Being a highly skilled operative for a company like Jameson Force Security is exhilarating and important work…until it comes time to date. I like to keep my profession under wraps for a number of reasons. Some of what we do is top secret, most of what we do is dangerous, and more than one woman has tried to latch onto me because she was more enamored with what I do than who Cage Murdock really … is. And since I’m more of a ‘here for the night’ than a ‘here for forever’ kind of guy, what’s the harm in a little white lie about my job?My harmless deceit has never failed me. Until now. Because I met the most amazing woman and did the unthinkable. I married her. And now my beautiful, unsuspecting, probably-going-to-leave-my-sorry-behind-when-she-finds-out-the-truth wife doesn’t know that I’m not a used car salesman like I told her when we met.As it typically does with lies, the truth is about to come out in a big way when Jaime unwittingly gets herself mixed up with some unsavory characters and I, along with the team at Jameson, have to intervene. Now I need to save my girl and hope I can save my marriage too. Let’s just say I have some serious explaining to do.

What happens when the playboy at Jameson Force Security finds the one?
Cage has found the one girl he wants to spend more than a night with and he told her the lie about what he does for a living. He thinks it will be okay when he tells her the truth because it was a little lie. But as they grow closer together and he is called away for his job, he lets the lie continue.
Jamie thinks she has found her happily ever after in Cage. They seem to be perfect for each other. Although sometimes he acts like he doesn’t like his job as a used car salesman. She wonders why he doesn’t find something he is more passionate about. As long as he is happy, she would be fine with whatever he does for a living.
When Jamie gets in a sticky situation and Cage and his teammates have to step in, Jamie finds out just what Cage’s real job is. And it is a shock to her. Can Cage make her see that he didn’t mean to deceive her for so long? Will he be able to make her understand he never meant to keep her in the dark so long? Can Jamie forgive him and they have the future they deserve?
I love this series and each couple has their own turmoil and grief to get through. As with each book, I found that Cage and Jamie are a great couple and perfect for each other. If you haven’t read this author yet, then you should and you can start with any of her books. If you have, then I hope you enjoy this one too.
**I received a free copy of this book to read and review and this is my honest opinion**
Cage Murdock is not looking for love, this playboy has his game all figured out until the beautiful Jaime. What started out as an intense attraction soon becomes so much more, but will the lie Cage told tear them apart.
I loved this story, seeing the way Cage falls so beautifully for Jaime their connection is captivating. Romance with some suspense, smoking hot chemistry and swoon worthy characters, it’s what you get in this incredible series! Sawyer Bennett never fails to keep you entertained with such engaging characters.
Every book I’ve read in this series has been amazing. Cage is a love em and leave him type of guy but, something about Jaime has him intrigued. Utterly phenomenal!
Fabulously written and wonderfully entertaining!
Deception can’t lead to a happy ending, and Cage learns the hard way.
Cage digs himself a big ole’ hole when he lies about who he the first night at the bar. He doesn’t count on falling for Jamie, but he really likes her and he doesn’t know how to tell the truth and not ruin what they have. As they grow closer, his lies grow longer. The more feelings become involved, the more complicated the truth becomes.
Jamie has been hurt and will not trust another man. When she meets Cage, she doesn’t intend to fall for him, but she falls alright…flat on her face. Just when she thinks she can trust again; she realizes that things aren’t what they seem.
When Jamie’s life is threatened, Cage has to reveal who he really is and while he may be able to win the battle, he may have just lost the war.
The latest installment of the Jameson Force Security series is delightfully fun and oh so swoony. It’s a fast-paced adventure that you can’t put down.
Code Name: Rook is the sixth book in the Jameson Force Security series by Sawyer Bennett. Each book can be read as a standalone but I do recommend reading the series since they are all have their unique stories. In Code Name: Ghost we get a glimpse into Cage and Jaime’s story so I couldn’t wait to get the complete one.
Cage was the playboy of the group. His career doesn’t give him much time to date so he keeps his fun to one night only. He lets the women know the deal and it helps that he doesn’t tell them what he really does for a living. Woman would either be okay with it, ask questions or be a stage five clinger so he makes up an occupation. It was never a big deal until he meets her. Jaime, a woman who makes the first move with confidence. A woman he enjoys the night with and he doesn’t want to leave in the morning. He should have known then that she was different but he has never been in a relationship and he didn’t know if this would turn into one. He wanted to wait until the right moment. It probably should have been before he married her.
Yep. Married. After a few weeks. He was so screwed. Jaime hated liars and his was a little lie that turned into a life-changing one. Can she forgive her husband?
I have loved every one of the books in this series and it’s the same with this one. The Jameson men and women sure know how to fall in love. It’s not easy but worth it. Every single time. Cage and Jaime have a fun, sexy, and complicated relationship. They both have careers they are passionate about and help people in different ways.
Overall…it’s a story about love, friendships, family, trust, and passion. Once I started, I didn’t want to put the book down. I can’t wait for the next book! I don’t think it’s been announced so I can’t say a word but it’s going to be good…
Quotes:
“I don’t feel the need to rebound.”
“Just regular sex then?” I suggest.
“Regular sex sounds boring.”
Christ, she’s funny. Laughing, I note her drink is low. “How about I buy you another drink while we debate the merits of this?” “That sounds like a great plan,” she replies brightly.
“I don’t slink,” I reply, offended. “I saunter.”
“I’ve been seeing someone.” My words are tentative.
Bodie breathes into the line. “Holy fuck. It’s end of days.”
I have been impatiently waiting for Cage’s book since Code Name: Ghost, and boy did Sawyer Bennett deliver for Cage and Jamie!
Cage is usually a one night kind of guy, and because of that, he isn’t typically forthcoming with his occupation. After all, being a skilled operative for a company like Jameson Force Security is a big deal, and sometimes women are more interested in his job than in him. It doesn’t usually bother him to lie about his profession, but when one night with Jamie turns into more, and the two end up married with Jamie believing Cage is a used car salesman, he quickly realizes he’s let this spiral out of control and he has to tell her. His plan to tell her very quickly unravels and Jamie is about to find out what Cage really does in a big way.
Jamie has been lied to before, and she vows to not make that mistake again. The first time she sees Cage, she can’t fight the attraction. What both agreed to be a one night thing, has turned into a marriage. But Jamie gets the sense that Cage is holding something back. When she finds herself at the mercy of some nefarious people, she finds out what Cage was holding back, and that he’s not really a used car salesman. She can’t stand lying, but can she forgive the guy she fell in love with, or is their marriage over before it really even started?
Absolutely loved this story, and how Sawyer put it together. Cage and Jamie’s relationship was something that we got a glimpse of in Code Name: Ghost, so I’ve been extremely curious about them from that point. I love that we got a more in-depth look at their relationship and how things started for them. I also really enjoyed seeing Cage’s point of view in his relationship with Anna. They truly are the best of friends, and this story made me love Anna even more! Cage and Jamie have white-hot chemistry and I loved how their story unfolded. Plus, I love getting a glimpse at some of the characters from previous Jameson Force books, and I really really love getting a look at who/what the next book in the series will be about!
I swear the Jameson books just keep getting better. Cage and Jaime were fun and sexy… and then the bottom falls out. No fear, Sawyer makes it all okay again. A little drama and suspense, a little angst, but a great ride with our new favorite security force.

Loved Cage and Jamie’s story. I had a good laugh when they first met and what Cage told Jamie he did for a living. Loved whim transform from a playboy. Their story was well written. Another great read in this series..
*I received a free review copy of Code Name: Rook. This has in no way influenced my voluntary review which is honest and unbiased.*
I thoroughly enjoyed this new Jameson Force Security installment! Finally, I got more of Cage and Jaime’s story (they were present in the periphery of Code Name: Ghost).
Cage kept something stupid to himself when he first wanted to truly date Jaime, and he saw no way out of it while still keeping this new relationship intact. His friends all told him to come clean, but he thought he had time to do so in the way he wanted to.
I loved all the interactions between the different team-members at Jameson, but most of all, I loved seeing Cage and Jaime get to know each other much, much better. They just clicked, and it was great to see their chemistry as well as the fact that they have a lot of interests in common.
As per usual, Ms. Bennett managed to include enough suspense to make my breath catch, and enough hotness to make my heart beat faster…
Code Name: Rook is the sixth book in this fabulous series and it has the same time line as the previous one, Code Name: Ghost. In that instalment, we learnt that Cage had met a woman that had him intrigued and wanting to spend more time with her. It is not something Cage does, relationships, and it is the reason why he lied about his job. And I get that because if you are only in for a quick hook up, you don’t need to give all your details. But his lie and deception becomes a bigger problem than he ever anticipated once leaving Vegas, because in this instance……. what happened in Vegas definitely didn’t stay in Vegas. Now Cage has some explaining to do and in this case, a little grovelling wouldn’t hurt.
I liked Cage, a lot and I think Jaime is his prefect match. She can hold her own, has a very sensitive side but also enough guts to do her own job. These qualities are what made Cage fall for her so instantly. The first half of this book is filling in the gaps that we missed out on in book five, and the second half is Cage executing two missions and saving his marriage. There is no grand gesture but I did appreciate how his patience and persistence won her back. There is also no epilogue because this series is still ongoing and we get to see more and more of the previously couples in the next instalment. And from the small snippet we get, looks like Ladd might have his hands full with his next assignment. I am very fascinated to see where this one goes.
Cage returns from the mission rescuing Malik and wants to find some company. He’s decided to give up when Jaime approaches and things take off. What could possibly go wrong with telling your potential one night stand you’re a used car salesman instead of a bad ass security guy? Well…. when you decide it’s not just one night and you don’t come clean, a lot can happen. Cage means well, but the lie is still there.
Jaime finds out because of drama out of her control. This is spoiler free so you have to read it to see what happens. I highly recommend this whole series!!
Code name Rook by Sawyer Bennett is book 6 in the Jameson Security Force series and tells the story of Cage and Jamie. Although, we did know a little of their story in book 5, this book can be read as a stand-alone.
When they meet at a bar, they have instant chemistry. Cage has never been one to be in a relationship and prefers one-night stands. Therefore, he tells Jamie that he is a car salesman. As time goes on he realizes that he has feelings for her, but still has not told Jamie what he does for a living, or his background.
Honesty is extremely important to Jamie, as she was recently in a relationship where her ex-boyfriend was cheating on her. As the story moves forward and she finds out the truth, let’s just say she is devastated. Will Cage be able to get back into her good graces, or is their relationship doomed? If you’re wondering what rook means, “it means to defraud or deceive someone”.
This book is definitely more romance than suspense and I truly enjoyed these two and their story. I look forward to the next story in the series; Tiara, which is scheduled for release in 2021.
My oh my!! I devoured and hung on to every word!! What a touching and heartfelt story! Rook has stolen my heart! Spontaneous, fun, exciting, passionate and loving!! Second chances, forgiveness and suspenseful! Sawyer Bennett takes you on a wild and emotional ride! What a phenomenal book!! The foreshadowing of so many events has left me conjuring so many things in my head!! I’m so overwhelmed with excitement for what’s to come!! Gahhh!! I can’t wait!!
This standalone novel is a fantastic romantic suspense set in this author’s wildly popular Jameson Force Security series. True to this author’s previous works, the character development in this book is impeccable and the story is interesting and flows well. This was a relatively quick read for me and that is because I found myself so immersed in the story that I was unable to put the book down.
Both Cage and Jaime are likable characters and the chemistry between them is off the charts. Jaime is a breath of fresh air and a strong, kind-hearted heroine. She values honesty above all else after being burned in the past. Of course, Cage has landed himself in a bit of a pickle in lying to her about his profession. This former playboy, ex-Navy Seal is positively irresistible and it was entertaining to see how he continued to get himself all tied up into knots. The romantic aspects along with the kindle melting moments had me swooning and the suspenseful moments contained some excellent twists and turns.
As Code Name: Rook is a standalone, I didn’t find myself lost but instead, I became most curious about the secondary characters and their stories. I am excited to go back and read the previous novels. If you are looking for an entertaining romantic suspense with a well flushed out plot, an engaging writing style, and captivating characters then you won’t want to miss out on this book!
Code Name: Rook is another fantastic installment in the Jameson Force Security series. I enjoy the time we get to spend with this motley crew!
Cage Murdock has recently returned from an operation that was successful, but he still needs to decompress so he heads to a local bar. He’s always been the kind of guy that likes short term arrangements with women; he’s more of a player than anything else. While a certain woman catches his attention, he decides to look and not do anything further, she turns the tables when she approaches him.
Jaime is a strong woman who works to make sure women and children are safe if and when they are in dangerous situations. She loves her job and her family, but her brother Brian is causing her some strife right now as he keeps asking for money.
When she sees Cage at the bar, she makes a move and the two end up hitting it off immediately. The relationship between Cage and Jaime develops very quickly, but there is a huge secret that Cage is keeping with regard to what his occupation is. He’s told her one thing, but by the time he is ready to tell her the truth, so much has happened that he’s terrified he’s going to lose her. Will she be able to forgive him?
I enjoyed both Jaime and Cage. They were great characters and the story moved along swiftly. I did like the role that Anna was able to play in giving Jaime some perspective on Cage and Jameson as a whole. Plus, it’s always great to see some of our favorites from earlier Jameson Force Security books. I’m looking forward to the next one in this series!
**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**
You can’t go wrong with Sawyer Bennett if you’re looking for a fast paced, sexy romance! This is a great series!
