Sawyer Bennett delivers a sexy, emotional, and action-packed adventure in CODE NAME: GENESIS, the first release in her all new romantic suspense series, Jameson Force Security. Twelve years ago, Kynan McGrath and Joslyn Meyers were in love. She walked away without a backward glance, but now that a dangerous stalker has threatened Joslyn’s life, she is turning to the one man she knows can save her life—Kynan. Now as the danger they face increases, Kynan realizes he’ll stop at nothing to keep Joslyn safe. Because even after all these years, Joslyn has his heart
What’s not to love in a Sawyer Bennett romance? Hot guy. check. Great heroine? double check. Great story? I’m all in. Definite one-click!
“Our bond was forged twelve years ago, and I had once thought it was broken. It isn’t. It was only put on ice. Now, it’s been thawed and has since heated to nuclear proportions.”
If you’ve been reading Sawyer Bennett’s Wicked Horse Vegas series, then you’ve already met Kynan McGrath. If you’ve been wondering what’s been simmering in his past, you are in for a treat. You’ll be meeting her in Code Name: Genesis.
Joslyn walked away from Kynan 12 years ago, leaving her heart behind. She didn’t plan on seeing him again, but when her life is threatened by a stalker who is getting progressively more dangerous, he’s the one she trusts to protect her. She might not trust him with her heart, but she does trust him with her life.
It’s immediately obvious that the fire is still burning between them when they are reunited. I felt the heat through my Kindle, worried I might have to hold it with a potholder to finish the story. I devoured this suspenseful tale, curious to learn the details about their past that caused them to part ways and to learn the identity of the stalker.
Kynan is an alpha asshole toward Joslyn at first. He’s bitter about her leaving him without explanation and doesn’t hide his venom. At the same time, he’s still drawn to her beauty and his body betrays him by being excited to see her. “Bloody hell, but feelings have resurfaced for me and it’s a mind fuck for sure.”
Did you catch that British slang? Yup, he’s got a sexy accent to go along with the tattoos and muscles. He’s determined to keep her safe and catch her stalker. And she’s determined to keep her hands to herself, but it’s hard because, “He’s the most gorgeous man I’ve ever know in my life, and everything about him pushes my buttons.”
I can guarantee he’ll be pushing your buttons too…sigh. And wait until you meet the rest of his team. Excuse me while I fan myself. The line forms here…
Another fantastic series by Sawyer! Highly recommend!
When it comes to Sawyer Bennett, I’ve only ever read from her hockey series. And for the year, I wanted to add more romantic suspense to my TBR and that’s where Code Name: Sentinel popped up and I loved every minute of it!
With this one being the first that I’ve read from the Jameson Force Security series, I’m pretty eager to go back and read Code Name: Genesis.
I think I need to add more bodyguard romances to my tbr because I’ve come around to loving them. And the whole forced proximity, something’s bound to happen and it was steamier than ever!
To me, this was a bit off opposites attract, but they were so perfect for one another. There was an instant attraction between and add in their banter, things were heating up pretty quickly.
Cruce has his feelings for Barrett, I loved that when it came to his work, he kept those feelings as tight as possible. But there was no hiding from the other guys he works with. And it was hilarious when they would call him out on it.
The suspense was perfect and I kept turning page after page. Barrett endured soooo much towards the end, but it truly showed how strong of a character she is!
I’m soooo looking forward to starting at the beginning and all the books to come!

The first release in an all-new romantic suspense series from Sawyer Bennett! CODE NAME: GENESIS is a sexy, emotional, and action-packed adventure.
Once again Sawyer Bennett has given us an incredible story that is her own special brand of sexy! It’s a second chance romance kicked up a notch by being wrapped up in a story full of action and suspense. I have adored Kynan since he first appeared in the Wicked Horse Vegas series. Now that I have his whole story I am in love!! These characters are amazing, their chemistry intense, and as Kynan and Joselyn’s history unfold you can’t help but want to see them find their way. There are twists and turns to their story both past and present that will keep you on the edge. Make this a must read. I definitely recommend this one and personally can’t wait for the next Jameson Force Security book.
Danger, suspense, forgiveness, love and lust- this romance has it all. The storyline is more exciting than a crossing of Jason Bourne with the Bodyguard. Sawyer Bennett does not disappoint with this first book in her new series. Once you start reading it, you won’t stop until the very last page has been read.
Kynan and Joslyn have a past that left them both hurt. Twelve years ago, she walked out without an explanation, taking his heart with her. Now it is locked way for good. Kynan’s business is on the up-swing and he is successfully expanding his security company. He is convinced that he has got everything he needs in his life, until he gets a phone call that threatens to dredge up the hurt and pain that he has locked carefully away. As Kynan discovers that Joslyn’s life has been threatened, he hates that he needs to protect her, but his security company is the best there is, and the job is personal. As the danger gets closer, unwillingly, they do as well. The blend of suspense with second chances, forgiveness, and unconditional love make this story a best seller. Code Name: Genesis is one you will read over and over again.
Welcome to the new series Jameson Force Security, this first book is Code Name: Genesis and is Kynan McGrath. And if you have read any of the Wicked Horse: Vegas series then you know who he is. And if not you will meet him here and will not forget him.
Kynan took over Jameson Security Group and branched out into Jameson Force Security because he wanted to move into other types of jobs besides security for celebrities. When he gets a call to protect a celebrity from a stalker, he wants to hand it over to someone else when he learns who it is. He hasn’t see Joslyn Meyers in over a decade and he doesn’t want to see her now.
Joslyn knows that Kynan is the only person to keep her safe. But the years apart and the pain between them may be too great. She has to convince him that he has to help her. He has to catch her stalker and then they can go their separate ways.
Will Joslyn tell Kynan why she left him all those years ago? Can he forgive her for the pain it caused? Can he protect her from the stalker? Will they be able to keep their hearts safe while the sparks fly when they are together? Will her stalker ever be caught?
This story is filled with suspense, heartache, pain, and love that is made to last forever. I loved Kynan in the Wicked Horse: Vegas series and fell even more for him here.
If you haven’t read anything from Sawyer Bennett yet, start with this one and I promise you will love it too. Then you can go back and read any of her other series.
**I received a free copy of this book to read and review and this is my honest opinion**
4.5 stars—CODE NAME: GENESIS is the first instalment in Sawyer BEnnett’s contemporary, adult JAMESON FORCE SECURITY erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on the men and women who work for Jameson Force Security. CODE NAME: GENESIS focuses on thirty -two year old award winning singer and actress Joslyn Meyers, and thirty-eight year old, security specialist and former British Special Forces Kynan McGrath. The Jameson Force security series is a spin-off from the author’s WICKED HORSE VEGAS series, which in turn is a spin-off from her Wicked Horse Series. Joslyn and Kynan’s story begins in WICKED FORCE, Sawyer Bennett’s contribution to Kristen Proby’s BIG SKY cross-over collection. I would recommend reading WICKED FORCE for back story and history between our leading couple. There is also a slight cross-over with the mention of the author’s Carolina Cold Fury Hockey Series, and a potential new agent for Jameson Force Security -Malik Fournier.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Kynan and Joslyn) CODE NAME: GENESIS picks up twelve years after Joslyn Meyers pushed Kynan McGrath out of her life. Hired as security for her first concert tour, a then nineteen year old Joslyn Meyers would fall in love with her twenty-six year old, security guard Kynan McGrath but betrayal and manipulation would see Joslyn pushing Kynan out of her life without explanation or good bye. Fast forward to present day wherein Joslyn has a stalker, and the only man she trusts is the same man she pushed away years before. Struggling to move on from his broken heart and the betrayal by the woman he loved Kynan reluctantly becomes guardian and protector for our story line heroine. Kynan and Joslyn will enter into a fake relationship in an effort to draw out Joslyn’s stalker, a man who begins to up the stakes with each encounter. What ensues is the rebuilding and rekindling / second chance relationship between Joslyn and Kynan, and the fall-out as Joslyn’s stalker threatens more than our heroine’s life.
Kynan McGrath has never forgiven or forgotten Joslyn Meyers but moving on meant putting the pain behind him for good. Never expecting to see Joslyn again, Kynan is surprised and angry when Joslyn begs Kynan to see to her protection. Joslyn Meyers believes Kynan betrayed her love and her heart but desperate times called for desperate measures ,and Joslyn was willing to put her anger aside to procure the help of the man she once loved.
The relationship between Kynan and Joslyn is one of second chances; a rekindling romance between two people whose love was destroyed by betrayal and lies. The lingering anger between our leading couple barely hides the palpable sexual attraction that pushes our hero over the edge on more than one occasion. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
We are slowly introduced to Kynan’s Jameson Force Security Team as he gradually interviews and hires the people he trusts: former inmate and IT specialist Bebe Grimshaw; former US Secret Service Agent Cruce Britton; US Marine Saint Bellinger; Jericho Jameson; Joslyn’s mother Madeline and her husband Darrin Dawes, as well as her manager Lynn, and publicist Harry.
CODE NAME: GENESIS sets the background and introduces the players and security specialists at Jameson Force Security. The premise is fascinating and bewitching; the characters are colorful, energetic and intriguing; the romance is spicy and hot. CODE NAME: GENESIS is a wonderfully entertaining introduction to Sawyer’s new Jameson Force Security.
Awesome kickoff to this new series by Sawyer Bennett! I am 100% satisfied as I always seem to be after one of her books! I have been anxiously awaiting Kynan’s story and only fell in love with him more at the turn of each page!
Kynan has not seen Joslyn for a dozen years since she left, breaking his heart in the process. He has never let himself be that vulnerable with a woman since. But when Joslyn is in trouble Kynan is the only one she trusts to help her so she reaches out to him. Joslyn’s safety becomes his number one priority!
Clearly they still care for each other, but they have both changed so much. Only time will tell if that chemistry and attraction is enough to cut through the hurt and maybe find a future together and the love they once had for each other.
I loved this book! Can’t wait for more!
4.25 Stars
Kynan bought his buddy’s Las Vegas based Security company a little while back. Now he wants to expand the business. He bought a huge ‘secret’ facility in Pittsburgh to be able to accept more of his beloved ‘exciting secret government’ contracts.
But before he can get really started with that, his past comes crashing back into his life.
The love of his life is back. Joslyn left him without a word 12 years ago – and he still hates kinda her for it. But she desperately needs his help now.
She’s a famous singer/actress and she’s got herself a very dangerous stalker ….
WHAT WiLL HAPPEN WiTH JOSLYN & KYNAN??
WiLL THERE BE A HAPPiLY EVER AFTER?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!
OK, first of all … how do you pronounce Kynan?? Kee-nan? Kigh-nan? Künahn? LOL! I hope for the first!
I LIKED THIS BOOK!
This is going to be a great new series.
It was exciting and suspensy and mysterious and dangerous and erotic and sad and frustrating.
I hate misunderstandings! How can they be sooo in love and then just accept what someone tells them? But of course they didn’t really know know each other all that well back then – they were so in lurve, but they’ve only known each other for a number of WEEKS!
But now is the right time for that second chance – if they all survive this stalker business!
I really enjoyed reading this – I even cried a few times. Bebe’s story is so heartbreaking!
I can’t wait to get Cruce and Saint’s stories!
A couple tiny things that prevented me from giving five stars – I’ll put them in a spoiler thingy:
(view spoiler on goodreads) BUT – I really liked the book and I will definitely read the next ones too!
CODE NAME: GENESIS was a very exciting & sexy start to this new romantic suspense series! Run to your nearest amazon for your own sexy British bodyguard – this one is already guarding mine!
4.5 stars
Now THIS is the story I was hoping Kynan would get! I will admit to being a little disappointed in the prequel to this book but Code Name: Genesis more than made up for it!
Twelve years have passed since the end of Wicked Favor. Joslyn has become the superstar her mom wanted her to be, and Kynan has now bought out Jerico’s business rather than just working for Jameson Security. For those who have read the Wicked Horse Vegas series, you know Kynan has always shied away from relationships and commitment- we can now guess that the hurt Joslyn inflicted on him all those years ago is the reason behind it. When Kynan receives a call that Jos is in serious danger and is asking for Jameson Force Security’s help, his reaction wavers between disbelief and anger, but he cannot say no when he hears her voice again and the reason she reached out to him. That doesn’t stop him from a few complete d-bag moves though and I know he is going to absolutely piss off some readers with his actions (he certainly lost points with me). Fortunately he doesn’t take long to pull his head out of his fine British arse though.
They both have a lot of lingering distrust and pain to work through as they were both lied to and manipulated by Joslyn’s mom. They may have been young but the love they had for each other was very strong and very real, and it quickly becomes apparent that it won’t take much to fan those flames back into a raging inferno. Kynan’s plan to act as Joslyn’s fiance to draw out her stalker is a little too believable, and they have to decide if they are willing to risk their hearts on a second chance at happiness.
In addition to the heat and chemistry, Code Name: Genesis has plenty of suspense to go around too as Kynan and his new team work to discover the identity of Joslyn’s stalker and eliminate him before he can strike again. The secondary characters of new Jameson Force recruits Cruce, Saint and Bebe are very intriguing with layered backstories that I cannot wait to dive into in the future. Code Name: Genesis was a definite page turner with heat, suspense and a little bit of danger, and I will be eagerly awaiting more of this new series!
Audiobook Review
I really liked this second-chance bodyguard romance, but the audiobook narration took my enjoyment to the next level.
The story strikes a good balance between danger and romance. Kynan is the head of a security firm and Joclyn is the famous singer/actress/ex-girlfriend he is hired to protect from a stalker. Things ended badly between them, but Kynan is an inexcusable tool towards her in the beginning of the book. He can be quick to judge, but once Kynan has time to cool off, he thinks logically. Joclyn was 19 when they first met, and even though it has been over a decade since they last saw each other, the attraction is still there. It’s obvious Joslyn is more mature now, and I was glad to see they’ve gotten better at communicating with each other.
I didn’t buy the necessity of a pretend engagement, but I liked them together as a couple so I didn’t mind any excuse for some PDA. I was sorry that Joclyn isn’t portrayed in her work environment, though, since I enjoy behind-the-scenes celebrity stories.
The narration is stellar. Shane East has a sexy as sin British accent, but he also pulls off an American accent quite well. Imogen Church is a true gem of a vocal performer. Her expressive portrayal of Joclyn is authentic and nuanced, and she also does a fantastic job voicing Kynan. I need to find more of her work ASAP! It can be challenging to find male narrators who can voice female roles—and vice versa—without sounding cartoonish, but East and Church make it sound easy.
Code Name: Genesis is the first book in the Jameson Force Security series, and I’m already intrigued just based on the team Kynan has assembled so far. I’m looking forward to reading more about them.
I loved it! It has everything I look forward to read in a book, be it an enemies to lovers romance, a second chance, a steamy couple of scenes, inspirational characters, action, tearful scenes and love. Lots of love!
I have tried to read a book from the Wicked horse series and I couldn’t finish it because it wasn’t for me. But then I read the sinopse of this one and I knew it was going to be memorable. And my gut was right.
I fell in love with the book (and boy that happens so many times, thankfully), but more than that I fell in love with its writer. Sawyer Bennet made me addicted and her book totally consumed me. I ended it and I thought “I have and want to read another book form her, and maybe even try again to read the book I have from the series Wicked horse.” She is that good!
I enjoyed the main’s couple story, but I also loved the little peeks into other characters life and the goodness in this book is beyond it’s pages.
I will reread and if you haven’t given it a try, you are losing a gem!
Low Sawyer Bennett’s books.
02/04/2021 “Code Name: Genesis” (nook) is a sigh-worthy love story – after the heartbreak. Ms. Bennett is a marvelous writer and I loved this book with alpha men and strong women. I cried through parts of the story because I felt as if my heart was in a vise. “Code Name: Genesis” contains it all – suspense, angst, heartache and, intense emotions.
A suspenseful, action packed, intriguing, and wonderful second chance romance. Kynan and Joslyn have an amazing connection despite their past. I enjoyed every invigorating moment of this thrilling story. Cannot wait to read more of the Jameson Force Security series. Sawyer Bennett never disappoints.
