As a former member of the United States Secret Service, I’m no stranger to putting my life on the line in the name of duty. Having left the nation’s capital to re-settle in Pittsburgh, the skills I acquired during my tenure in Washington have made me a valued member of the team at Jameson Force Security. But when the President comes seeking a favor to protect his niece, I find myself on the fast … fast track back to the Oval Office.
Simply put… she’s beyond brilliant. A nationally renowned energy scientist, Barrett Alexander is on the verge of a breakthrough that will change the world. Unfortunately, that has also made her the target of a suspected terrorist cell. And while Barrett doesn’t believe she’s in any real danger, the President isn’t willing to take chances with her life.
As the threats against Barrett become more calculated, I decide taking her on the run is her best chance of survival. Danger, isolation, and attraction ensure we grow closer than I’d ever thought possible. When I realize I want to keep her safe for reasons that have nothing to do with my job and everything to do with the woman I’ve fallen in love with, no one is safe from the hell I’ll rain down on those that threaten her.

“It’s easy to forget that I’m her protector and she’s a job for which I’ll be well compensated.”
Oh my…this series just keeps getting better and better. As Jameson Force Security increases their number by hiring additional staff the possibilities are endless and exciting. I’m kind of a tech nerd myself so I really enjoy the hacking side of things as they work on their cases. I also enjoy the team/family atmosphere that’s starting to build as they get used to working together and women are added to the mix.
These sexy security guys are the stuff that causes panties to disintegrate, especially when they use their bossy alpha growls to get their point across. I know that poor nerdy Barrett had no clue what she was in for when she was assigned 24/7 protection by a former United Secret Service member who was, “—tall, strong, and has a face of an angel.” Usually, her research has her so focused that she loses herself for hours without being aware of what’s going on around her. But, this gorgeous guy doesn’t allow her to ignore him. He makes sure that she stops to eat, drink and stretch occasionally. He even goes with her when she runs. Where do I sign up for this? The man, not the running. The line forms here…
So steamy and action packed – loved this book!
5 star Review Code Name Sentinel (Jameson Force Security #2) by Sawyer Bennett
The second book in the latest series from Sawyer Bennett is Cruce Britton and Barrett Alexander’s story.
This book was well written, exciting to read, emotional and at times intense as Cruce and Barrett struggle with the danger that Barrett suddenly finds herself in.
Barrett is the niece of the US President and thanks to a breakthrough that will rock the entire world, the energy scientist’s life is now in danger. The one man the President knows he can depend on to keep her safe is Cruce, his former secret service agent, who is the latest recruit to the Jameson Security team.
Will Cruce be able to keep Barrett safe, or will the increasing threats and danger put her life in further jeopardy?
Complications arise when feelings become involved, as the chemistry and attraction quickly escalates between them.
What will happen to their blossoming romance once the danger is neutralised?
I really loved these characters and was captivated as Sawyer Bennett wove her story; in fact I was glued to the book from start to finish and I didn’t want it to end. The romance and suspense are well balanced and this was an exciting and intriguing read.
Cruce has left the Secret Service and now works for the Jameson Group. But when the President of the United States calls and wants you, you go. So Cruce finds himself guarding the president’s niece who turns out to be a nerd and is working on a top-secret formula.
Barrett has a one-track mind when it comes to her work. She can zone out for hours when she is working. So when her uncle shows up with two men in tow and they are not his usual detail. She knows something is up.
While Barrett doesn’t think there is a threat and she just wants to get back to work, Cruce is hard at work trying to keep her safe. But when the treat hits close to her home, Cruce decides it’s time to move. An being on the run is just what they do, and isolation is the best thing. That way she can work on her formula and Cruce can keep her safe.
What happens when they get a little too close? Will their feelings for each other get in the way of him protecting her? Will the threat against her become real?
I am loving this new series from author Sawyer Bennett and these alpha males are just as fantastic as those hockey men. This story is filled with all the feels it takes for me to enjoy a story and makes me love it even more. If you haven’t read this author yet, you should. Grab any of her books and you will fall in love, I promise and I hope you enjoy it too.

WHAT WiLL HAPPEN TO BARRETT & CRUCE?
WiLL THERE BE A HAPPiLY EVER AFTER?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!
Great second book!
Just like the first one it’s so very exciting and suspensy and mysterious and dangerous and sexy and fun. I loved Cruce and Barrett. And all the other guys and girls too. This could be such a great TV Show!!!!
I love books where our heroes know the president and they help save the world or in this case the niece. Adorable!
I didn’t much like that the super genius did such a stupid thing that one time – but pfft – somehow the bad guys had to find them 😉
It was still a really good story – nothing much more to say.
Great romantic suspense! Can’t wait to read the next book in this series!

4 1/2 STARS!
CODE NAME: SENTINEL is book two in Sawyer Bennett’s Jamison Force Security series and portrays a scientist and a former secret service/turned security expert in a falling for the bodyguard romance. The book snagged this reader’s attention quickly and kept me intrigued throughout.
Cruce moved on from his job as a secret service agent to come on board with Jamison Force Security, but he no more than starts getting the lay of the land when the President calls him up asking for a favor.
Barrett is interested in nothing more than pushing through this scientific breakthrough she almost has a handle on, but it doesn’t take long for circumstances to come between her and her lab when her uncle, the President, shows up with a guy he insists has to be her bodyguard.
I recommend this book to anyone looking for a fast paced bit of intrigue that comes to life quickly and keeps you guessing until the end with a hot romance thrown in the mix along the way. So far I’m really enjoying this series and am looking forward to more to come!
One of the things I love about this author is how different every series she writes feels. The Jameson Force Security series is a perfect blend of suspense and thrills with just enough steam so that you don’t forget your reading a Sawyer Bennett book. It’s sexy and smart, and keeps you on the edge of your seat with a sizzling romance of opposites that somehow just, work.
This is the second book in the series and I’m a little more anxious to read book three than I was book two. They just keep getting better!!

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.
I haven’t had a chance to read the first book in this series yet, but as with allotter Sawyer books that I’ve read, that didn’t cause me an issue, as each book in this series is able to be read as a standalone.
Our main characters Cruce and Barrett are both really easy to like, and I was easily able to slip into their story and become involved. My fave was Cruce though, he’s one hell of a man. Alpha tough, sweet on the inside, and a very honourable man. I loved him so much, and would love one of my own haha.
There were lots of great secondary characters to help build their world, and I really look forward to getting know more of them in future books of this series.
There was a couple of things in the book, mainly one big thing that Barrett did which was just plain silly and I wanted to smack her for it. It was integral to the story and something that needed to happen so we could get to the crux of the mystery and main issue behind everything however.
Once again another enjoyable and easy read from Sawyer Bennett, and I can’t wait for more.
4.5 stars
Cruce Britton is already considered a hero and has friends in high places from his actions as a Secret Service agent. But now he is working with Jameson Security Force. But those important connections are now reaching out to them for help in a personal matter.
The President’s niece is a brilliant scientist and may be a target. So Cruce is personally asked to be her bodyguard. She is a naive, reserved, independent-minded workaholic and is not thrilled about this distraction.
He is intense, loyal, protective, and really nice to look at. And as they spend more time together and have to get farther off the grid, she is not minding the distractions nearly as much. They have tempting chemistry and witty banter. Despite the fact she should be off-limits, he finds himself teaching her that maybe there is more to life than work. They are two very different types of people, but they balance each other well.
But they are in danger and her project has to be kept out of enemy hands. So Cruce and his team need to focus and cover all their bases. But sometimes you cannot plan for every scenario especially when you do not even know who your enemies are. Due to the circumstances, everything seems more intense.
Will they lose each other just as they have found more to live for than just work?
This is a sweet, passionate, action-packed, romantic suspense story told in dual points of view. I really adored both Cruce and Barrett. I am becoming more attached to this new group of operatives and how they support each other. I am looking forward to all the upcoming stories.
Arc provided in exchange for an honest review.
Cruce and Barrett were dynamite!
I love the bodyguard romance trope and this one was fantastic! Barrett was super smart – she was a scientist after all – but she was also likable and down-to-earth even with her family being who they were. Danger was stalking her but luckily those connections, and Cruce, were up to the challenge. He was a newcomer to the Jameson group but he knew just what to do when the President called…
Oh yes, this story had it all. Spine-tingling intrigue and suspense as well as heart-tickling chemistry between Cruce and Barrett. Cruce was strong and protective (which always works with me) and matched up with Barrett’s brainy, nerdy character perfectly. If romance flourishing as bullets fly seems far-fetched then you have to read this story to prove that it can happen. Their story had a non-stop pace but nothing was rushed or forced as the plot deepened along with the romance…
The banter between Cruce and Barrett was perfect as they tried to stay focused on the important things (staying alive of course) but failing happily. Characters, and a story to get lost in made this a great antidote for a horrible book funk…
This was a great read and I enjoyed it even more than the first in the series (and I loved that story). Can’t wait for more!

Cruce Britton used to put his life on the line as a member of the Secret Service. Now, he puts his life on the line in a different capacity, as a member of Jameson Force Security. He was one of the first hires for Kynan in the Pittsburgh office and he is one of the best at what he does. When Cruce’s old boss, who is now the President of the United States, calls asking for a favor, Cruce can’t and won’t say no.
Enter Barrett Alexander. She is a brilliant scientist, and she is working on something that would change the entire world. However, some people don’t like what she is working towards and her life is now at stake. When the danger hits close to home, Cruce and Barrett go on the run, and as the two spend more time together, it’s hard to deny the attraction. As more time passes the big question remains, can Cruce keep Barrett safe?
From start to finish I couldn’t put this book down, I read it in one sitting because I couldn’t stop turning the pages. The Jameson Force Security books are out of this world. They are action packed, and full of suspense as well as romance. Sawyer Bennett is one of my all-time favorite authors, and I love the different worlds she creates in each of her stories, but also how those worlds overlap. She writes in such a descriptive way that the reader can feel the emotions, or feel like they are watching the scenes happen right before their own eyes. ‘Code Name: Sentinel’ is a great addition to this series, and the fact that we are getting at least 3 more books in this series has my giddy!! As always, Sawyer, keep up the good work!
What happens when you’ve been asked to come out of retirement and protect the President of the United States niece? It doesn’t help the matter when you’re also attracted to and have chemistry with the person you’re supposed to be protecting. This book was so good!
I couldn’t wait for Cruce’s story in Bennett’s new thrilling and sexy series, and it was everything I wanted and more! Cruce left the secret service after killing a fellow agent to protect the now President. Cruce is the only man the President trusts unequivocally, so when his niece, Barrett, is threatened, he calls Cruce and Jameson Force Security to protect her and find those behind the threat. Barrett is an intelligent, work-obsessed, scientist who is developing a coveted energy formula. Cruce will protect her with his life while she finishes the formula and passes it off. While undercover, Cruce and Barrett learn to appreciate and live life and maybe even fall in love. But when someone discovers their location, it is a race against time to save Barrett from certain death. Cruce and Barrett were so perfect together, helping each other learn to live and love. I loved this thrilling, provocative, and sexy story, and the twists and turns it took had me on the edge and totally engaged. I also loved getting to know the team more, they are such a great mix of talent, and all very intriguing. I can’t wait for more about each of them and the thrilling and sexy adventure this Jameson Force Security team takes us on next!
***Edited to add Audio thoughts***
Jason Clarke, and Lucy Rivers were amazing as they brought this thrilling, provocative, and sexy story to life. They made the twists and turns even more exciting, taking my breathe away. I loved how Rivers portrayed the quirky scientist, taking her from an obstinate workaholic, to a strong, passionate woman who loves life. Clarke easily portrayed a rugged, alpha hero who loved to indulge Barrett’s little quirks and nerdiness, as he helped her open her eyes to all the fun, wonder, and possibilities life holds. I loved them together, their voices compliment each other and their chemistry is palpable. They made this already exhilarating story even better!
I could not put this book down once I started! This is such a fantastic series by Sawyer Bennett and I don’t know how she does it, but each book is as amazing as the last!! I think it had everything to do with the incredible complex characters she has created with edge of your seat storylines.
Cruce is one of those characters and is the perfect hero. Protection is in his nature. This is such an amazing romantic and suspenseful story with all the fixings I want in a romantic suspense! Cruce is former Secret Service and is now working at Jameson Force Security and so far enjoying his new life and career. He is asked personally to protect the President’s niece, by the President himself, since he saved his life when he was on his detail as the VP.
Barrett Alexander is unlike any woman Cruce has ever met. She works all the time and is totally devoted to her research but pretty much has no life beyond that. Oh but there is definitely chemistry between them. When Barrett and Cruce have to go into hiding off the grid, Cruce shows her everything she’s been missing. And I do mean everything. Love this story and these two together are perfect! Can’t wait for more of the team at Jameson Force!
This second book in the Jameson Force Security is Cruse and Barrett’s story.
A great read with strong capable characters. Barrett is a very intelligent work alcoholic while Cruse is a fierce protector, both feel an instant attraction to each other but resist at first.
Code Name: Sentinel is a slow burn sexy romance, with plenty of intrigue, action- packed suspense which makes it highly addictive.
Cruce Britton has left his job with the Secret Service and now works for Jameson Force Security but when the President Of the United States calls, you don’t hesitate to answer and it can change the course of your life.
Barrett Alexander is a brilliant scientist on the cusp of an Amazing breakthrough when it comes to energy but someone wants to put a stop to it and might actually lead to a dangerous situation that is until Cruce Britton comes into her life and goes full on protection mode.
Barrett doesn’t like the interruption in her life but Cruce doesn’t seem to care, there might be some head butting but when she realizes that it’s in her best interest not only to herself but to her Uncle who happens to be the President she gives in and accepts the help, what she doesn’t realize is how much she truly is missing from her life and she has Cruce to thank for it.
You will watch the two of them go through some treacherous times but watching them realize that they are not good without the other is absolutely a joy to watch.
This is book two in this fantastic series and if you missed book one read it now, catch up and get ready for the next one because it will be just as exciting as Cruce & Barrett’s story I’m sure.
**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**
I’m always a fan of Sawyer Bennett’s books, but I have to say that the Jameson Force Security series is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Not only do we have an absolutely swoonworthy hero, a smart (and tough) as nails heroine, we had plenty of action and intrigue!
Cruce Britton is a former Secret Service agent who hit the pinnacle of his Secret Service career when he saved the life of the now President of the United States, Jon Alexander. Needing a new adventure, Cruce decided that he would move on to Jameson Force Security to see what lie ahead for him. When he gets an email from the private account of the President asking for him and Kynan, his boss, to come to Washington, he knows that something major must be up.
Barrett Alexander is the niece of the President and also a brilliant scientist. Her life pretty much revolves around her work and she’s currently working on a formula that could change things for a lot of people. She’s always been close to her Uncle Jon and her Aunt since she lost her parents at a very young age and truth be told, she’s more like a daughter to him than a niece.
When President Alexander reveals to Cruce and Kynan that a threat has surfaced against his niece, he not only asks for the help of Jameson Force to figure out who is behind the threats, but he wants Cruce to be Barrett’s personal security guard anytime she is not in her very secure work building. Of course Cruce and Kynan agree and what happens from there keeps you on the edge of your seat for the remainder of the book. While trying to stay alive, Barrett and Cruce are also trying to deal with the very real and very strong feelings developing between them. Will they be able to overcome all they will face throughout the ordeal or will the relationship end before it begins?
I not only loved the story, the intrigue and the action, but I truly loved Barrett and Cruce. They were such a great balance for one another. Barrett was so serious, focused and driven and while Cruce is also focused and driven, he has learned that enjoying life is as important as anything else. They were amazing together and I just liked how organically everything happened between them in the book.
While these books can stand alone, if you haven’t picked up the first book in this series, you really should and then obviously pick this one up next!
