s protecting? That’s the question as you spin through this fast paced standalone read in the series about this law enforcement family. The siblings are close and family comes first as they battle against the darkness that seems to come from all angles. This of course while catches Brady as he tries to take some time to relax and recoup. Those plans go bye bye when he hears screams. She is just doing her job when a blast from the past triggers a search that leads her right into danger and right into Brady’s path. The question becomes do they want her dead or alive. Plenty of action and family keep you turning the pages for more. I like this author’s style and she keeps it clean. I am disappointed that the entire series isn’t in ku that just seems wrong but what can you do.
I am really enjoying the Blue Justice series. Book one is my favorite of the series, so far, however, books two and three have both been very good, too.
I really enjoyed how scuba diving was incorporataed into this story. There was, of course, lots of danger and intrigue, as well. The heroine had a very interesting back story that made me really feel for her. She had overcome a lot and even though she had overcome many things, she still struggled with her body image at times. It was refreshing to read about this character.
I love all of Lynette’s books, but Code of Valor has a special place in my heart. Members of the Carrington Dive Team from my Dive Team Investigations series make a cameo appearance and come to the aid of Brady St. John. 🙂 And if you love Brady, be sure to keep an eye out for him in my final Dive Team Investigations book, One Final Breath, when it releases in September 2019. 🙂
Brady is a modern-day knight-in-shining-armor and I love that hardwired protective personality in a hero. His drive to rescue and shield makes him a successful detective/dive team member!
Emily is a numbers gal, cautious, and crazy smart. Her painful past has taught her to muscle through difficulties in order to accomplish what is necessary. Emily is the kind of character readers hope and cheer for!
The diving aspects of this story are completely fascinating but most of all, I am loving the St. John family dynamics! I highly recommend this entire series so far and encourage you to binge read them all!
I borrowed an ebook of this title through a paid subscription service. The opinions expressed are my own.
Intense! If you like suspense and aren’t bothered breading about murder and blood, you will want to read Code of Valor! Emily is a brave female protagonist trying to find out what has happened to her close friend, Heather! Although estranged from her mother and sister, Emily will do anything to protect them when their lives are threatened. Brady is a detective who is angry with God and not looking for romance after his former girlfriend ended up being a drug addict. Code of Valor has lots of action and danger. Emily shows that everyone needs a chance to turn to God. I recommend Code of Valor to those who enjoy books involving police and detectives. I received an e-book through NetGalley. This is my honest opinion.
Code of Valor is a fast-paced suspense containing some intense scenes that are quite descriptive. From beginning to end, there is no lag time in this story. Eason’s writing is tight and detailed, showing her powerful skills with a pen or keyboard as it nowadays.
Even though I read the first two novels, I had a hard time keeping up with all of the characters in this one. There are a lot of them; good guys and bad guys. I’m still not sure I completely understand the complexity of the wrap-up other than it was about money but it’s still a page-turner I recommend to fans of Christian contemporary suspense.
My friend, Rebecca, sent me a paperback copy but I also received an electronic copy from the publisher through Netgalley. No review required. No compensation received.
Lynette Eason is one of my favorite romantic suspense authors. When she says she has a book coming out, I’m already looking for the release date and anticipating getting the book in my hand. That was no different with Code of Valor.
From the opening scene, I was hooked. There was plenty of action in this novel, that kept me turning the pages and holding my breath. The romance was authentic and kept me enthralled as Emily and Brady tried to figure out if a relationship was worth the risk.
*I received a complimentary copy from the publisher. My review was not required nor influenced.
Code of Valor is a fabulous addition to Lynette Eason’s Blue Justice series. This installment is my favorite of the series. Brady and Emily’s story is full of action, adventure, mystery and suspense. I could not the book down and had it read in one day.
I give Code of Valor four and a half stars. I recommend this book, as well as, the rest of the Blue Justice series for those who love to read mystery and suspense.
I received this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.
‘I am loved. I am God’s. I am made in His image and I will not feel ashamed.’
I am thoroughly enjoying Lynette Eason’s ‘Blue Justice’ series. The St. John family of law enforcement are totally intriguing. This one features Brady St. John, who is enjoying two weeks of much needed vacation when he hears a scream out on the lake by the cabin he’s staying in. Of course, he investigates and finds a woman thrown off a boat, who would have been killed had he not been there and taken action. Emily has been kidnapped, but hasn’t any idea what the kidnappers want from her. From here on in, the story races, full of suspense and non-stop action. The previous books featuring the St. John daughters were great, but these St. John men…boy, they make great heroes.
Eason is at her finest here with a plot that lets no clue for the reader. I tried with all my might to figure out what was going on, but was still completely surprised at the culprit and the reasoning behind their madness. Bravo! I can’t wait for the next book!
*My thanks to the publisher for a complimentary copy of this book via Net Galley. All opinions are my own.
Code of Valor is book three in the Blue Justice series following the St. Johns, a family of law enforcement officers. In Code of Valor, we delve into Brady St. John’s life. He’s taking a much needed vacation from his stressful job as a detective, but his relaxation doesn’t last long when he hears a woman’s scream and rushes headlong into danger to save her. Now caught up in the danger that’s coming for Emily, he’ll do whatever it takes to solve this mystery and protect the intriguing Emily Chastain.
Eason’s books never fail to grab me right from the start and take me on a wild, heart-pounding ride that never lets up. Code of Valor is no exception. The danger was palpable and had my nerves on edge. It took me a little bit to connect with Emily, but once she opened up about her past and I understood her better, I really came to like her.
After three full-length books and one novella, I’ve really come to love the St. John family and can’t wait for my next suspense-filled encounter with them.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher and voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and comments are my honest opinion.
In the third Blue Justice series book, meet police detective Brady St. John as he attempts to relax and recover on vacation. Unfortunately for him but truly miraculous for Emily Chastain, financial investigator, who has stumbled into the crosshairs of a network of malevolent men. Time is against them but Brady’s siblings are definitely in their corner as they race to discover who the bad guys are, their connection to each other and the location of another woman they caught.
From page one, paragraph one, you will be captured by the intense drama and will want to learn more about the incredible and brave St. John family. Emily and Brady have nightmares and baggage of their own to unpack and resolve. While doing so, they remind us that God is there for us whether we are at our best or our worst.
I eagerly await the next volumes in this series by Lynette Eason.
I received a complimentary copy of the book without obligation. This review is my own opinion.
“You really have no idea how beautiful you are, do you?”
Emily Chastain has overcome so many obstacles; one of which is her daily struggle to maintain any semblance of an healthy self image, so many experiences from her teen years silently taunting her with half-truths and lies. It’s a good thing that she’s a fighter, because when her past barrels uninvited into her present, her best friend goes missing, and she’s kidnapped and drugged, it’s going to take more than acute financial investigative skills to stay alive . . .. along with her hero several times over . . . . Detective Brady St. John.
Brady St. John is supposedly on a quiet vacation when terrorizing screams break the evening silence. Quickly assessing the situation, he dives into the nearby lake to rescue the young woman who has slipped over the side of a speedboat, escaping what appeared to be an assailant. The situation quickly escalates, propelling Emily and Brady into the cross hairs of a determined killer; for it’s what Emily doesn’t know, that has the potential to endanger the lives of those around her.
What an exciting addition to the author’s Code of Valor series; she has written in wonderful characters who are allowed the time to have deep, meaningful conversations; and she has crafted a story line that is guaranteed to keep the most seasoned sleuths happily perplexed, sitting on the proverbial “edge of their seats”, until all the pieces of the puzzle glide into place.

I really enjoyed this book’s storyline. I really liked the Christian theme in this story. I really liked the action in this story. Some parts of this story was sad . I really liked Brady’s character. I really liked Emily’s character. I really liked the ending.
Like all her series, this one is impressive! I’ve read the first two and then months later, after our library finally opened back up, I’ve finished the series. Great characters, entertaining plot that leaves you needing to know how it ends and sets up questions about the next book!
non stop action with faith based love story
Code Of Valor by Lynette Eason is a fabulous Christian suspense and the third book in the Blue Justice series.
Once again Lynette Eason has produced a marvellous plotline that is both intriguing and well executed. The characters are realistic and easy to empathise with. The leading lady particularly resonated with me. She was a mixture of very strong and also insecure. She believed God loved others just as they were but she let her view of her weight define her. She did not see her self-worth. She needed to know “I am loved. I am God’s.”
The leading lady had compassion for others, even those who wished her harm. Her first thought was that no-one, no matter what they’d done, must die without Jesus.
We all face battles and have scars to prove it. Our scars and our past do not define us. We are who God says we are.
The novel shows the reader the true character of God. Some see Him as an angry God sitting in judgment but God is a God of love. “He’s [God] not sitting up there waiting to crack the whip if we mess up, but… He’s waiting for us to run into His arms and be comforted.” God is our perfect Father and will never let us down, in contrast to our earthly parents.
Power, the love of money and greed corrupt. They will never bring happiness. The book shows there is no honour among thieves.
The action is exciting and suspenseful. I read with heart racing and pulse rising. This Blue Justice series is fabulous and would translate marvellously into a Netflix series. All Lynette Eason’s books are superb.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
Emily working at the bank noticed something irregular with the deposits and withdrawal, then seeing someone from her past, caused her to further investigated. Pulling in a friend from childhood.to help her. She was told to get out by her mother when the father was killed. Emily’s remark was he was not a nice person. She learned to be street smart which helped her keep her calm. Bizarre events pull her into the cop family of the St John’s as they try to get to the bottom of why she is a target.
This one is my favorite of he series so far. The main characters are the best! Definitely in the re-read pile!
Perfect in every way. Great book!
