I loved Tate and Decker!
They made the perfect couple! The storyline was great and their chemistry was explosive! Sparks flew from their first meeting and only got hotter! Cocky Playboy grabbed me from the start and I couldn’t stop reading! It was a hot, steamy, sexy, funny, emotional story. Alex and Sloane did a great job with the first book in the Cocky Suits Chicago series! I can’t wait to read more of the Collins Brothers stories!
Beautifully written. Original story with wonderful characters, lots of feelings, enemies to lovers, mystery and romance. Very hot sex scenes! Everything I read by these authors is fantastic and has a HEA ending.
If ever there was an arrogant a**, I think Decker Collins fits that bill. He’s smirky, and cocky, hot and arrogant, but there’s also another side that comes out after spending time with Tate Reynolds. It starts out sparring and one upping, working together in not quite friendly environment. Deep down, as they’re both arguing, other feels are going on. And let’s just say, we get to see many sides of both Decker & Tate, and some of them get hot! I very much enjoyed this team up and hope to read more!
This was the first book I’ve read by Alex and Sloane and I was in love with this book!
Decker Collins is one of those guys. You know. Gorgeous, successful, cocky, determined. Once he has a mission, he sticks to it. So when Decker decides that he needs to merge his firm with his best friend’s Dallas firm, he’s determined to do whatever it takes to make it happen and to make it happen quick.
Enter Tate Reynolds. She’s beautiful, sassy and determined to do her job, no matter how distracting the cocky and deathly handsome Decker is.
These two were explosive! It was a forbidden romance but that makes it all the more exciting. Decker can’t seem to keep his mind off of the vixen in Versace but he needs to stay focused. He needs this merger to go through, whether his brothers approve or not. Tate is ready to lay it all on the line. Yet when secrets get revealed, will Decker stay around for the long run?
I loved Decker. He was brash yet enduringly sexy. Tate was a spitfire who knew what her worth was and stood up for herself. I loved the soft moments and the tense moments all around. I couldn’t put the book down and can’t wait to read more about the Collins Brothers in this enticing series!
So this book is about Tate and Decker. Tate is in Chicago to oversee a merger happening between her company with another. While in a rush for the meeting she bumps into someone and its lust at first sight.
The next day she gets to meet the company she is merging with and surprise surprise it’s the same sexy guy whose voice was so deep omg she bumped into.
Now it’s not just her it’s also Decker who has insta lust for her but he has a rule he does not mix business with pleasure, hmmm heard that one before let’s see how long this one last.
** spoiler alert ** I need a moment before I start ranting.

In 3 weeks between almost kissing twice and an almost blowjob they finally do the deed. As soon as they are done there is a knock at the door, Decker opens the door and in comes a woman. (view spoiler) Instead of explaining to Tate who he literally had sex with a minute back he just tells her I’ll explain everything later and slams the door on her face. Yes, babe you just got dismissed.
Then she goes to a “friend” and tells said friend about everything (by this time she knows he has a kid, she just does not know if the woman is his wife or girlfriend) and said friend is like “Maybe you should give him a chance to explain. At least five minutes. Maybe it’s just a misunderstanding, and your feelings and everything that’s going on are amplifying it into a bigger issue than it is.”
Oh, I’m sorry slamming the door on someone’s face can be a misunderstanding. Cool.cool.

Anyway she lets him give his explanation, she meets the daughter and everyone is happy and then the mother shows us, breaking the “never come near my daughter and my house clause”. You know what? Just read their conversation just read it yourself and tell me what you think.
This is Decker and the baby mama.
“I snort. Monica’s only out for number one. “I guess we’re moving on to manipulation tactic number two, where you pretend you care about us now. Look, you’re the woman who gave birth to Jenny. Nothing more. So, don’t come here acting all righteous like you’ve ever given a damn about her or me.”
“We’re done here. Tell me how much so I can sign this check. And once I do, this is it. It’s the last one, so make it count. I don’t want to see you. I don’t want to hear from you. I don’t want you to think about Jenny or me again. We’re dead to you.”
And THEN LITERALLY A SECOND LATER DECKER IS LIKE
“I forgive you, okay?”
“You’re not a monster, Monica. You didn’t have the best examples growing up. I’m not blaming your parents for who you are, but it makes a difference. There are a lot of good things about you. I really do wish you the best and hope you find whatever makes you happy. It just can’t be our daughter.”
Moving on we get to read my favorite quote from the book by Miss Tate
“Monica has no idea what she missed out on with Jenny and Decker. That’s okay, though, it left the door open for me to come into their lives.”
Don’t thank Monica Hunny that Decker’s dick.
Fast forward Tate’s boss is not happy with the relationship, forces Tate to leave Chicago. Then Decker threatens the boss to cancel the merger if he does not let Tate come back. They both say I love you, move in together and get engaged 6 months later
“The day we met, I knew there was something special about you. I never imagined what would follow. I never imagined I’d find someone who could fit into mine and Jenny’s lives so seamlessly. You put me in my place more times than I can count. You put up with me. You know me better than anyone. You’re my best friend. My partner. The only woman…” He pauses and drops to one knee.
Tears stream from my eyes, and I both hate and love that he can turn me into a blubbering mess.
Once down on his knee, Decker continues, “I want to share my life with. Will you marry me?”
Cocky Playboy was a first read for me by either of these authors and it won’t be my last! Decker and Tate are both strong characters and I love the tension between them. The chemistry is off the charts. This story is so much more than the merger between two law firms, it was family and friends and finding love. Cocky Playboy is a fun, sexy read. Looking forward to more by these authors.
At first I was not sure how I would feel about this. Girl meeting cocky, arrogant man who is hot, sexy, and of course, thinks he’s God’s gift… it turns out, he was all of those things and so much more! I also really liked that the book flowed seamlessly for me and I had no idea when it moved back and forth from one author to the other. Sometimes books written by two authors, you can tell one takes one character and one takes the other and the writing style just doesn’t mesh, and other duos do it seamlessly, and Alex Wolf and Sloane Howell are one of those duos. I actually hope that we get more books from the two of them!
This was a hot enemies-to-lovers romance. Their companies were merging and Tate had come to the office to make the merger work with Decker’s company. Little did they know that they were going to fall madly in lust, in hate, and eventually in love with each other during the process. I really liked the story and am hoping for more!
