I knew the risks of this job when I signed on with Jameson Force Security. Knew my time as a marine would prepare me for the danger I would face. But no amount of training could have ever prepared me for the helplessness of watching my teammates die, the agonizing mental and physical pain of torture, or the despair of captivity. Returning home to Pittsburgh following a mission gone wrong, I am … riddled with guilt and haunted by nightmares. I spend my days trying to regain the parts of myself I lost in that desert, the pieces that made me the Malik Fournier I once was. While the physical effects of my torture are fading, the emotional ones are proving much more stubborn and I find solace from the last person I should ever seek such comfort. Anna Tate lost even more than I did in that mission. Now a widow and a single mom to the daughter she gave birth to shortly after her husband’s death, Anna offers me comfort I don’t deserve. As my feelings for Anna grow, I worry that once she learns the truth about what happened, she’ll turn her back on me. I pull her to me just as tightly as I push her away. Hoping this forbidden love will save me from the ghost I’ve become.

I was waiting and waiting for Malik’s book! I wasn’t disappointed. We get a little of his background. Then see how he is moving forward. I really liked his character and I felt we “know” him because it seems he’s has been around a bit. Anna was Jimmy’s wife. She has been through a bit with his death. With assistance she came out the other side. I did love both of these characters as well as seeing a few from Jameson Security.
We get to spend time with Anna and her friend Cage. Cage is simply adorable. I can not wait for his story! He seems so clueless about women that I can only imagine what his route will take.
My issues with this story were few. I would think Malik would have some ptsd issues after that but he didn’t seem to. As well as the whole “Ghost” moniker..how did he get it? I didn’t hear that at all. Also the time frame for this seemed short. Only three months since his capture and the death of Jimmy. I was surprised that they fell I to a relationship so soon.
Over all it’s a good story. I love reading about this crew and seeing where life takes them. I am always excited for the next in this series. I did listen to this on audio and Aaron Shredlock and Virginia Rose did a wonderful job with the narration.
After a mission goes wrong and he is captured, Malik is finally returning home to the States. Upon his return, he realizes that he lost a part of himself in the desert. As he fights the physical pain the mental pain proves to be harder to fight then he thought. The one person to step up and help bring him back into civilization and move on from the ghosts of his past is the one least expected. Anna lost her husband, Sal, during the same mission that Malik was captured. Upon seeing Malik she feels drawn to him and in need to comfort him. While Malik’s feelings for Anna grow, he tries to keep her at arm’s length while she tries to pull him closer so they can help each other heal from the ghosts that haunt them.
Code Name: Ghost is another great romantic suspense and addition to Sawyer Bennett’s Jameson Force Security series. This was a story of healing and finding yourself again after losing a piece of yourself. I felt for Malik and his struggles when he returned home and his survivors’ guilt. Anna has an absolute heart of gold and a lot of patients. These two were great for each other and their ability to help each other heal was what both of them needed. I can not wait for the next Jameson Force Security book with Rook and Cage’s story.
This was my first experience with Aaron Shedlock and I felt that he did a good job of capturing Malik and his angst. Virginia Rose did a good job also and is becoming one of my go-to narrators the more I listen to her.
*ARC was generously provided in exchange for my honest review*
Action, suspense and heartache. Bennett chose the perfect name for a character who plays hide and seek with every emotion the heart has to offer. Shedlock and Rose bring out the best of each other. Their haunting delivery of Malik and Anna will have you reaching for the tissues even as the sparks fly and the heart breaks.
A Riveting & Heartfelt Story! Brilliant Listen
Code Name: Ghost
Jameson Force Security, Book 5
By: Sawyer Bennett
Narrated by: Aaron Shedlock, Virginia Rose
I loved this book, it is a beautiful written story of two people who suffered from tragedy and loss. Malik was on a mission with other members of Jameson Force Security, it was supposed to be an in and out rescue mission but things went bad when they were ambushed from behind, two members of his team were killed and he was taken hostage, held for five months in an hole in the ground somewhere in a Syrian desert. He was tortured and was not sure what his future held, he was doubtful he even had one. Jameson Force Security lead by Kynan, did not give up on finding him, it took them months to locate him but they did and the team went in and rescued Malik. Kynan, one of my favorite characters in this series, looks out for his men, he wanted to make sure Malik got the help he needed not allowing him to go back to full duty until he was cleared. Anna Tate’s life was forever changed, she lost her husband and gave birth to his daughter several months after the loss, a bittersweet moment for her. She is learning how to live again, she is now working at Jameson Force Security and coming to terms with being a single mom. She was happy to hear that Malik was rescued, she only met him briefly before he left on the mission so she was not expecting to feel such a strong connection to him as she did. I felt the two were perfect for each other and together. Two wounded souls with broken hearts, hers for losing her husband his for the guilt he felt for the failed mission. I love how their story played out, it is beautiful plotted with plenty of drama, a bit of angst, many heart filling emotions and the start of a wonderful romance. Sawyer Bennett did a great job covering survivor’s guilt and PTSD. I loved how realistic and relatable the characters are, it is easy to see and understand what they are going thru. Also loved Malik’s connection to Cold Fury Hockey. Thank you for another awesome book, I know I said it before but this is definitely one of my favorites of yours, one of many.
I listened to the Audible edition, Aaron Shedlock and Virgin’a Rose are talented narrator and versatile voice artists. They bring the characters to life naturally and with ease, giving each their own voice. They do an awesome job portraying each characters, I loved Aaron’s Malik, he captured his true persona and sounded just as I pictured him to sound. His Kynan was perfection too, great job with the British accent. Virginia’s Anna was spot on too. Both are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen
Code Name: Ghost
Jameson Force Security, Book 5
By: Sawyer Bennett
Narrated by: Aaron Shedlock Voice Actor, Virginia Rose
If you are looking for a book with all the feels, look no further! Sawyer Bennett’s Ghost has every feel right here for you! Malik is home now, after watching his teammates dies and being held hostage. Coming back and facing all the ghosts is near impossible. Anna is a new widow with an infant and she has taken a definite interest in Malik’s well being. The two have an inexplicable connection and their attraction palpable. Now falling, will Anna be able to deal with the secret Malik has been keeping? Will Malik ever learn to forgive himself for coming home alive? This book has it all and you will feel it deep in your heart. Anna is a fantastic character. She is grieving, but she is so strong, and she isn’t shut off from loving again. Malik is so tortured. Between what he witnessed and the guilt he carries, he is a mess. I can see why Anna loves him though. Mess or not, the man is passionate and loving. Their journey is hard, each carrying their baggage, but soon find it’s so much lighter when they carry it together!
Aaron Shedlock and Virginia Rose bring this all to life. Shedlock plays the broody, tortured soul flawlessly. Each emotion Malik feels is felt through the nuances in Shedlock’s voice. Rose easily falls into character as Anna. She uses her voices to let us know exactly what Anna is experiencing. Together they are amazing!

I knew from previous books that this story would be an emotional journey and I loved the road Sawyer took us on. It was heartfelt and emotional that brought out all the fells.
From the very first page I was captivated in this story. I felt Malik’s torment and my heart broke for this tortured man. I felt all his emotions to my soul but I knew in my heart that he would find his way back. Anna was just as tormented but in other ways. She was still recovering from losing her husband and raising a baby on her own. Together Malik and Anna had a connection that ran more than just physical. They had a special bond from those events in Syria and helped the other heal and find happiness again.
Even with all the seriousness and sorrow Sawyer added intense love scenes and laugh out loud humor. I think I died laughing every time Cage interacted with Anna. His story was set up perfectly as he was blended into Anna’s life as her good friend.
Oh and Aaron Shedlock and Virginia Rose were perfection together. They mad the story that much better as they brought Malik and Anna alive. They gave joy to my ears.
This story was a highly anticipated story for me and Sawyer did not disappoint.
I’ve been looking forward to Malik Fournier’s book for a while because his story is a couple of books in the making. He was held captive by foreign militants after a failed mission a few books back. He was rescued by the Jameson team, and we saw him in the previous book recovering from his ordeal. But, Code Name: Ghost opened with Malik’s actual rescue and we see first hand how that went down.
Unlike the previous books in the series where the plot centered on a brand-new mission, Code Name: Ghost was about Malik’s struggles after his ordeal. He was determined to get back to normal as soon as possible and get back to his work at Jameson, but he had a lot of healing to do, especially his feelings of guilt having survived the mission while others didn’t. And to make things more complicated, he had to grapple with his growing feelings for Anna Tate, the widow of one of the men who died during the mission.
Code Name: Ghost was an emotional journey for both Malik and Anna. I enjoyed both of their characters. I especially liked strong, independent single-mom Anna, who was pregnant when she lost her husband. She very was determined to stand on her own and raise her daughter despite her devastating loss. I really like her friendship with one of the Jameson agents too, Cage Murdock–their scenes together provided a lot of the humor in this book. I did think Malik and Anna got together a little too quickly, and I wish they had more of a slow burn. However, family (Malik’s whole family, Anna’s mom, the Jameson team as a tight-knit group) played a huge role in this book and I loved reading about that. Malik’s family especially made me so happy and my favorite scene was when he was discussing the bro code with his sister, brothers, and brother-in-law (now I really want to read Cold Fury series!)–that scene made me laugh out loud.
I did read Code Name: Ghost entirely via audiobook and I thought it was well-casted with Aaron Shedlock as Malik and Virginia Rose as Anna. Their voices really fit their character and they did a good job conveying all the emotions in this book. Both narrators brought the story and the characters to life, and I thoroughly enjoyed their performance. You can’t go wrong with the audiobook–I highly recommend it.
All in all, Code Name: Ghost was an enjoyable read–a bit more emotional than previous books in the series but a welcome addition. I can’t wait for the next book in the series, which will be about Cage who got himself in a bit of a pickle…
I absolutely enjoyed reading about Malik and Anna. Malik had been missing after a devastating op in which his coworkers, including Anna’s husband died. This starts with him being rescued and returning to Jameson Force Security and connecting with Anna who is also now employed there. I loved seeing how they instantly had a connection and were just there for each other. Malik had a lot of survivor’s guilt he had to work through and Anna had to come to turns with moving on from her husbands death. This was such a good book and although it is a standalone, I would suggest reading the whole series first, as it’s so good and other characters are seen in it. I can’t wait for the next book.
This is book 5 in the Jameson Force Security and I would recommend reading them in order. This story is actually two that we have met before. Malik is back home after being captured on a mission where he lost some teammates. Anna is the widow of one of the men who was lost. She is also a new mom.
Anna and Malik have been through a lot, but they deserve a happy ever after right?
This story was heartbreaking and also uplifting. I can’t wait for Rook in October!

Malik was everything I needed in my life and more, I was so intrigued by this story and characters! I read the book in one sitting.
I was so glad that Malik was able to get a book. He went out on a rescue mission and never returned. There was no body found so they assumed he was alive and kept searching. He gets rescued and is back with the Jameson Group. He obviously has a lot to work through and so does Anna. Anna’s husband was also on this rescue mission but was killed (and she knew this a long time ago). So the two of them are linked because of this mission and have a lot to work through. It’s through this special bond that connects them. They’re very open with each other, never holding back on their thoughts and feelings. It’s not an easy journey for them as they have to deal with the mission and the results but it’s definitely a great read watching them work on it. Such a touching story for 2 people with their horrible past experience.
This is Book 5 of the “Jameson Force Security” Series. And I enjoyed it a lot! The book grabbed my attention since the very first page and I couldn’t put it down!
Malik and Anna’s story has everything that makes me love reading Sawyer Bennett’s works. Both characters are amazing and they both suffered a lot until they meet. And from that moment something wonderful unfolds and they learn to love, trust, smile and have a reason to live again!
Wonderful read!
First, I have been a Fournier fan for a very long time. You see, Malik Fournier is the youngest brother of Max, Lucas and Simone Fournier from Sawyer Bennett’s Cold Fury series. I could not wait to meet this hero and when I heard that Ms. Bennett was going to write a story about him in her Jameson Force Security series, I could not wait for it to hit my tablet. OMG it was well worth the wait to get my hands on this ABSOLUTELY FREAKING FABULOUS BOOK!!!
My heart broke for both Malik Fournier and Anna Tate from the very beginning. I cannot even begin to imagine the pain Anna went through, losing her husband like she did, especially being pregnant. And Malik, his guilt for coming home alive, barely, when 2 of his friends did not. I totally loved watching these two come together and healing each other. And little Avery, sweetheart, you really helped in that process as well.
I was gifted with a copy of this fabulous book for my reading pleasure and for my opinions on the book. If I could, I would rate this SPECTACULAR story and its PHENOMENAL cover with 5 thousand stars. Yes, 5000 stars.
Code Name: Ghost is the 5th book in Ms. Bennett’s Jameson Security series, and is by far, my absolute favorite in this series.
Thank you for reading my review. What are you waiting for, go hit the purchase button. I know you will enjoy this book as much as I have.
OMG – Definitely this is my favorite book in the series by far.
Malik and Anna’s journey is emotional, heartfelt, and devastatingly beautiful. Is about tragedy, loss, grief, survivor’s guilt, acceptance, compassion, love, romance, friendship and much more.
The story is masterfully crafted, well plotted and with amazing characters that will get you hooked right from the start, and turning the pages until the very end making you feel throughout the story as if you are part of it.
Aaron Shedlock and Virginia Rose’s performance was perfection. They both bring these characters to life, giving them personality, making me feel as if I was right next to them, and arousing all kind of emotions from me.
All in all, I absolutely loved it, and I wish it had been longer.
5 Stars
Code Name: Ghost by sawyer Bennett is the fifth book in the Jameson Force security series. Even though it is part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone.
This series continues to get better and better with each book that’s written. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Malik’s story and let me just say to you guys that it was incredible! It was emotional, it was well written and I swear it’s one of the best books in the series.
Both Malik and Anna were fantastic characters. They both have been through so much in their lives.the chemistry between them is electrifying and the bond they have is absolutely beautiful. With time, friendship, and a love so powerful, it will be nearly impossible for them to not have the happy ever after that they so deserve.
I loved this book so much! As always Ms. Bennett delivers an epic love story that will stay with you long after you’ve finished. Highly recommend reading this book!
After leaving the marines, Malik joins Jameson Security Force. As an adrenaline junkie, he figured he could do what he loves, with less risks. Just weeks after joining Jameson Security, Malik is sent on a rescue mission. The mission goes horribly wrong, lives are lost, and Malik is taken hostage. Jameson, never one to “leave a man behind”, works day and night following leads for months before receiving promising intel. Jameson, without the government’s permission, sends a team in to rescue “Ghost”. Ghost had all but given up hope that he would be rescued and couldn’t believe his eyes when his teammates arrived, guns blazing. But, he is haunted by nightmares and survivor’s guilt. The only one that seems to understand him, is the one he shouldn’t want….
Anna Tate, assistant to Jameson, has lost a lot in her short life. She is a widow and mother to Avery. Anna was pregnant with Avery when her husband was killed on the mission where Ghost was taken. For five long months, she prayed that Ghost would be found alive and his captors made to pay for their evilness. When Ghost returned, she was relieved—felt she could finally put the past to rest. What started out as an offer of friendship turned into so much more…If not for the “bro code”.
Talk about dangling the carrot….Sawyer Bennett’s ability to weave stories effortlessly throughout different series is nothing short of a miracle! We KNEW the mission had gone wrong in the Arizona Vengeance series as they were sent to rescue civilian hostages in Dominik’s novel, Then we get snippets of the on-going search in the Jameson Security novels. Flawless writing that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I loved the gentleness the “big, tough, Alpha” showed with Avery, his fascination with the little things in life. The connection between Anna and Malik was so strong, deep. This novel also focused on emotions and the use of counseling to talk through difficult situations. I cried tears of joy for Malik’s rescue and HEA, tears of sadness for dreams lost, but also of dreams to come. I highly recommend this novel! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
Ghost is really thought provoking as Sawyer Bennett really drills down deep into emotions that are complex and equally heartwarming and tear inducing at times. Be warned, you may need tissues as you read the first chapter.
Anna and Malik struggle to heal from a life altering event. She lost her husband on a mission and Malik was a part of that mission. Reconciling the outcome of the mission and their individual feelings is a struggle. The only difference between Anna and Malik? She’s had six months to process and come to terms. She’s determined to help him resolve his emotional stasis and move on. Kinship turns to friendship and that leads to more. Malik is a reluctant participant but no matter how much the head argues the heart wants what the heart wants. Malik’s heart willingly goes to war with Malik’s stubborn head.
Code Name: Ghost is an emotion packed story that kept me entranced from beginning to end. For those of us who have been following the series from the beginning, this book has been much anticipated and did not disappoint. We finally get the answer to whether or not Malik made it and what exactly went wrong. If your new the series you can easily jump right in, understand what is going on and appreciate what a fantastic story this is. All the emotional buttons get pushed with this story of love, loss, guilt, forgiveness and ultimately happiness. Don’t miss this one, I highly recommend it.
So I have been waiting very impatiently for this book for a while now. It’s been teased and mentioned across Bennett’s other books. It really hyped up this one. I really NEEDED to find out what was going to happen. Well, it was certainly worth the wait. Once again Bennett truly delivers an amazing product. Can’t wait to read what’s next.
Anna and Malik. Familiar faces to Sawyer Bennett fans. And if your new to this series you’ll still enjoy this great romance.
Now it’s time for their story.
Anna lost her husband in a mission gone wrong. She’s beginning to pick up the pieces of her life and she’s moving on to a. Ew normal with her baby daughter.
Malik lost his freedom in that mission and he feels responsible for loosing the lives of 2 coworkers. After 5 months in captivity he’s finally back home. And the guilt is eating him up. He has a hard time being around Anna and her daughter because of what happened. Then he starts to feel something more for both Anna and a deep affection for her daughter as well.
These two need each other to heal. They need each other to move on….they need each other to be a family.
This book was set up so that it was just wonderful to watch these souls in need of each other under such unusual circumstances come together. I enjoyed every minute of this couples journey to happiness. You can go wrong with this read.
