As a former member of the United States Secret Service, I’m no stranger to putting my life on the line in the name of duty. Having left the nation’s capital to re-settle in Pittsburgh, the skills I acquired during my tenure in Washington have made me a valued member of the team at Jameson Force Security. But when the President comes seeking a favor to protect his niece, I find myself on the fast … fast track back to the Oval Office.
Simply put… she’s beyond brilliant. A nationally renowned energy scientist, Barrett Alexander is on the verge of a breakthrough that will change the world. Unfortunately, that has also made her the target of a suspected terrorist cell. And while Barrett doesn’t believe she’s in any real danger, the President isn’t willing to take chances with her life.
As the threats against Barrett become more calculated, I decide taking her on the run is her best chance of survival. Danger, isolation, and attraction ensure we grow closer than I’d ever thought possible. When I realize I want to keep her safe for reasons that have nothing to do with my job and everything to do with the woman I’ve fallen in love with, no one is safe from the hell I’ll rain down on those that threaten her.

One thing I love about this authors books is her ability to have me wanting more and surprised with unexpected events. She pulls you in right from the start and keeps you going to the very last page. This is the second book in the Jameson Force Security and I found this book to not fully have the above. After finishing the first book in the series, and this one can be read/listened to without reading the first, I could not wait to read this one. I found myself slightly disappointed. While there was mystery and twists, there was too much that was predictable to me. There is one point in the story that the author could have changed the way the scene went down to have left more of a mystery. At times it felt as if the author was rushed in needing to get this book finished as it didn’t have what I’ve come to expect from this author. I still loved the overall storyline and the narrators did a great job in bringing the story to life that I am still giving it four stars. The narrators added to the story with how the listener could really visualize what was happening from the frustrations and laughter. I am still looking very much to the next book in the series and I do hope that this was just an off book for the author.
I missed the first story in this series, but will have to go back and read or listen to it. This book is a standalone, but I love this crew so much I want to know what happens in book 1. This was a fast paced story that kept me on the edge of my seat. The story telling was well done. Cruce was one hot agent who I’d want protecting me, too! Barrett was strong and sassy. My favorite type of heroine. This was a good story.
I really enjoyed this. Cruce was my dream man, and the narrator for him was amazing. Barrett was one of the best heroines I’ve read in awhile. I loved how seriously smart she was. I listened to the audio in just a little more than 2 days which is pretty quick for an audio book for me, so it was obviously great!
I really enjoyed this bodyguard/client storyline with a suspense element. I loved their banter and chemistry. I was hooked from beginning to end. Jason Clarke and Lucy Rivers rocked the narration. Can’t wait to read the next book in this series!
for the audio –
Code Name Sentinel was the perfect listen from the first rumbled words that tumbled from narrator Jason Clarke. I was hooked with all of the action and intrigue. I loved that the voice of Barrett narrated by Lucy Rivers was suave and sultry. It was nice to listen to a brainic that wasn’t a high pitched mess. Barrett was so put together. And Cruse was perfect for her, orderly and in control in his own way. And heck who wouldn’t want to be stashed away with their own protector. Up until facing the bad guys. Because minor spoiler alert, you know that’s going to happen. And when it did – boy did this listen have my heart racing. It was an excellent spin of romance among espionage and treason!
Bennett and her crew of undercover operatives took my emotions on a wild ride. Code Name: Sentimental thrills with dangerous manuevers, enticing attraction and heartstopping intrigue. Cruce is used to breaking the rules, but when living on the edge brings him face to face with his greatest temptation, all bets are off. Falling in love was never part of the plan, but romance rears it’s head, the fallout could have deadly consequences. Clarke and Rivers turn on the heat.
This is Book 2 in the “Jameson Force Security” Series and I loved it from the very beginning until the last page. The book has it all. Action, suspense, great characters and a very well developed plot.
Code Name Sentinel is about the newest member in Jameson Force Security: Cruce Britton. Cruce is an ex Secret Service Agent who is called to the White House by the President. Before becoming President, while he was Vice President, Cruce saved his life and now he asks Cruce and the team a very special mission: to protect her niece Barrett Alexander. Barrett is a renowned scientist and there is a threat on her life…
The chemistry between Barrett and Cruce is awesome and the book is fantastic. I recommend it!!!
***Audio Review***
I love a good suspense romance and Sawyer Bennett always feeds my need for them. She writes emotional, intense and suspenseful romance.
Jason Clarke’s voice is smooth like honey and I loved the way he brought Cruce to life. Even is other voices were good. Lucy Rivers was amazing as Barrett Alexander but I wasn’t thrilled with her men’s voices. But together Jason and Lucy gave me an amazing listen. They heightened my experience of this story.
Sawyer wrote an exceptional story that kept me on the edge as each chapter was read. She gave me a story with enough emotion, drama and sexiness to feed my romantic heart.
With each new book in the series only gets better than the last one. I can’t get enough of the Jameson Force members and look forward to the next in the series!
I read/listened to this book, the second in this series by Sawyer Bennett. I loved Cruce and Barrett’s chemistry together. They are great and you can’t help but root for them. The twists and turns in the story keep, you riveted and I didn’t want to put this book/audio down. I now have to go and read the first book in the series, I could keep up even though I haven’t read it bit know I am just curios. I highly recommend this read.
OMG, OMG…Jason Clarke and Lucy Rivers bring Sawyer Bennett’s Code Name: Sentinel to life with gut wrenching, nail biting, heart stopping terror, along with panty melting, falling in love emotional rollercoaster. This one had me on the edge of my seat, hoping it all would work out. LOVED IT!!
Code Name: Sentinel is filled with suspense and intrigue with a side of passion and love! This book slowly builds up the relationship between Cruce and Barrett but at the same time the danger and intrigue is constantly ramping up.
Someone is after Barrett for the world changing discovery she is on the brink of breaking through. Cruce’s job is to protect her but there is so much heat and passion flowing between them that she becomes so much more than just a job to him and he will do anything to keep her safe.
I loved this second book in the Jameson Force Security series and I know you will too! So, get ready to enjoy this fast paced romantic suspense story! You will not be disappointed!

Cruce has left the Secret Service and now works for the Jameson Force Security Group. But when the President of the United States calls and wants you, you go. So Cruce finds himself guarding the President’s niece, who turns out to be a nerd and is working on a top-secret formula.
Barrett has a one-track mind when it comes to her work. She can zone out for hours when she is working. So, when her uncle shows up with two men in tow and they are not his usual detail, she knows something is up.
While Barrett doesn’t think there is a threat and she just wants to get back to work, Cruce is hard at work trying to keep her safe. But when the threat hits close to her home, Cruce decides it’s time to move. An being on the run is just what they do, and isolation is the best thing. That way, she can work on her formula and Cruce can keep her safe.
What happens when they get a little too close? Will their feelings for each other get in the way of him protecting her? Will the threat against her become real?
I am loving this new series from author Sawyer Bennett and these alpha males are just as fantastic as those hockey men. This story is filled with all the feels it takes for me to enjoy a story and makes me love it even more. If you haven’t read this author yet, you should. Grab any of her books and you will fall in love, I promise, and I hope you enjoy it too.

M/F Action, Romance
This is the second book in this series and while you don’t necessarily have to read the previous book, I would recommend it.
Barrett is a smart woman who has lived her life in the pursuit of finding a way through energy crisis. As the niece of the President, when he hears that her work may cause her to become a target, he calls on his former secret service member, Cruce.
Cruce really enjoys his new job. He loves the work and the people he’s able to work with. When the President calls, he knows that it will be something important. What Cruce isn’t expecting is to care so much about a job.
Cruce and Barrett have a somewhat rocky start. Barrett doesn’t really like changing her routine, nor does she believe that there is a threat. Cruce just wants to make sure that he does a good job, in case the threat is real. When they find themselves secluded to help protect Barrett and her formula, they can no longer deny their attraction. Whether or not either of them will take that first step, we just have to wait and see.
Action and romance litter this story. It was well developed and not an insta-love book, which I really appreciated. I can’t wait to see who gets the next story! Pick these up – you won’t be disappointed.
Possible Triggers: Kidnapping, Torture, Murder

This is the second in this very exciting new series. I would certainly recommend that you start at the beginning and see how Kynan started the Jameson Force Security, and his care in recruiting the very best. Cruce Britten is most definitely a man that fulfils the criteria – he saved the current president’s life when a VP, and now he is about to stand up again and help protect POTUS’s niece.
Barrett (Barrie) is a woman with more boffin qualifications than pretty much anyone else, and she is about to work out the formula to provide free energy to the world. Funnily enough, there are some who would rather that not be publicly available… and a threat to her safety is not one the president can abide. Cue Jameson Force Security, and Cruce in particular, ensuring she remains safe.
Barrie is not used to being the centre of anyone’s attention, but most definitely not being shadowed by a very handsome and sexy man. Things do not go smoothly at first, but as any loyal reader of Bennett will know, the chemistry is far too strong to resist forever! And whilst here is no exception, I loved how their relationship stems from a growing friendship and heaps of respect. It is fun and light, even though the situation is tense and dangerous.
I will not, obviously, reveal anything more, but suffice it to say that this has a well fleshed out plot and some pretty tense moments, as well as a lovely romance.

Code Name: Sentinel is the second book in the Jameson Force Security series by the talented and fabulous Sawyer Bennett. I have read every book of Sawyer’s and she never disappoints with the sexiness, humor, foreplay, suspense and lust. We met Cruce in Code Name: Genesis and I’ve been thinking about him since! He’s new to the team, but he quickly made friends and works well with the team. He used to be Secret Service and when he gets a call from the president, he doesn’t think twice, he’ll do anything he asks. His niece is in danger and she needs protection. She’s a brilliant scientist and she’s working on a formula that will literally change the world. Cruce is just the man for the job, even if Barrett is sexy, nerdy and beautiful. He’d lay down his life for hers. When he takes her away, just the two of them, she becomes more than a job. She’s a woman who he starts to fall for. Barrett isn’t sure if it’s the circumstances or the man, but she can’t seem to stop looking at him. She loves that he makes her stop and enjoy life. But when the danger finds them, will they make it out alive? Will they realize their feelings are real and forever? I’m loving these Jameson Force guys! Cruce is fiercely loyal and takes his job seriously. If I were in trouble, I’d want him at my six. Or, you know, anywhere near me :). Overall, I loved Cruce and Barrett and thought their story was sexy and romantic! I loved the added suspense and seeing some favorites and meeting some new characters. I’m already looking forward to Code Name: Heist.
Code Name: Sentinel by Sawyer Bennett is the second standalone book in her Jameson Force Security series. A standalone book in a series of standalones where the stories each build off the other, you can read this without reading the first book, Code Name: Genesis, but why would you want to? Code Name: Sentinel jumped into the action with the threat looming over the President’s niece, a highly intelligent, genius-level energy scientist, her current project has made her a target and it is up to Cruce to keep her safe. Even when that means keeping her safe on a luxury private island where they are the only residents. Great world-building and plot – full of action and heat! You just cannot go wrong with a Sawyer Bennett book! Enjoy!
Code Name; Sentinel is WOW, just WOW!! I can’t say enough great things about this book. I’ve been a Sawyer Bennett since I read the first book in her Wicked Horse series. She really nailed it with Sentinel!
Cruce Britton, former Secret Service agent and brilliant scientist Barrett are white hot together in this fast paced, action filled romantic suspense. Cruce teaches Barrett how to do more than work and sleep. He shoves his feelings for Barrett down deep as he protects her. The only problem? She wants him as much as he wants her. Giving in is inevitable and when he does….whew!
Cruce is a member of the Jameson Force Security team. His latest assignment is to protect the President’s niece. Barrett is a brilliant scientist working on a project that can change the world. Her work is also wanted by a terrorists group. The story is full of action and suspense. It moves along fairly quickly.
Review copy was received for a honest opinion.
In this second installment of the Jameson Security Force series, Cruce Britton has been tasked with a very special assignment — protect the president’s niece Barrett who happens to be working on a formula to provide clean energy to the world. When intelligence chatter seems to indicate she is in danger, Cruce is called in since he is someone the president trusts.
Without much to go on, Cruce and Barrett end up in hiding on a tropical island. Yeah — you know what that means! It’s a great environment for Cruce and Barrett to hook up! And that’s exactly what they do. It’s really sweet since they are really both out of their element here. What starts off as just sex turns into something much more meaningful between them, and there is a definite joy in their discovery of each other and what they’ve been missing in their lives.
When Barrett makes a mistake in judgement, she puts herself at risk and things get very tense and action-oriented when Barrett ends up with the wrong folks and Cruce must save her. The rest of the Jameson Security Force is behind him and it’s really cute how they’ve all figured out that Cruce has fallen for Barrett and don’t let him forget it.
There’s a very nicely crafted ending to the story, as Cruce and Barrett both come to grips with what they want in life. Code Name:Sentinel was a very entertaining story with just the right amount of action and romance to satisfy this reader.
As the second book in the Jameson Force Security series readers are once again introduced to the engaging and colorful members of the group. Like the previous installment, this one kept me on edge from the first page to the last watching two very different people find a connection while running from heart-pounding danger.
Cruce Britton is the newest addition to the highly secretive Jameson Force Security team and from the very start I enjoyed his impressions of his co-workers and boss. It made him instantly endearing and easily likable as he balanced a bit of arrogance with easy humor as well as displaying a brotherly bond with the rest of the team. He has a strong bond from his previous work with the President too which has him responding to the man’s call immediately which puts him in close quarters with a woman very different from him. While she’s all about work, he takes time to smell the roses. He’s serious about his work too but hasn’t let it consume him like she has. Despite their differences he’ll protect her with his life. Their connection crackles from the very beginning and when danger gets closer they go into hiding. During this time is when they grow much closer and I enjoyed watching their romance evolve. Cruce is an immensely appealing hero, a bit snarky, self-assured, and extremely protective. His actions throughout this story were the epitome of heroic and I’d definitely want him to protect my body.
Barrett Alexander is a niece to the President and well-known for her scientific work as an energy scientist. Her latest project could change the world and it leaves her vulnerable to those looking to acquire her work for themselves. Keeping her safe soon becomes the job of Cruce once the President intervenes and as danger comes knocking on their door. Through heart-pounding action, and a burgeoning romance, this couple grew closer as their story raced to an exhilarating conclusion. Through it all Barrett’s very likable, a genius, and devoted to her work. She doesn’t take time to truly live though which is what Cruce is there for. From the outside they may seem different but watching them grow closer shows how good they are together.
This was a thoroughly entertaining read from the first page to the last. It was a tale full of exciting action and suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat. Alongside the exhilarating action was a sweet and sexy romance that captivated me as I rooted for this couple every step of the way. Alongside this likable main couple was an equally likable cast of secondary characters, a cast full of colorful characters with strong protective instincts. I enjoyed getting an update on Kynan and Joslyn and am waiting with bated breath for Saint, Dozer, Cage, and Malik. These are a sexy group of men and I look forward to them taking center stage. On a whole Ms. Bennett has crafted another winner that kept me glued to the pages in a tale that I highly recommend!
An action-packed new release from Sawyer Bennett! CODE NAME: SENTINEL is a romantic suspense standalone:
She’s an energy scientist on the verge of a breakthrough (and the president’s niece)
He’s new to the team at Jameson Force Security following a career in the Secret Service (and just happened to save the life of the then vice president)
Now he’s been hired to protect her against a suspected kidnapping plot
What could possibly go wrong? (Hint: EVERYTHING)
I am pretty sure that I sound like a broken record every time I write a review for Sawyer Bennet because I keep saying she gets better and better, but it is the damn truth! I could not put this book down!
Sentinel was about Cruce and Barrett and talk about opposites. A nerdy scientist and a security guy, but they were also so right for each other. I loved watching Cruce bring Barrett out of her shell. And in Sawyer Bennett fashion this story had me on the edge of my seat while throwing in the heat.
I loved seeing so many of the other Jameson crew and cannot wait for Saint’s book!! (5 stars)
