Kayla is intent on leaving her past north of the border. Hired as a Canadian liaison by the US Navy, she finds the Coronado SEALs tough but amiable. Their Commander is another matter. With eyes like blue steel and a body carved from it, Kayla resists the hungry attraction between them for good reason.
Navy SEAL Commander Thane Austen (Ghost) treats his women like his missions: in, out and gone. … out and gone. Returning from deployment to find Kayla is his new tactical specialist poses a challenge, one he’s never faced. When the defiant beauty with haunted eyes becomes a serial killer’s target, the Commander has the excuse he needs to close ranks around her. Fear is a word unknown to the legendary SEAL until he realizes love can be as dangerous to a warrior as combat. Convincing Kayla to surrender to him and catching a killer is a mission he won’t fail.

This book made me want to download the series by this author. I’m on the last one now.
OH MY GOODNESS.
Two weeks later and I’m still lost in this story and am planning on my next re-read right before book 2 comes out in November!! (and am keeping my eye out for those bridge chapter(s)!) So glad when this book caught my eye in the Kindle Recommended reads – because this has got to be one of the best stories I’ve read…. ever!
Once I started this book, I couldn’t look away! Kayla captured my heart and Thane, well… I want Thane (sorry, Kayla! You’re gonna have to share!). So much of this story touches my heart. I have the biggest soft spot for military men/women and their families – I know life in/around the military is a huge struggle, and that there’s something so much deeper than all the glam and frosting people tend to get caught up in. CNG brings so much of that reality out! While I sometimes want to holler at Thane and Kayla and tell them to just give in already, I can *totally* understand why they’re acting the way they are!! The story is so much deeper than just the romance and fluff that so many military romance novels contain – and I greatly appreciate that! I absolutely love how their relationship grew slowly, even though the sparks flew from day one!
I felt just about every emotion along with them – I was crying, laughing, stressing, groaning (in frustration… oh, that still don’t sound right! haha!), freaking out (I finished the book during a severe night thunderstorm, and was just a tad bit jumpy at the noises outside!).
I enjoyed building up friendships with the other members of Team One and look forward to their stories as well!
And I had to giggle – with as much complains about the ending (cliff hanger) I did go in with my eyes open – so maybe that’s why it didn’t bother me so much. Then again, sometimes I rather enjoy cliffys, and this one wasn’t as bad as what I was thinking it was going to be!
Loved Thane’s story!
I so adore this military romantic suspense series by Natasza Waters and look forward to reading more from her! Highly recommend!
It’s so easy to fall in love with this whole team of sexy, brave SEALS. The female characters are as smart and as competent as they are beautiful–a good match for these hot, adrenaline-junky Navy men.
Thane “Ghost” Austen believes he is married to serving his country until he mets newly hired Canadian liaison Kayla Banks, does his world begin to change. But there’s a serial killer on the loose, and Ms. Banks fits the profile. Ghost’s team of U.S. Navy SEALs are determined to protect her. This book has so many twists and turns, it was hard to put down, I needed to know what was going to happen next. Great character development, though Thane & Kayla could be frustrating at times, their story isn’t without complications. The Alpha Squad, each member plays a significant role and are quite likeable. I throughly enjoyed this book.
I’ve read this book 4 times. LOVE IT!
The second book CODE NAME: KAYLA is great too.
I wish this happened to me more often: I find a new author whose work I care to read past the first chapter.
Not only did I keep turning the ebook pages as I read Code Name: Ghost, I stayed up WAY past my bedtime in doing so. I couldn’t put the damn book down! This is one of those unique books that could only be written by an author with firsthand knowledge of what she’s talking about. The lingo, body language, action-packed scenes — all of it created a heart pounding, suspenseful romance.
When’s the last time you were taken out of your home and thrust into the pages of the book you read? I felt everything the hero and heroine felt. From their attraction that couldn’t be denied, yet had to be for their career’s sake, to the real danger they faced in the Middle East. This isn’t your average, pansy, military romance. This is tough, gritty, in-your-face complete with sweaty palms and a box of Kleenex.
Note: There is a cliffhanger ending and it’ll make you HOWL for more! Congratulations to Natasza Waters for her excellent writing and powerful story. I can’t wait to read more of her work.
great book
I really enjoyed this book. The characters were stubborn, real, and entertaining. I can’t wait to read the second book and see how Ghost and Kayla’s story finally comes together.
Really enjoyed the book will be searching for another from this author
Good read
Wow this book was flaming brilliant. The sexual tension was unbelievable. The male characters in this story were fantastic. Hot alpha males…. Oh they certainly made me drool:)
What can I say about the female character.. Kayla. Well this is certainly a strong with a lot of shit thrown at her in the past.
If your looking for a boy meets girl & a lot of sex book then skip this! If your looking for an angsty, hot , emotional yet gripping story then read this now.
I started this book this morning & I’ve been glued to it until I could finish it.
Be warned if you read this you will like me be messaging the author shouting for the next part of this story.
Received from author in return for an honest review.
Very bad read. There was no flow to the story, it was very predictable and every bad cliché about romance novels was done to death here. I actually spent days trying to force myself to finish it but finally couldn’t take anymore and gave up.
Good storyline. However, lots of drama to end with a cliff hanger. Seriously, I went through all that for a cliff hanger!! For being a longer novel, I expected a resolution. But, great character development, fast paced story, just give me a HEA please!
Did not like that it ended with no resolution. You have to read next book maybe another. Story line dragged out.
This is a cliff hanger and the next book is needed to know the resolution to the story, I assume. I do not appreciate cliff hangers. It seemed to take forever to build the character of the heroine. The end of the book was abrupt and left me feeling angry rather than excited about the next book. Not sure I will read the next book.
Slow moving. Had to read book two to learn who the serial killer was. The two main characters on and off romance occured too many times.
This book is not a stand alone book – it ends in a cliff hanger and you need to buy the next book to know how it ends – which means I will not try this author again.
Wasn’t aware it was a cliffhanger! Main characters behaved in very unrealistic and annoying manner.
Enjoyed reading, but be aware you will have to read the next book if you want to find out how the story ends.
