As a former member of the United States Secret Service, I’m no stranger to putting my life on the line in the name of duty. Having left the nation’s capital to re-settle in Pittsburgh, the skills I acquired during my tenure in Washington have made me a valued member of the team at Jameson Force Security. But when the President comes seeking a favor to protect his niece, I find myself on the fast … fast track back to the Oval Office.
Simply put… she’s beyond brilliant. A nationally renowned energy scientist, Barrett Alexander is on the verge of a breakthrough that will change the world. Unfortunately, that has also made her the target of a suspected terrorist cell. And while Barrett doesn’t believe she’s in any real danger, the President isn’t willing to take chances with her life.
As the threats against Barrett become more calculated, I decide taking her on the run is her best chance of survival. Danger, isolation, and attraction ensure we grow closer than I’d ever thought possible. When I realize I want to keep her safe for reasons that have nothing to do with my job and everything to do with the woman I’ve fallen in love with, no one is safe from the hell I’ll rain down on those that threaten her.

I am loving this new series from Sawyer Bennett. Action, romance and a team of military and security specialists that fight for what they believe in. Code Name Sentinel follows ex Secret Service Agent and the Nation’s hero Cruce Britton, a new recruit to Jameson Force Security. Cruce and his team are asked as a personal favour to the President, to protect his niece, Barrett Alexander. Barrett is a renowned Scientist on the brink of changing the world with her theories about free energy. Oblivious to anything except her work, Barrett is loathe to change her routine and be constantly shadowed by security, but for her Uncle she relinquishes. When the threat to her safety becomes very real things start heating up, in more ways than one. Suspense, action, and let’s not forget the sexy time, in this romantic thriller that had me on the edge of my seat. Sawyer Bennett can spice up any story, and she does this to perfection with Cruce and Barrett, two strong characters that perfectly compliment each other. Another winner for me. I loved it. I received an advanced copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review.

Well I have to be honest and say that this Jameson Security Series is truly becoming one of my all time favorite series by Sawyer Bennett.
These books are filled with mystery and suspense but also a great love story. Each of these stories so far have kept me on my feet and I can’t turn the pages fast enough. This series is there perfect mix of angst, swoon, sex and suspense. She even adds the forbidden element to the characters story.
Code Name : Sentinel is the second book in this series. Each of these books are told in Dual POV and can be read as a complete standalone. You will see recurring characters in each of the books, so my recommendation would be to read them in order, but they don’t have to be. I thought the flow and pace of the story was well written. Some readers may label this book as an insta-love connection, but I didn’t find it too rushed at all. It was just the natural progression of their connection.
I do want to warn some readers though, that there is a section of this story that could be difficult for some people to read. I don’t want to give too much away, just know that Barrett is put into a situation that may make readers have trouble reading it. I was a little surprised at how in depth and graphic Sawyer made that scene. That’s not normally what I have come to expect from one of her books. Although I struggled to read that part, it didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the overall story.
In this book we follow Barrett and Cruce’s story. Barrett is the niece of the President of the United and is working on a top secret formula, which has put her life in danger. Cruce works for Kynan at Jameson Security and was also detailed to the POTUS when he was the Vice President. So when his niece is threatened Cruce is the only person he trusts to watch and protect his niece. Without giving to much away, what happens after this is a story of forbidden love between two people who are complete opposites. Can Cruce open Barrett’s world to love and fun?? What happens when the danger comes a little too close?? Can Cruce and Barrett find their HEA?? Read this exciting and thrilling story to find out.
I enjoyed getting to see Joslyn and Kynan more in this story, but I also really liked getting to know some of the other characters who make up this Jameson security team. I look forward to the other books in this series!!!
So if you are a fan of a romantic suspense story, you should definitely pick up this series!! I love seeing this side of Sawyer Bennett’s writing. Truly entertaining!!!!
Barrett and Cruce’s story is like that of an action movie. There is never a dull moment as you read to see what happens next and who’s behind it all. You have hot Alpha, Cruce, and sexy nerdy scientist Barrett whose chemistry will explode within the pages. This book is part of a series, but you can for sure read this as a stand-alone if you wanted. Dual point of view. No cliffhanger. There is a touch of violence in this book if this is a trigger for you.
WOW!!! What a blockbuster of a book!! I felt like i was watching an action packed movie!! Had me on the edge of my seat!! Sensual!! Fantastic story that deserves a golden globe award!!
Once again BLOWN AWAY. Seriously, this series is amazing. Now, I love all of Sawyer’s books, but I think this series is just special, it has that bit of suspense, who done it, serious sexiness, and totally hot alpha guys. What more could a girl ask for? Got totally sucked in and could not stop until I was finished at 12:30 am. Sawyer does that to me every time. I love how she took an engrossed scientist and made her see the light! Of course there are some, oh no what are you thinking doing that scenes, but they are quickly remediated!!
Cannot wait to see what book 3 has in store for us!!!
An intensely thrilling, exhilarating and highly steamy journey to go on with Cruce and Barrett. I enjoyed every single second of this exciting story.
Loved. It.
Another thrilling and romantic book I just couldn’t put down. This time we get Barrett and Cruce (we met him before). She is a nerdy, extremely brilliant scientist, but she is so much more than that.
I loved that she was was an introvert, smart and a little geek, but she also went after she wanted (aka, Cruce). She wasn’t just some dorky girl with no social skills whatsoever.
She was pragmatic, driven and seductive (of course, not in a in-your-face kind of way. I mean, she was still nerdy).
Cruce was a man of honor and gravitance. He was focused, loyal and willing to do whatever it took to protect his country and do his job.
But just like Barrett, he was also more than that. Even with all his credences and after saving one of the most powerful man on Earth (the USA president himself), he was also funny, easy going and adorable.
They made quite a pair and their chemistry was only waiting for a little shove to consume them all. What started as job for Cruce and an incovenience for Barrett soon became the wake up call they both needed: there is more in life than work.
They were so amazing together. Either during the steamy scenes, or when they were just hanging out and knowing each other better or even fighting for their lives, they connected adorably.
Again: loved it.
This book is edgy, but still a great romance read with all the feels. I really enjoyed it!
First of all any series that takes place in my home town, I’m in. Geographical accuracy, check. Suspense, check. Romance, check. HEA, OF COURSE! This series has it all and I can’t wait for the next book.
I’m genuinely enjoying this series so far! Code Name: Sentinel is the second book in the Jameson Force Security Series and gives us Cruce’s story.
Cruce is a retired secret service agent who once saved the President. He now works for Jameson Force Security, so he’s the first person the President calls upon when his niece Barrett is in danger.
Cruce is so yummy! He’s a great guy and he’s good at his job. He does his best to stay all business with Barrett, however the attraction between them is smokin, and they both struggle to fight their feelings. Barrett is a great character. For years she’s basically done nothing but throw herself into her job and work long hours. Even though she’s in danger, Cruce is able to make her realize it’s important to take a break sometimes and enjoy life. I loved how Barrett was the one who initially pushes for more with Cruce.
There’s some suspense and action, and there are a few scenes with some of the other members of JFS. Saint’s book is next and I can’t wait to see what happens.
Absolutely loved this book and the storyline.
Loved the connection between Cruce and Barrett.
So glad they got their HEA especially after all that they went through to get there.
So relieved that Cruce managed to rescue Barrett before anything worse happened to her.
This Jameson Force series is a force to be reckoned with.
Cruce and Barrett’s story was so good, it had a lot of different things I love in it, like action, suspense, steamy moments, and an alpha male. Cruce is an ex secret service member who saved the vice presidents life, so the now President feels indebted to him but calls him in for one more favor. The president’s niece is an intelligent woman, who works hard and had no social life. Barrett is a genius has been since she was little, but she loves what she does, so she doesn’t see that the hard work and long hours as a burden, she sees it as her doing her job with love. I respected her hard work but when her life is threatened Cruce is sent to protect her. These two have instant chemistry and Cruce took such great care of Barrett by making her take breaks or relax. They spend some time fighting their attraction because Barrett’s safety comes first. This book had a lot of action and perfect steamy moments and I can’t wait to read more.
Cruce Britton is contacted to protect a woman in danger, little did he expect this would be the job that would change his life. Bennett Alexander is a scientist, workaholic and the President’s niece. After an attempted kidnapping, Cruce and Bennett go off the grid to a private island in the Caribbean. Once they start spending time together on the island, their attraction to each other becomes just as hot as the island. Cruce’s morals say he needs to keep things professional but when Bennett is kidnapped can he save her and bring her home safely?
Sawyer Bennett has done it again with another story that provides suspense, passion and page-turning action. Code Name: Sentinel is the second book in the Jameson Force Security series which can be read as a standalone or as part of the Jameson Force Security series. The story is told in dual POV of the hero and heroine. Code Name: Sentinel is an action-packed romantic suspense that has you not wanting to put the book down once you start reading it. I can not wait for the next Jameson Force Security book. I recommend this book to everyone who loves a romantic, non-stop action book.
loved the story. Characters are soooo realistic. must go read more of this series – It’s that good!
Outstanding! This book kept a hold of me tight and didn’t let go. I loved every single minute of it. Action packed and very steamy. Highly recommend!
After reading the first book in this series, Code Name: Genesis, I said it didn’t get as deep into the connections between characters. This story wasn’t much longer but I felt it took a bit of a deeper dive into the relationship than the first book. Barrett and Cruce have wonderful chemistry from the start.
The love story part of this book unfolds in a rather sweet way. Barrett is not naïve or innocent, but she doesn’t have a lot of experience. She is totally involved in her work and doesn’t take time to do anything else. Her dedication to her job is actually unhealthy, so when Cruce is put in charge of her protection he takes that to mean her overall health and helps her to learn to take small breaks. It’s during those breaks that the two get to know each other a little at a time and realize their chemistry is not just physical, there’s a real attraction going on between them.
There are some real cringe-worthy parts of this book. I don’t mean that as the story writing or storyline are bad, I mean the subject matter and things that happen really became intense. It was somewhat unexpected due to the way the first half of this book plays out, but they scenes make sense to the overall story. Just be warned that you may end up skimming a few pages if you are on the more sensitive side.
Sawyer Bennett’s hockey gods are still my favorites, but her alpha security guys are really growing on me.

I really loved the characters in this book. Cruce and Barrett were both well written and rounded believable characters. There was a good mix of love, tension and suspense. My only disappointment was that the city of Pittsburgh was just really mentioned not really prominently in the book. Can’t wait for more.
Sawyer Bennett has done it again with her second book in her Jameson Force Security series. Code Name: Sentinel is a fantastic read. From the very start I was drawn in. I had to know what would happen next to Barrett and Cruce.
Sawyer portrayed the perfect blend of suspense and combustible chemistry that I couldn’t help but fall in love with Barrett and Cruce. They were the perfect pair, both being work-a-holics and complete opposites. Where Barrett, a nerdy lab rat would prefer to keep her nose stuck in her research, Cruce on the other hand was a former Secret Service Agent. He’s been hired to protect Bennett, at all costs from by the President of the United States.
There’s nothing he won’t do to protect her, even if it’s from herself. As they’re thrown together unexpectly, their chemistry cracks and sizzles. Throw in sum heated suspense by outside forces, and you have the perfect blend for an amazing story
I cannot wait to see what Sawyer has in store for us next. I really love this series and would love go get my hands on the next book ASAP.
PS – Jason Clarke and Lucy Rivers do a great job of bringing Sawyer’s world to life. I enjoyed this audio experience.
Jason Clarke and Lucy Rivers did such a fantastic narrating this story. I could have listened to them read forever and their voices with the emotion in it really put me right there in the middle of the story. The story starts with Cruce as Barrett’s protection and the intensity and angst builds from there. This book had some fun and harrowing twists and turns that had my attention (and had me sitting in my car listening extra) just to know what was going to happen.
I think the author did a great job weaving this tale that completely captures a readers attention
Cruce Britton epitomizes the qualities of a sentinel, which makes his new assignment – to protect the President’s niece – something that should come easy to him…it’s clear that he’s damn good at putting himself on the line for those who need his protection, but his latest assignment, not only puts his skills to the test, but his will power and his professionalism as well, because while Cruce has always been focused on his career and making as little attachments as necessary, there’s just something about Barrett Alexander, and the fact that he’s protecting her as a personal favor to the President of the United States makes things messy, complicated, and potentially the biggest job and risk of his life.
I enjoyed the fact that Sawyer Bennett created a unique situation to bring Cruce and Barrett together. The reason for the threat against Barrett definitely fits contemporary society because her research as a renowned energy scientist is life altering for the world, so it makes sense that someone would want to steal her work and use it for their own benefit.
Cruce’s refusal to be distracted by feelings for the person he’s protecting logically makes sense, but there’s nothing logical about feelings – they’re messy, they’re overwhelming, and they amp up any situation, and this is exactly what happens the more time he spends with Barrett and the deeper his feelings for the woman he vowed to protect.
Jason Clarke and Lucy Rivers narrate Cruce and Barrett’s, allowing their perspectives to hold all of the characters’ emotions, exuding the push and pull between them as well as the ups and downs that occur as Cruce works to keep Barrett safe while their feelings for each other make everything a bit more difficult. I absolutely loved how Clarke brought Cruce’s character to life; it was sexy, sultry, and seductive, and just how I pictured Cruce’s voice.
I love a good bodyguard romance – they seem to have a perfect blend of suspense, steam, and drama, and Sawyer Bennett’s Code Name: Sentinel definitely fit the bill.
