For the freedom of creative expression, I support the charitable cause of this anthology of 40 best selling authors, many of whom I have read, love, and one-click every chance I get. Today these freedoms are being threatened. And today, we take a stand.
This Anthology was pretty funny. I ended up only skipping a few of the short stories, skimmed a few other but all in all I got tons of laughs!
Amazing! Congratulations to all the fantastic authors who contributed to this. A single, commonly used word should not belong to a single author or person. Way to join forces to stand up for what is right. I’m honored to be able to contribute in the small way that I can.

A good reason to be cocky!!
Firstly let me say that I absolutely, 100% support the reason these authors quickly put together this anthology and even if I didn’t know a single author who I contributed I would have bought this collection regardless. But I was lucky enough to know quite a few of the authors and so I’ve chosen to read and review their stories below (and hopefully get around to reading the other contributions at some stage as well).

Cock and Balls – Amy Daws
This story is pure perfection. I’m a die-hard fan of the Harris family and getting to see Indie and Cam’s secret wedding was so so so so good!! It was perfectly them and the little insights we got of the rest of the Harris family made this an absolutely highlight of the anthology. My only criticism (and this will be an recurring theme I’m sure) is that it wasn’t long enough lol
I will forever be a #HarrisHoAndProud

Fight or Flight – Meghan Quinn
Meghan Quinn has given us a little look into the fighter pilot world in which her upcoming duet is set and I could’ve be more thrilled. This was fabulous and I’m desperately hoping we get to see more of Stryder (because the books will be about Colby who we also met) as I have a feeling he has a very intriguing back story.

Until the Cock Crows – Sierra Simone
Sierra Simone does hot, erotic taboo like an absolute master!!! And this short story of a preacher and the woman who works alongside him at their Methodist Church is all kinds of steamy, sensual and downright sexy!! I love Corabel’s sass, I love Mark’s cockiness and I love these two together.

The Golden Sombrero – Kate Stewart
Yay! More Alice and Rafe and Ren and Erica I haven’t got around to reading Kate’s “Balls in Play” series but I met this motley crew in Kate’s contribution to the Team Player anthology last year. And as I’m always a fan of romance novels that include married couples – this story totally hit the mark. Flirting, seduction, a ridiculous baseball superstition about no sex and you have a recipe for an incredibly awesome story. Another winner!!!!

I initially purchased this book to help out The Authors who want the Freedom to use whatever words they choose.
Although I was pleasantly surprised when I found many of the stories fun and entertaining and hot!
There are a few stories I had to skim past, because I am a visual reader. Not everything needs to be stuck in my head. I recommend reading this book if for nothing more than to get to read these Wonderful Talented Authors. I now have Followed many on Goodreads! I’m excited to read anything these story tellers have to write!
What enjoyable reads, found a few new authors to check out! Worth buying and reading!
Beard and Hen-Penny Reid
Cletus suffering from sexual frustration makes his brain short circuit. It made him so normal and cute! I am so looking forward to Cletus and Jen’s cozy mystery series!
Double Cocked-Jana Aston
Yep, the precursor to this short was soooo true. Jenny is a witch with a “B”, but I really wasn’t expecting that ending!
Illusionist Seeks Neanderthal-L.H. Cosway
Ok, I’m bad. How the heck have I not read L.H. Cosway yet?!!!! Quick wit and humor run rampant when Jay from Six of Hearts crosses paths with Janie Morris from Penny Reid’s Neanderthal Seeks Human. So, so good! I need to pick up Jay’s book ASAP…
Cock and Balls-Amy Daws
Camden and Indie are too freaking cute! Overall, this was a sweet read.
The Cockier the Dragon, the Harder They Fall-Jaymin Eve
Dragon shifter, wolf shifter, fey, vampires, and a supernatural prison? The brief mentions alone make me want to check out this series!
Culinary Cock-Up-Julie Johnson
Emmeline and Emmett light up the kitchen in this enemies to potential lovers story. It felt like more focus was spent on the kitchen aspect than relationship, however sparks and passion could be found in both areas.
Cockamamie-Staci Hart
Rin and Court have quite the hilarious conversation over roosters and research. This was cute and funny!
Cockblocked-Corinne Michaels
Liam (Consolation) isn’t taking the teen years too well, especially prom time with Aarabella. He generously invites the rest of the team over to meet her date…Liam, Nat and the gang=freaking hysterical!
Getting It Up-Liv Morris
A sports player, his physician assistant and an erotically charged phone call to help get his mojo back. Sexy times!
Tristan and Anna-Karla Sorensen
Tristan and Anna get ready for their big day. Everything is perfect, until the rooster. Almost sappy sweet yet super adorable, I need to pick up Tristan’s book to see how these two met!
Grip and Bris-Kennedy Ryan
Grip and Bris have to learn how to juggle family, careers, and personal time with each other. I thought this one was easy to relate with and liked how Grip cut to the chase about the importance of them as a couple.
A great anthology . Full of laughs , cries , heartwarming moments and some really steamy ones .
I enjoyed them all.
So, if you follow the romance book world, you probably remember the whole deal with the author who tried to copyright the word “cocky” last year. And the author’s books that she reported to Amazon and they had to change their title and it cost them a lot of money. This anthology was published by authors in support of the authors who had been hurt by this crazy idea of trying to copyright a word. So of course, I had to buy a copy! I got a lot of autographs in it at Book Bonanza last summer. I just finally finished reading it this year though. There are almost 40 different stories in this anthology. I didn’t actually read all of them, because they weren’t my types of stories. I’m not going to talk about every single story, that would take too long. I’ll just go over a few of my favorites. As soon as I got it, I immediately turned to the Amy Daws story and read it, and of course loved it. Cam is my favorite Harris brother after all! Surprised I didn’t immediately turn to Kylie Scott’s story next, because it was Mal, my favorite book boyfriend, or one of the top three. But I did love that one too! Some new authors I think I’ve found from this book are Dylan Allen, Whitney Barbetti, Ruth Clampett, Mariah Dietz, Lex Martin, Jessica Prince, Julie A. Richman, Kate Stewart, and maybe Karla Sorensen. A great book! You can’t get it anymore I think, other than used copies. Not sure if they’re even selling the ebook anymore either. But they made a good chunk of money to donate to those authors who needed the legal fees and such. So if you can get a copy, you should check it out!
A good chance to sample a lot of different writing styles but I felt like I was being roped into buying more books. I did discover some authors that I liked & look forward to reading more from them.
ANThology to help a great cause!
I love what Cocktales stands for and loved all the stories. I found so many new authors to explore!
I love the stories from these amazingly talented and Cocky authors. I totally enjoyed visiting with some old book boyfriends and their heroines. I recommend this book because it’s for a wonderful cause but also because it has many hours of reading enjoyment. I appreciate the heart put in this book by some of my favorite authors.
I absolutely loved Cocktales. Having all these authors put their stories together is genius! I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time. I have found so many new to me authors I can’t wait to dive into!
Great variety of writers to get a sense of content/style.
Love the cause this supports!
Amazing stories for a cause that’s futile!
I’ve read these beautiful stories and I will continue to do so, read, re-read, and sigh…. But to have these wonderful authors stand up for each other and all of their friends is what made this book great for me. Stand up for what you believe in. #sisterhood at it’s best. Congrats to all of the authors in this book, but also I praise the ones who weren’t as well.
Man the stories in tbis massive book os great, the fact thay is supports all our wonderful authors is another grear thing!!!
Who doesn’t want an Epic collection of short stories that have your turning pages so fast . You’ll find yourself revisiting some favorite characters you may have been missing. What could be better. Well I’ll tell you!
This Anthology of AMAZING AUTHORS have taken a stand to fight a ridiculous injustice that is happening . It is to show that WORDS are not to be OWNED. There are reasons for trademarking what is going on now is selflish . Well out of the selfishness of some we have seen the selflessness of many .
This bonus is you find out these Authors are spoiling us with this fun book and damn the great words we are being given between these pages are worth every penny. PURE HAPPINESS!
All proceeds are being donated to assist the people who have suffered from the travisty this TradeMark chaos has caused. Take a stand. Buy this book Be supportive. They are amazing people behind these stories!
This was an amazing collection of the greatest authors! I loved every story! I even want this on paperback! LOVED IT!
