Being a highly skilled operative for a company like Jameson Force Security is exhilarating and important work…until it comes time to date. I like to keep my profession under wraps for a number of reasons. Some of what we do is top secret, most of what we do is dangerous, and more than one woman has tried to latch onto me because she was more enamored with what I do than who Cage Murdock really … is. And since I’m more of a ‘here for the night’ than a ‘here for forever’ kind of guy, what’s the harm in a little white lie about my job?My harmless deceit has never failed me. Until now. Because I met the most amazing woman and did the unthinkable. I married her. And now my beautiful, unsuspecting, probably-going-to-leave-my-sorry-behind-when-she-finds-out-the-truth wife doesn’t know that I’m not a used car salesman like I told her when we met.As it typically does with lies, the truth is about to come out in a big way when Jaime unwittingly gets herself mixed up with some unsavory characters and I, along with the team at Jameson, have to intervene. Now I need to save my girl and hope I can save my marriage too. Let’s just say I have some serious explaining to do.

This was a fantastic story!! Cage and Jaime were an awesome couple! I loved how they got together and how their story unfolded.
I really loved Jaime’s reaction to what happened to her! I thought it was quite refreshing to not see a damsel in distress. Honestly, I pictured Scar from The Lion King, when he said “I’m surrounded by idiots”.
This was absolutely fantastic and I cant wait for Jackson’s book!!
Keep on giving me more of the Jameson Force Security guys. I’ve been wanting to read about how Cage was gonna get himself out of the crazy lie he told the girl of his dreams. Now when he met her, he didn’t know she was the “one”. He just couldn’t figure out how to tell her. Jamie was such a pleasure to read, sweet, caring and loving to her family.
Of course you know something is gonna happen and the truth will come out. So when Jamie needs help and Cage has to help out, poor Jamie feels betrayed. I love the way our author makes Jamie gravel before he got his HEA.
What can I say but this series gets better with each new book. Code Name Rook has us getting to know more about Cage Murdock.
Cage works for Jameson Force Security but when it comes to meeting woman it’s not something he admits to. Cage keeps his work close to the vest but when he meets someone he’s more than interested in he still is hesitant to tell her.
Jamie Dolan is Social Worker out with friends when Cage catches her eye. The attraction is pretty instant and the chemistry is off the charts but when one night turns into more she has high hopes this can be a great thing, Little does she know Cage might not be the man she thought he was.
Cage & Jamie are fantastic together and he knows that he has met his match but now telling her everything about him is going to get a lot harder. There will be a lot of obstacles in the way and a lot of bumps in the road but if he can convince her that he is worth a shot that they could have a forever and they might just find that HEA that they deserve.
*3 Stars*
ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.
I’ve really been enjoying this series, but it was hard for me to get into this one. It took me a long time to start feeling this book, because it’s a very slow start to the story. I remember from the previous book what had happened with Cage, and so going back to the start (even if it is getting the complete story this time) felt like it was dragging a bit and I just wanted to get to where things had been dropped off previously.
In saying that though, the characters were likeable and our old faves from previous books are around too. I did like Cage even if his reasons were a little bit skew-if at times. Jamie was a cool character too, so she was also easily likeable.
Enjoyed the second half of this one, just not a fave in this series.
I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I am a HUGE fan of Sawyer Bennett’s Hockey series. But I never really liked her sex club books and when I heard she was doing a bodyguard series I decided not to read it because I am not into the whole bodyguard is sexy romance stories. But when I read a description of this book I absolutely fell in love with the storyline and had to read it.
It was absolutely wonderful and I am so glad I got a chance to check it out. Being as I have never read the series and this is book 6, it easily stands alone. I seriously never wondered about anything and absolutely fell in love with all the couples included in this series and I might read more in this series as well. I really enjoyed it so much.
In this story we meet Cage and Jaime. They both meet in a bar and feel a real connection but Cage is a playboy and so he tells her a fake story about his real life job and as he falls for her he just lies more.
As time goes by they date and fall in love and she meets his friends and the lies get even more complicated. Cage is not a bad guy and I believe that Jamie would have forgiven him but on the night he is about to tell the truth, life stops him and I absolutely LOVED and adored this plot twist.
I loved that Jaime does not just accept his apology and forgive but she makes him really work for it. This was an absolutely awesome story. One that I felt was highly unusual and one that I loved so much I will definitely re-read.
I loved Rook!!!! I seem to say this on every Sawyer Bennett review I give, how does she keep blowing me away time and time again. This time we get Rook’s story and what a story it is.
Cage is the playboy of Jameson Security – needing to step away from the “job” after a mission he hits a bar and meets Jamie a girl he finally wants to spend time with, the problem of course is helped to her about his job.
Jamie sees Cage from across the bar and knows he is just the she needs for the night. When things start to move forward she knows he is the one. Now Cage has to tell her the truth but doesn’t know how, and things just escalate from there.
Again agreat addition to Sawyer Bennetts great series, one you should not pass up.
Another great addition to the Jameson Force Security series. This one has been my favorite to date! I just can’t get enough of these sexy, hot ex-military members of the Jameson Force Security. I have been waiting to get to know Cage Murdock “Rook” and it was well worth the wait.
Rook and Jaime were awesome characters. They had a fantastic first meeting which set the tone for the entire book. I loved their connection as these two mesh on all levels, mind, intellectually, mentally and sexually Which totally takes Rook by surprise since he has never been a one woman man. But after lying to her about his occupation when he met her, he never seems to be able to find the right time to tell her the truth until it is too late. Will Jaime be able to forgive him? Will these two get their HEA? You will need to read to get all the sexy details!
Received a copy and wrote a honest review.
Oh yes! I love this series!!! What happens when what is supposed to be a one night stand turns out to be so much more and you have lied to her from the beginning about who you are? You are either stuck lying for longer or you have to eventually come clean. Cade and Jaime meet after Cade returns from a mission and he is not looking for more than a good time so he makes up a boring back story for himself, telling her he is a used car salesman. However, one night is not enough and two nights is not enough and soon they have something more and he knows he has to tell her the truth but on a whirlwind trip in Vegas they get married and as he is preparing to tell her the truth he is called on a mission. So much for that. Is it too late to tell her the truth? When he returns and is sitting down to tell her, she is kidnapped due to her brother’s nefarious dealings. When the truth comes out about Cade it is in spectacular form but is it too late. Cade has a lot of begging and groveling to do and watching him come to grips with this strong and independent woman is something. Definitely a keeper. This one can be read as a standalone but why would you want to.
Code Name: Rook is the 6th book in Jameson Force Security series and while it could be read as a standalone I would at lease read the previous book (Code Name: Ghost) because the timelines coincide with each other. Cage Murdock is a former SEAL who now works for Jameson Force. When he meets women, he usually tells them he does something boring because they are more in love with the job than in getting to know him as a person. And since he is always just looking for one night, it’s easier to just lie about what he does. It has never hurt anything until he meet’s Jamie. He finds himself enamored with her and wants to spend more and more time with her, but he started everything off with a lie and doesn’t know how to get out of it now. Especially when he takes her to Vegas with him and marries her. Jamie doesn’t know that the man she has fallen for isn’t a used car salesman. And when she is pulled into something unsavory, she believes her husband has been hurt or killed. Not understanding until it’s too late just how much he has lied to her. Now they both have to decide if what they have is truly worth saving or if everything was just a pack of lies.
Ok so I just want to say that I loved this one! Did I want to smack the crap out of Cage at times? Absolutely! But I also get why he did what he did. I just think he should have come clean sooner than he did. And in a way that wouldn’t have hurt Jamie so much. These two really are perfect for each other. They have chemistry that is off the charts but on top of that they truly like each other, which is hard to find. And the way her family comes to her side and the way they do it was beyond great! It is definitely a fast paced read that kept me reading all the way through and not wanting it to end! Of course it also introduced a couple of new characters that I feel like need their stories written as well!! Can’t wait to see where this series goes next!
I’ve been itching for this story and it did not disappoint! I loved Cage and his banter, really enjoyed how strong and independent Jaime is. A really enjoyable read, I love this series and can’t wait for more.
Cage is a 5-star idiot!!
This book is 4++ stars, but Cage’s logic is beyond belief. While it is perfectly understandable that Cage keeps his profession on the down low when hooking up, the fact that he doesn’t come clean FOR A LONG TIME is beyond crazy.
If you read Book #5 – then you already know the premise of this story. Don’t worry if you haven’t, BUT you should because it is SO GOOD!! This story run concurrently to that one.
Jaime sees what she wants and goes for it. That was quite refreshing. She’s been lied to in the past, but sees Cage as upfront and down to earth as a used car salesman. Which we, of course, know he is not.
He is strongly encouraged to tell her the truth. A fact that he keeps putting off so many times…including on their wedding night…WHAT?!?
You can’t help but root for Cage and hope that he can somehow win back Jaime’s trust. Rescuing her should give him a leg up…but maybe not!?!
I truly enjoyed this story even if I wanted to throw my Kindle at Cage a few times. He is a lovable character and as described – beyond hot, so I’m sure I’d forgive him if I was face-to-face with him too! 😉
I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.
This is a great series to follow and read. In fact, this is the best book so far. I really loved the first book Code Name Genesis and now I just loved Cage and Jamie’s story. Cage Murdock is a badass operative of the Jameson Force Security and he does not any attachments. He loves his work and is committed to it.
By chance he meets Jamie in a bar and they have a one-night stand, but their chemistry is so great that this one night led to many others with one small problem… Cage did not tell Jamie that he is a badass operative and instead he told her that he was a car salesman. Well, as a reader of romance we can see that future is not so bright for Cage…
The story is so well written, they have a great chemistry indeed and the author is wise to let them speak freely and it is really raw in their feelings.
There is action, but mostly is a book about two souls that are so afraid of commit and they end up married! I just loved this book!
Oh dear. Cage Murdoch has got himself in a right pickle, and I’m loving every single minute of it. Watching this self proclaimed ‘one night stand only’ former navy seal come undone was so much fun. Meeting Jaime Dolan in a bar and and treating her like his usual one night stand kind of woman is Cage’s first mistake, and he realises this the very next morning when he wants more. Jamie too, although she wasn’t expecting more, is very much happy to take more from this ‘used car salesman’. Therein lies Cage’s biggest problem. He should have come clean about his job as soon as he realised Jaime was more than a ‘one and done’ but he didn’t, and now he’s got to face the consequences. Book 6 in Jameson Force Security sees all the crew joining forces to battle against more bad guys, namely kidnappers holding hostages for ransom. Of course there’s all the drama with Cage and Jaime, and of course a couple of little twists to add to the story. I love this fantasy security team, and the story is quite possibly my favourite to date. I’m so looking forward to more. This is a linked series and all the books can be read as stand-alones. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.
I am pretty outspoken about hating romance to be thwarted by poor communication. Well this book is completely based off a single lie that snowballs on Cage and Jaime. I didn’t hate it, I actually really liked it but still can’t give it a perfect 5 because of miscommunication being a big part of the plotline. 4.5 stars for me!
MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE SO FAR!!!! Cage and Jamie’s story was one that I absolutely enjoyed from the first page to the last. I have been so curious about Cage since he was first introduced and curious about the woman who would finally get him to change his playboy ways. Cage and Jamie were explosive, fun, hot and sexy that I didn’t want their story to end. If you haven’t started the Jameson Force Security series I highly recommend you start!
Cage Murdock is not a relationship kind of guy. As such, he is used to giving out fake details about his job and other aspects of his life to avoid awkward morning after expectations. He thinks nothing of telling Jaime he is a used car salesman rather than the secret operative he really is. When they make a very real connection and he wants to continue getting to know her he knows he needs to find a time to come clean. But his lie catches up to him when they get married quickly and he still hasn’t found the time to come clean. Will she be able to forgive the lie when she learns the truth? Or will his lie doom them before they’ve hardly begun?
Jaime wasn’t expecting to find a spark when she brought Cage home, but what started as a one night thing quickly leads to more. She is caring, compassionate and empathetic. Her job has her constantly facing the fallout of domestic violence and bad relationships, giving her a low tolerance for deception and lies. She is close with her family, and knows they always have her back.
Parts of the beginning of this story played out in the background of Code Name: Ghost, so readers of the series will recognize several scenes though this time from a different point of view. I appreciated the scenes we didn’t get to see (that he didn’t share with Anna in Ghost) and the added insight to the relationship these scenes gave. There were times some of the repetition made the story slow down for me, but I also enjoyed seeing Jaime’s perspective of the familiar events. But, when the stuff hits the wall and Jaime needs help, his secret is blown and though he is fairly sure he can save his wife, he isn’t as certain he can save his marriage.
I love the Jameson family, and Cage has long been a favorite with his fun-loving, carefree way. I loved watching him fall for Jaime, and though I was frustrated with his little lie that quickly turned huge the longer he went without coming clean (and was frustrated as Anna was in Ghost), he was so much fun to watch as he navigated a relationship. While these two were quick to walk the aisle, their story did not end with their vows, as Cage’s secrets hung over their heads. I loved watching him do his thing and then have to figure out how to make things right with Jaime to save what has become such an important part of his life in a very short time: his marriage.

Cage has gotten himself into a little bit of situation and it was fun to see how he got himself out of it.
Cage is a former Navy Seal and a member of the Jameson Force Security team. He isn’t one to typically do relationships, however, one night when he meets a woman for a one night stand he quickly realizes that there is something more there.
Cage and Jamie’s relationship progresses quickly, but that is not surprising with their amazing and electric chemistry. Cage had some moments that made you want to knock some sense into him, especially when it came to admitting the truth to Jamie, however, he was also very protective of her.
I loved getting some overlap with Code Name: Ghost and seeing everything from a different point of view. This story can easily be read as a standalone, but I HIGHLY recommend reading this entire series, plus you’ll get to know all the other members of the Jameson Force crew.
Code Name: Rook is a suspenseful, insta love romance that is a great addition to the series.
I absolutely devoured this book. I called Cage an idiot on multiple occasions, but I loved the way the book played out. It was fast paced, steamy, and an all around great read.
Another great story in the series of the Jameson Security Group out of Pittsburgh, Pa. If you have not read any of the Jameson Security books, this definitely stands on its own. You would meet people from other books, but would have no problem enjoying the story that this book is. Cage is a former Navy Seal now doing the same kind of work for a private security company. He is the resident playboy who has never thought of having a relationship until the night he is at a bar and meets Jaime. What starts as a one night stand evolves but Cage has already dug himself a hole, and the story explodes from there. Cage was a great H but I was also very impressed with Jaime, as she was a strong, ethical and very moral heroine. We get our HEA, but as with most Sawyer Bennett books, she makes us deal with sticky relationships to get it. And, oh how fun these books and this one in particular are.
I found this story so charming! To have a big bad *** Navy Seal previously a one night stand kind of guy like Cage, now scared of coming clean to Jamie for a lie, it’s adorable. Granted, it’s one lie that snowballs but that’s what happens when he finds the right woman, he looses a bit of common sense and starts making a few dumb decisions. Jamie is so sweet and honest, always looking out for others. It’s no wonder she steals his heart. But don’t worry, even when he is new at navigating a relationship, he doesn’t disappoint. He was already a great man, but with her he is a better man indeed. And when the truth comes out, it does with a bang! No better way, it’s hot to see him in action.
