Being a highly skilled operative for a company like Jameson Force Security is exhilarating and important work…until it comes time to date. I like to keep my profession under wraps for a number of reasons. Some of what we do is top secret, most of what we do is dangerous, and more than one woman has tried to latch onto me because she was more enamored with what I do than who Cage Murdock really … is. And since I’m more of a ‘here for the night’ than a ‘here for forever’ kind of guy, what’s the harm in a little white lie about my job?My harmless deceit has never failed me. Until now. Because I met the most amazing woman and did the unthinkable. I married her. And now my beautiful, unsuspecting, probably-going-to-leave-my-sorry-behind-when-she-finds-out-the-truth wife doesn’t know that I’m not a used car salesman like I told her when we met.As it typically does with lies, the truth is about to come out in a big way when Jaime unwittingly gets herself mixed up with some unsavory characters and I, along with the team at Jameson, have to intervene. Now I need to save my girl and hope I can save my marriage too. Let’s just say I have some serious explaining to do.

Rook is the latest edition in the Code Name Series. If you have read others in the series and thought that there was a little to much action and not enough romance than this book is for you! While there are a few action scenes it is mostly about falling in love and what makes a relationship work. Cage works for Jameson Force providing many services. Security-check, dealing with mercenaries-check, getting kidnapped victims back-check. But a used car salesman… not so much. So why when he sees a gorgeous girl at a bar with her friends does he tell her he is? Well you’ll have to read to find out. But this might help explain why he hasn’t been in a real relationship.
Jamie wants the best for all people. She helps victims of abuse find refuge and helps them over come so many challenges. Because of this she holds people to a higher standard than most. But she doesn’t try to judge everyone by the same cloth so when Cage tells her he is a used car salesman it doesn’t matter to her. Jamie puts 100% into her life, work, and relationships which is why honesty is so important to her.
Then she finds out Cage lied to her not once but multiple times. He lied about stuff that she doesn’t care about. The question is is can they come back from that? Can Jamie learn to forgive? Can Cage learn to how to make a relationship work? Only one way to find out.
This is the sixth book in the Jameson Force Security series although this can be read on a stand alone basis.
This book was a little slow to get going for me although it definitely picked up in the second half. The story itself was good. It was a sweet romance and had plenty of hot moments although the drama element was a little predictable. I really liked Cage and Jaime. I thought their chemistry was great and I certainly felt the connection between them. Overall, I thought this was a solid read and I look forward to the next one. 3.5 stars
4 1/2 STARS!
An impromptu wedding leads to an emotionally dramatic love story in Sawyer Bennett’s latest! With book six in her always exciting Jameson Force Security series, Cage Murdock’s story comes to life in CODE NAME: ROOK and it’s decadently sexy!
Cage has been a favorite character of mine in the series ever since he became such good friends with Jimmy’s widow Anna. He’s sweet, he’s funny and he’s loyal as all get out. He just happens to be in over his head when his fast talking player ways come back to bite him when he falls hard for his latest pick up.
Jaime is a sweetheart and I was pulling for them as a couple all the way. Her family drama added a great mix to the passion and seriousness of the plot.
I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone who loves a romantic suspense series centering around an alpha group of security specialists as they each find their happily ever afters.
Code Name: Rook is Cage Murdock’s story. We know from the previous books that he’s the playboy of the group. After a successful operation with James Force Security, Cage heads to a bar to decompress and pick up a one night stand. Jamie Dolan is at the bar with her girlfriends when she approaches Cage for a night of fun. The two bit it off and the next day Cage realizes he wants to see her again. But he’s mad a mistake. He lied about what he does for a living and as time goes by the lie seems bigger than he ever intended. This story was cute, not a lot of suspense. I liked both characters and I enjoyed seeing other JFS characters.
Code Name: Rook
Jameson Force Security, Book 6
By: Sawyer Bennett
Narrated by: John Lane, Emma Wilder
When we got a glimpse of Cage and Jaime in Ghost, I knew this was a couple I wanted to know more about, and boy what a story they have! Meant to be a one night stand, these two had instant chemistry. Their need to be together became dating, despite Jaime’s trust issues and Cage’s no relationship rules. But now, after a quick business/pleasure trip to Vegas they are married and there is a huge secret Cage didn’t disclose. Will it be a deal breaker when Jaime find out? Sawyer Bennett is one of my favorites, always pulling me into the lives of her characters and investing my heart. At the same time, she gives a fantastic story, with suspenseful plots and incredible secondary characters. I loved Jaime’s family. From her over protective father and her loving mother, to her knucklehead brother. They brought a realistic feel to Jaime’s life and gave us a view of what her upbringing was like. Cage proved to be quite the man, never giving up, finding the little niche to get under and worm his way into Jaime’s heart. We also get to see all our friends we have made with Jameson Force Security. It’s always fun to be able to check in with people like Kynan and Anna, bringing us that family feel. Another fun and exciting listen.
John Lane nails the narration for Cage. A slight twang, a cockiness and a vulnerability all so easily believable brings this character to life. He understood his character and made him real. Emma Wilder, always the consummate performer becomes Jaime, letting us feel her fall in love and feel the deception. She is amazing at bringing out all the emotions. This is a perfect cast for this story.

We got a bit of these two in Code Name: Ghost but the pertinent info is relayed in this one and some scenes we see from alternate points of view.
Cage Murdock is an ex-Navy Seal and tough, skilled operative and focuses mostly on work. So when he goes out, it is just for hooking up and no commitments. He is hot and charming, and it is easier to get rid of women if his job is something boring…like a car salesman. One night he ends up taking home a prize and realizes the next day that he might just not be done with her yet.
Jaime is smart, sweet, gorgeous, and a good person. She works as a social worker helping domestic violence victims. She just expected a one night stand to get over her recent break-up, but Cage is different.
They did not expect to like each other or want to spend more time together. Their chemistry is hot and their personalities just jive. A man who does not date finds himself dating, but he is sure he will eventually get spooked or ruin it. One thing leads to another and things are getting more serious. But this lie he told her and continues to reinforce is just hanging over his head. And she is a woman that values trust, honesty, and respect.
When the truth comes out will she understand or is he going to blow the best thing to ever happen to him? Cage just might be up for one of his biggest missions and fights in order to earn her forgiveness and hopefully have a chance at keeping her.
This is a sweet, sexy, playboy-finds-true-love-when-least-expects-it romance with just a bit of suspense. I truly wanted to smack Cage upside the head a few times, but he is still a good and determined guy. And Jaime is an intelligent and passionate woman who is not going to settle. I really liked them together.
This brings back many of the Jameson Security team including some newer members. I enjoy visiting with the couples we know and am intrigued by a few of the newer people. I am already excited about the premise of the next book that was teased.
We got a brief teaser of the relationship between Cage and Jamie from Ghost and was eagerly waiting on their story. Cage has just returned from successfully rescuing teammate, Malik, and is out having a drink. Then he spots HER…a gorgeous redhead…who comes up and on to him. They have a one-night stand but Cage is intrigued and, before he knows what hits him, they’re dating! The problem? Jamie thinks that Cage is a used car salesman! That in itself is hilarious. As the relationship progresses & they have a quick Vegas wedding, Cage digs himself deeper into the lie. Will he ever come clean? When Jamie’s life is in danger, he doesn’t have much choice but to engage his Jameson Security team for a rescue. Will the newlyweds survive this secret?
Another well written book in this great series. Fast paced, action packed, steamy moments and a great team of agents. Looking forward to the next book!!!!
I voluntarily accepted a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I think this may be the most relatable book in the series. Little white lies that are told while worrying about the consequences that may come later on. I think that Bennett once again tells an amazing story that keeps her readers hooked from the first page and wanting more at the end. Can’t wait to see where this series finishes up!
Cage Murdoch is so frustrating! You know he is a good guy and has his reasons for his secrets, but he kept digging his hole so deep, it was hard to see how he would get out of it. Jaime comes at a time when Cage just needs some down time and a release of all the tension he is carrying. What he does not expect is how easy it is to be with Jamie. She brings out all the things he never knew were hidden in him. But he is not being honest with her and the longer he keeps up his ruse, the harder it will be to explain himself. But maybe if he marries her, she will have to listen to him and his reasons.
I love that we had already met Cage and the brief glimpses of what was going on with him. I love that Rook is told in dual points of view, so we can understand exactly how our couple is feeling. I love that this can be read as a standalone, but I encourage you to read the entire series and come to love this family of security agents.
Delightful Read
I was dying for Cage’s story, I needed to know how he got into the trouble he was in.
With delightful storytelling, charming characters and a plot that doesn’t depend on other stories Rook is an engaging read.
**ARC provided for an honest review.**
He is a player, enjoys beautiful women and has never met a woman who can keeps his attention for more than one night. He never tells them his profession – normally choosing to tell them something mundane and nondescript. When he meets Jaime, he is immediately drawn to her, she is gorgeous – but she is so much more. Cage is a sexy alpha with a sweet side. Jaime is a beautiful, strong independent woman. Their chemistry is off the charts, they really ignite the pages. Bennett does a great job detailing the build up of their romance and I kept waiting for Cage to explain his real profession to Jaime. When he finally gets up the courage to tell her – all hell breaks loose! I really enjoyed this book, catching up with all the characters at Jameson Force Security. This is a steamy, insta romance with a side of intrigue. Advanced copy provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
Another incredible story in this series! While each of these books can be read standalone treat yourself and enjoy them all. In this one we have Rook (Cage Murdock) and he is that rare alpha who is a forever kind of guy. He wants to be with someone who loves him and not his job. So when he meets Jaime a little white lie about his profession seems like no big deal. Things get crazy fast after that and before he knows it Rook’s world is turned upside down. I recommend you grab a copy of this one and enjoy this crazy wild ride. This is a must read.
5 Stars
Code Name: Rook by Sawyer Bennett is the sixth book in the Jameson Force Security Series. Even though it is part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone. This book was AMAZING and I swear, I couldn’t put it down!
All I can say is WOW!!! Cage Murdock was pure perfection!!! He is the epitome of everything you want in a hero-Smart, hot as hell, totally alpha, and successful. The only problem is- he is a player and isn’t looking to settle down anytime soon. But that all changes when he lays his eyes on Jamie. Too bad he has lied from the get-go…
I loved this story so much! Jamie and Cage had fantastic chemistry that I felt coming through the pages. I didn’t know if Cage would be able to redeem himself, or if Jamie would even forgive him. Their journey was the absolute best and I cannot wait for the next book in the series!! Highly recommend reading this book!
Oh my lord! This book is one fast paced swoony & suspenseful masterpiece!!!
Cage & Jamie meet in a bar which ends up in a one night stand. But they soon realize they would like to see each other again cause they instantly click.
Unfortunately Cage told Jamie he’s a car salesman and he doesn’t know how to tell her the truth because Jamie told him exactly what she thinks about lies!
I absolutely adore Cage & Jamie! What a great story. The suspense was high, I was totally immersed in the story and couldn’t put it down! This Jameson group series is definitely a must read, and I can’t wait to read more from them!!
love seeing these good looking, hunky, players fall hard for a woman like Cage did. When you get the right two people together that click, it’s all over. I was a little surprised that Jamie went up to Cage in a bar. Even though Cage usually is one and done, he doesn’t want that with Jamie. You know it is never good to lie about anything as it usually gets you in trouble. Since Cage usually doesn’t see a woman the second time, he always lies what business he is in. Once the two start getting closer, the lie about him being a car salesman is there in between them. I can understand that Jamie doesn’t like lies after her ex. I felt bad how her brother was using her too. Sometimes secrets have a bad way of coming out! I loved the story and strongly encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.
Cage Murdock is his job. His training as a Navy Seal was hard but it was work every sacrifice he made and he is good at. Having left his SEAL days behind, he joined forces with Jameson Security and again he is good at it.
Cage is not a “forever” type of guy, he is a man of the moment. He is failing at recovering from the a lie he told when he meets Jaime Dolan. At the bar one night after a mission he see Jamie and thinks it will just be that night. But he is asking her number and planning date after date with her. By the time he realizes Jaime could be the one he has to figure out how to explain who he is and what he does. But lies have a way of complicated things.
Jaime Dolan just wanted a night out with the girls to blow off some steam. The last thing she expected was to approach the sexy guy at the bar and end up bringing her home with him; and she definitely never expected him to ask for her number the next morning. Not how one-night-stands work, but she gives used car salesman, Cage Murdock, her number and so the big fall begins between the two of them.
While Rook is primarily about Cage trying to reveal his lie to Jaime without losing her, it still has that aspect of mystery we have come to love from the Security Force books. Jaime’s older brother Brian who can’t seem to get his life together and ultimately puts Jaime’s life in danger.
We meet Cage Murdock in Hacker’s Story, but we get to kind of know him more and his struggles in Ghost. He’s that guy in the series that you want to know his story. You want to know all the things about him. Cage is that good-natured fun- loving guy that you can easily see as a brother.
Ghost and Rook happen simultaneously so there’s some storyline overlap. One storyline doesn’t take away from the other. What I really liked was how some of the scenes that happened between Cage and Anna or Cage and Malik that happened in Ghost popped up again in Rook and we got to see it from Cage’s perspective. It makes you fall even more in love with Anna and Malik.
This can be read as a standalone but I high encourage you to read the series. It is so worth this. This is a 5/5 read for me. I love the mystery, the love and the strong alpha males of this story.
Cage Murdock works for Jameson Force Security at the Pittsburgh, PA office. Cage loves his job and the excitement that comes with it. Problem is so do the women Cage meets so now when he decides to find a hook up, he comes up with a fake, boring job. Cage now finds himself in a bit of a bind. He told his latest hookup, Jaime Dolan, he was a used car salesman…..except instead of a one and done night like usual, Cage finds himself wanting more. Cage can actually see a future with Jaime, so much so that they end up going to Las Vegas and getting married!
Everything is going great until Cage has to leave for an a assignment and has to lie to his wife. Deciding to wait to tell Jaime the truth until after he gets back of course blows up in his face. When Jaime’s life is in danger because of her brother’s problems, she will quickly find out that Cage is not a used car salesman.
It will take a lot of begging and groveling to get Jaime back into his life but of course Cage does it in a perfect way and these two will finally get their happy ending!
I really loved Cage. He thought he was a one-night-stand kind of guy but the problem was he just hadn’t met the perfect woman yet and Jaime really was perfect for him! I loved how they both just fell in love so fast and hard. I also loved how loyal Jaime was to her family, especially her brother. Her brother wasn’t always the best guy and probably didn’t deserve her loyalty, but she still gave it. Overall another great book in this series and this cover is so far my favorite!
Each book in this series is better than the last one! Cage works for Jamieson and he keeps it vague when he meets women. Jamie is a social worker and when she meets Cage, they have this instant chemistry that will soon turn into more than a one night stand. But Cage is hiding something from her and when she becomes a target in her brother’s shady deals, his true identity will come out and can cost him everything. It is a great captivating story with suspense, drama and a couple who deserve each other and an HEA. I volunteered to review this story.
Code Name: Rook by Sawyer Bennet is ofc the charts!
I love it when Sawyer writes romantic suspense, and Cage and Jaime’s story is off the charts.
A whirlwind romance turns into a race to protect Jaime, while Cafe still tries to save their marriage when she finds out what he really does for a living.
I was in love with this storyline from beginning to end.
5 Vegas Stars!!!
Oh Cage… you get 4 big idiot stars
This is Cage and Jaime’s book which basically takes place congruently to the last Jameson book. It’s part of the Jameson Force series, but can be read as a stand-alone.
Cage meets Jaime at a bar and they immediately hit it off. But for reasons that only make sense to Cage, he lies about his profession and tells Jaime he is a used car salesman. Once their one night extends into a real relationship, Jaime still doesn’t know the truth and the lie snowballs. Cage keeps avoiding the truth and eventually it come back to bite him big time.
I really enjoyed these two and their story. I loved how Cage fell hard and fast for Jaime. Jaime was a strong character who values honesty and integrity and has strong family values. They complemented each other perfectly.
Sawyer Bennett is a go to author for me and I will read and recommend everything she writes. Code Name Rook was the perfect mix of romance, humor, and suspense. You should definitely give this book a shot.
