What I love most about Natasza’s writing is how she brings her characters to life. Each one is real to me, and I feel a part of their SEAL family. The next thing is while this is fiction, she keeps things real. Very real. Painfully beautifully real. I feel everything deep inside.
I have enjoyed getting to know Tony through the whole series, and then absolutely adored him in his own book. Experiencing how he took one of the SEAL’s mantras (never give up) and applied that to his lady – melted my heart. Watching Lumin bloom and blossom under Tony’s care: breathtakingly beautiful.
I loved how even though Tony and Lumin were the main characters in this story and definitely stayed the primary focus, we got to spend lots of time with Thane Kayla, Mace, Nina, Cobb, and Marge. I kept giggling seeing how Thane was *still* having to chase down his woman!
This is a wonderful addition to the Code Name Warrior’s Challenge series – you cannot go wrong with any of these books!!
5 amazing stars
This is the fourth book in the series. These books can be read as standalones but seriously I recommend you start from the beginning as this author is going to take you on a journey you won’t wanna forget.
Natasza puts so much love and care into these stories that it radiates off the pages. She has done such a fantastic job that to me these are characters no more. They are my friends who I care about. When they are going through pain I feel as if my
heart is gonna break. When they are happy you can see a big grin on my face. You get the idea???
Each book in this series focuses on a different subject that matters to the warrior. In this book Natasza deals with faith and loss. She did this in such a way that if I wasn’t smiling or crying then I had goosebumps.
I’m not going into the storyline in my review. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. However I think this is Nataszas best book so far.
As a reviewer and a blogger I read hundreds of books. I read this book while on a long car journey. These ‘friends’ sucked me right in and I lost track of everything until Id finished.
I really can’t recommend this book highly enough. It’s a really brilliant work of art.
I was given Code Name: Luminous for an honest review by Natasza Waters
Lumin wakes up next to a dead man that she was trying to help and now she is in trouble and her only hope is a Navy SEAL she met back in December. He left a major impression on her and she has thought of him often but never expected to see him again.
Tony likes his love them and leave them life style but since December he has only really ever thought of Lumin. Now she is in trouble and he will do what it takes to save her but he isn’t ready to lose his heart. Yeah Right!!
This story has really hit a cord in my heart, my youngest daughter is in the Navy, so it has hit close to home in some ways. I don’t know how much research Natasza did to make her book plausible from the military standpoint but it kept me riveted to each page. I loved the characters especially Kayla and her “are you really gonna give me that bullshit” attitude that I could see in my head when she and the Admiral were discussing things and I could almost see her trying to hide a smirk the whole time to. I could feel Tony’s confusion when it came to Lumin and his guilt when he screwed up and she would run away from him. If it weren’t for the fact that I could really sense Lumin’s genuine desire the do right I would have thought she was being manipulative and I would have been wrong.
There wasn’t much in the bedroom department but what there was, was somewhere between sweet and oh yeah baby! I think my favorite one was when they were on the phone together and imagining they were together, holy moly.
