(previously titled: Worth the Risk)From New York Times bestselling author K. Bromberg comes a new, sexy standalone about taking chances and finding love when it’s least expected. Or wanted. This whole contest was supposed to be easy. I know, I know. Famous last words. It’s a long story, but I messed up at work. Big time. To earn back the trust of my boss, I promised to save one of our magazines. … time. To earn back the trust of my boss, I promised to save one of our magazines. Yep. That Hot Dad contest you’ve seen advertised all over the place was my idea. And if I’m successful, if I’m able to increase our online readership, then I get a shot at my dream job.
But the one thing I never expected to happen, happened: Contestant number ten, Grayson Malone. Hello, Mr. Difficult. And did I mention sexy as hell?
Unfortunately he knows me. The old me, anyway. And while we might be older now, I remind him of before. Of the woman who broke his heart, who hardened him, and who left him alone to raise the cutest little boy I’ve ever seen.
But I don’t want a relationship. And I definitely don’t fall for single dads with baggage. Even ones with chiseled abs and killer smiles.
But he got to me. They got to me.He and his son and their messy, crazy life. But I got to him too. I see the stolen glances. I feel the walls he built start to crumble. I recognize that there’s an unexpected beauty to the chaos in his life.
And now that the contest is about to end, we’re left to decide whether the last six months were just fun or if what we have is worth risking it all?

Grayson and Sydneys story is one I’ve been dying to read . I mean hello another Malone brother that made me swoon fast and hard . But his son Luca is the cutest thing ever !!! How can you not love a single dad ?? Sydney is one heck of a heroine . I love her !
I was engulfed in this story from beginning to end . I LOVED IT !!
K. Bromberg is one of my absolute favorite authors her story’s always give you all the feels , HOT sexy scenes and a story that will stick with you .
Another phenomenal read by K. Bromberg. Love the “Worth the Risk” theme, how something you don’t expect can make you question what you always thought you wanted as well as what you didn’t want is now everything you desire. It’s a poignant story about not judging a book by its cover and letting go of the past. Grayson is a hot dad, with the most lovable son, who has been burned badly. Sidney is strong, fiery and trying to prove she not better than everyone. Their chemistry is scorching! Sidney and Luke’s relationship will melt your heart. As usual K. Bromberg’s writing style will take you on a journey. A journey that has all the FEELS! You won’t want to put it down and will beg for more after the last word is read. I highly recommend this book.
Just wow.
This blew me away emotionally, mentally, and a little physically.
Sidney was at first what everyone thought her to be – spoiled, makes an excuse for everything, has a silver spoon in her mouth, and slightly intolerable… but then you find out why she failed to make a very important meeting and you see she is none of those things. There is more to her and she is capable of growing and maturing. Being forced back to her hometown that she never looked back on after graduation is tough for anyone… imagine having your world narrowed down so you can get where you want to go? That is life altering… and then she meets Grayson Malone all over again. Gone is the gangly boy from high school and now there is this “beefcake” in front of her.
Grayson is hot, yes, but he is also holding on to some old pain that he just cannot seem to let go of. Not only that, but he has his son, Luke, to worry about. Add in the pretty, privileged girl from high school who never looked his way and reminds him of Luke’s mother? Ticking time bomb.
Their chemistry was explosive and combustive. They knew that something was going to happen just not when or how. Toss in a contest that Sidney is putting on and Grayson is the front runner and you have interactions that just build and build and build until one of them snaps. And god was it hot and cold shower worthy.
Luke… oh Luke you stole my heart when I didn’t think there was any left to steal. He is quintessential to this story and family. He was so sweet and genuine and your heart broke at times and then it would heal right up.
This was just a great, feel-good read!

Loved this book!
Sidney has dreams of being the editor-in-chief at her Father’s fashion magazine but when she messes an interview up he decides she needs to prove she can do the job and sends her back to her home town to work at their Modern Family magazine.
When Sidney arrives back it is just how she remembers it, one thing that is not the same though is Grayson Malone, he got hotter and he also entered the hot dad competition she is running to boost the magazines ratings.
Grayson hasn’t had things easy, he is a single dad and has just been grounded from being a helicopter pilot for taking a few too many risks. When he sees Sidney is back in town he is immediately on guard as she reminds him of his Ex way too much.
Sidney and Grayson argue and flirt a lot. The chemistry between these two is off the charts but can Sidney convince Grayson she is nothing like his Ex? Can her dreams of running the fashion magazine change? Can Grayson get over the damage he and his son suffered before and let another women into their lives? You will have to read to find out. Trust me it is worth the risk
This is a heartfelt wonderful love story and grabs you and doesn’t let you go. Ashley @White Hot Reads
Grayson is a single dad who has burned by the rich girl but is left with the one gift his son! He is not letting himself fall for anyone until she knocks on his and into his life.
Sydney is the magazines owner daughter that has screwed up and to prove that she can do what she needs to do to get her dream editor job has to go back to her roots to help one of her fathers pioneer magazines. What she doesn’t count on is the blue collar boy changing her life and what she wants.
This is a wonderful enemies to lovers story with lots of emoticons!!!
Grayson Malone is the last of the Malone brothers we get up close and personal with and I have to say although I fell for Grant and Grady Malone hard, K. Bromberg has left the best to last with Worth the Risk. We find ourselves back in Sunnyville surrounded by the Malone family and all the engaging characters that live there. Grayson finds himself face to face with Sidney Thorton, someone who reminds him of another life and time he would rather forget. He’s been hurt badly and has no intention of allowing Sidney into his or his son’s life. Sidney is in Sunnyville to help manage the Modern Family Magazine’s Hot Dad Contest and prove to her father she is capable of much more than he thinks she is. Fortunately for us Grayson’s brothers have entered him into the contest without him knowing and the games begin. There’s an instant attraction between these two and K. Bromberg works her magic with the ‘slow burn’ and then POW it’s on for young and old. These two characters are so busy doing the right thing for everyone else that they aren’t focused on their own happiness. Sometimes whats expected of you isn’t going to make you happy and you have to ask yourself if taking a chance on love and stepping outside your comfort zone is worth the risk. I really loved the interaction between Grayson and his son, Luke. K. Bromberg has the knack of writing the dynamics of family life in such a way that you want to be part of that family. As always the emotion of the story is there and the characters have enough layers to keep us wanting to see them slowly stripped away. It’s a wonderful read and this Malone brother has stolen my heart 100%
I cant even begin to describe how I felt reading Grayson Malone’s story. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole book from start to finish wondering and hoping for a beautiful outcome.
Oh boy, I really felt for Grayson and his son. Doing his absolute best at being the best Dad he can be, that made him admirable in my eyes. His brothers and their wives were a hoot, his parents very supportive and when he doesnt take into account his own feelings and wants, they certainly tell him what for.
I loved alot of this book and the characters and it just made me want to live in the town myself. I really loved Sidney, her indecisiveness, her sass, her need to show her Dad that she can do her job. But what she doesnt count on is a certain Man and things certainly get interesting indeed. This book was wonderful. The characters made me smile. The whole storyline was just enthralling that I wanted to keep on reading forever. I loved the beginning, middle and ending.
The author has written it in such a way you come out feeling like the whole world is right again. A story that wll definitely tug at your heart just as it did mine, in so many ways!!
So many layers, so much emotion! This is what K.Bromberg gives you every time and is something I never doubt I will get when reading her books.
To say I’m addicted is an understatement. Her ability to draw you in like you feel your right there amongst it all, standing next to the characters and absorbing every emotion and look between them. It’s a feeling that is so incredible and fulfilling. Worth The Risk has made me feel all of this and so much more.
This book is about second chances and finding out that people aren’t always what they seem. The stereotype you perceive them to be then realising you got it wrong and they are nothing like the ones you have dealt with in the past. The one that broke your heart and shattered your world. To admit to yourself that you can trust your heart with what it wants and not be so consumed with the sadness and hurt of the past.
Grayson and Sidney’s story is told only the way K.Bromberg can tell it. There characters are so true and strong, and yes we all love the hot alpha male but there is something about Sidney that will have you so in love with her character. With so much Intensity and raw emotion, as well as some humor and fun times, these two will open you up to feel everything that they are going through. The single dad and the Uptown girl, the little boy who will melt your heart with his innocence and loving personality, then break it just as quickly with his desire for the one thing that is missing in his life. A Mother!
Worth The Risk to me is written perfection. The storyline, the whole book is just perfect and fulfilling. The heart and soul behind every word is evident and you will not be able to help but fall in love with another Malone.
Now we meet the last Malone brother Grayson and he is one hot AF single dad. In each book in this series of sexy Malone boys K Bromberg has delivered us a story that melts your heart and makes you swoon.
Grayson has been entered into a Hot Dad contest by his brothers in a magazine competition. Sidney has been sent by her dad the owner of the magazine to prove herself and increase the sales figures. They went to school together but came from different worlds. In Grayson’s eyes Sidney is a rich girl who only cares about the material things.
I seriously loved watching the clash between these two. The fact that they were seriously attracted to each other built up the tension between them more. Seriously one spark stood a chance at igniting one serious inferno. What starts out as secret no strings attached develops into such a beautiful relationship if only Grayson can let go of his fears.
Even though I have loved the Malone boys since book 1 its the youngest Malone that seriously stole my heart. He was so cute!! My heart burst with his cuteness and he honestly made me cry with his need for a mum and especially his explanation as to why men marry women
“Did you find me a mom? ” I freeze. “No,” I say through a chuckle, “I didn’t find you a mom.” “But there were a lot of women there. Did you no like any of their vaginas?…..”
I will be honest my heart really broke for Sidney. She changed so much through the book and her feelings for Grayson grew into something so strong and beautiful she just needed him to choose her and fight for her, if he could ever get over his preconceptions of her.
“I love you, damn it, and I don’t have a fucking clue what to do about it other than to ask you to choose me. To tell me I’m worth the risk.”
This book is another prime example as to why Kristy Bromberg is one of my favourite one-click, must read, get super excited when a new book comes out authors.
4.5 Stars
The Malone brothers haven’t necessarily been memorable for me, in so much as I couldn’t tell them apart. The whole Grant/Grady/Grayson confusion just had my head in a spin. Having said that, I was always intrigued by Grayson’s story and boy did K Bromberg leave the best till last.
Sidney Thorton, entitled rich girl, living off Daddy’s wealth (or so the book has you perceive) returns to Sunnyville. But Grayson doesn’t exactly have fond memories of her. Team that with the fact that he is a single Dad to Luke who he would protect with his life and that’s all the angst I needed right there.
I didn’t even struggle to recognise Grayson from his brothers. His character seemed to stand apart from them.
Just like Cuffed and Combust, this book is being marketed as a stand alone. Quite rightly they can all be read as stand alones, but I would definitely recommend reading them in order.
The only downside is that I still can’t tell Grady and Grant apart, I so wish they had been called something else, but in the end I honestly didn’t care, because this book was superb.
This was an amazing story written by Kristy. A single dad Grayson who loves his son Luke unconditionally. An enemy to lovers that will make you laugh cry and swoon over and over. Sydney a true heroine that grew up wanting for nothing but as you read her character grows. I definitely recommend this book from the beginning to the end.
Worth the Risk was a sweet single dad novel. This story is the third book in the series and it’s about the last Malone brother Grayson and Sidney the spoil rich girl from high school who reminds him of his ex. These two were as different as chalk and cheese.
Grayson was the family oriented single dad with a chip on his shoulder. I loved his relationship with his son but he had alot of baggage to work out regarding his son’s mother.
Sidney vying for the job of her life, takes the job in Sunnyville to prove to her father that she can do the job and save the magazine. She had her city life and had no interest in family.
And then there was Grayson’s son Luke who for me stole every scene he was in in this novel. I loved him so much.
This story was emotional, heart-warming, humorous and sexy. It was a bit of a slow burn as Grayson did not warm up to her at first even though Luke did.
I enjoyed this novel, apart from the romance, Grayson’s brothers were all here and had me laughing throughout the novel.
This was a fantastic read and I would highly recommend it.
The title may say, “Worth the Risk,” however, I have to say it was well worth the reward! You will without a doubt fall head over heels for this heartfelt love story that the talented Kristy Bromberg has woven together.
Sidney is a strong, self-reliant, and determined woman out to prove to her father (and boss) that she can handle anything he throws her way. With all of Sidney’s resolve to get the job done, she still has to face one tough fact. She must go back to the small town that she couldn’t get away from fast enough after high school in order to accomplish her mission.
Hometown hero, Grayson, a single dad with a heart of gold and a body that can make a woman stop right in her tracks, has no idea that a blast from his past is about to throw his life upside down.
I immediately fell in love with both Grayson and Sidney individually. Her spunk, high energy, and positivity were contagious. The determination she possessed to prove herself was something I craved to read more and more of. I loved following her journey of self-discovery as she realized that the most important things in her life were changing before her very eyes. She began to put others first and was rewarded beyond measure.
Throughout the book Grayson and Sidney struggle with themselves and one another, as to how they each see what they view their futures should look like, and how those futures they had imagined are evolving.
My heart felt like it was on an emotional roller coaster in the best way possible. I could not put this book down! I just couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen next.
These two multi-dimensional characters kept me captivated and stole my heart as they reluctantly let down their guard and took a risk on each other. I urge you to take a risk on this book because when you do you will gladly reap the reward.
K. Bromberg always gives you her heart when she writes her stories! Worth the Risk was definitely worth the wait. The Malone’s feel like they are my family too. I have completely fallen for this family. I have been waiting for Grayson’s story and I am so so happy that it was everything I could imagine it would be and more! There are a lot of emotional waves you have to go through to find the light. Sidney on the other hand, she had me sneering in the beginning. I had my fingers crossed that she and Gray would grow and develop as the story went on. Let me tell you, they surpassed all my expectations.
Can we talk about my newest little cutie? Luke! Every damn time that kid would make an appearance and start talking, he literally either broke my heart or had me with a full blown smile. You know those smiles where after awhile your cheeks are hurting. Yeah this kid kills it!! Especially when asking Ms. Sidney to go on a date. *Heart melts into a puddle of goo*
Worth the Risk definitely has the sexy and boy it will blow your mind! Who knew what Grayson was hiding all along 😉 This story has so much more. The heart, the soul, and the emotions that will have you in a whirlwind. K. Bromberg knows what her readers need! My heart is full after reading this book <3
“The best things in life never are easy. You have to work at them and struggle with them just to make them work, but that’s the best reward … that you didn’t give up and it netted you something beautiful. We could be beautiful.”
I’ve never pleaded in my life, but I’m doing it now. I need to hear him tell me he’ll try. That I’m worth the risk. That he wants me to stay.
“I love you, damn it, and I don’t have a fucking clue what to do about it other than to ask you to choose me. To tell me I’m worth the risk.”
If I thought the other Malone brothers were something, oh goodness, Grayson is THE SOMETHING! Now, that’s not to say that he doesn’t have his issues, because wowza…
He is a single dad, which is one of my favorite types of men. He is dedicated to his job, his family, and first and foremost: his son. In everything he does, I could tell he put those around him first, but he also seemed to be stuck in the past. I can identify with some of how he felt – it’s always difficult to hope for the future when your past has scarred you so deeply. There were many a time I wanted to knock some sense into him! But, no matter how high my annoyance level reached, Grayson still took my heart.
Oh Sidney … from the minute I met her I saw straight into her heart. It took me a little time to come around, because goodness did she get on my nerves too! What I loved about Sidney was that she always seemed really honest with herself. She acknowledged her privilege, her mistakes, and her feelings (well, she gets there eventually).
What I loved most about the story was how it really exhibited the frailty of life and relationships. There was SO MUCH love in this story, but there was just as much insecurity and doubt. Each character had parts of themselves that they needed to really focus on and decide how they were going to live for their future. In this, it allowed me to see deeper into them, as characters, and helped me to connect through my own insecurities and doubts.
All the feels
A man in a suit always gets me, no matter what kind of suit it is! Don’t know what it is, but damn a man in a suit is the sexiest thing alive!
Grayson is a Malone, he and his brothers all have jobs that require a uniform 😉 So I can’t honestly tell you which of the Malone brothers is my favorite because it’s hard to choose just one, so I’ll have to tell you that they’re all my favorite!!
Grayson has a little boy that means the world to him. His main focus and priority is Luke. He doesn’t want to date nor does he feel like he has time for that.
Grayson and Sidney obviously have history. Not the good kind of history — more like the really bad kind of history. Grayson was googly eyed over Sidney when they were in high school, but her being a rich snob, would never in a million years go for a blue collar type of person.
So you know that there’s going to be tension, there’s going to be hatred, there’s going to be angst, but overall there’s going to be some sexy hot chemistry between these two.
The last place Sidney wants to be at is at Sunnyville, but in order to prove to her dad that she is a responsible and reliable person, she needs to go work at the magazine office in Sunnyville. She needs to bring the ratings back up and if she does, she can end up with her dream position within the company and the magazine that she’s been vying to work for.
Grayson has been burned by Luke’s mom so he harbors a great dislike for rich women. The last thing he wants is to hook up with another snotty rich woman. But you can’t deny the strong sexual chemistry these two have towards each other. I mean, he did harbor a crush on her when they were in high school, but those days are long gone. Can he rekindle those sparks he felt for her then to now??
Can Sidney actually change her mind about how she feels towards having a family? I know this isn’t want she wants, but like the saying goes “the heart wants what it wants” and it seems like Sidney’s priorities are changing pretty drastically here.
Who in the world can NOT like a man who has a uniform, a child and is sexy as sin!!! I mean, come on you have issues if you don’t!!
So this book was freaking intense, the chemistry between Grayson and Sidney was just so out of this world heart palpitating that you felt like you were in the book along with them trying to tell them both to stop being so stubborn and just give in to each other!
Grayson has just been added to my top of HOT men list!
K. Bromberg has knocked it right out the park with the Malone brothers. This series will have you completely in a spell and can’t find yourself getting out of it!
5 Stars!
– never go in search of love, go in search of life, and life will find the love you seek – Atticus
I have been a fan of K. Bromberg since forever.
Worth the Risk is just another jewel in the crown of her successes!
This story of Sidney and Grayson is spectacular. A shared history of growing up in the same town but as time goes on, they change is such different ways.
Sidney grew up with great privilege and wealth and as a child she was a product of that. But K. elegantly shows how much Sidney has changed since then and is becoming a better person, but still has roots of big city living and jet setting trips.
Grayson, oh Grayson….such a beautiful mess he is. He has been hurt so badly that he has used any excuse necessary to keep himself from getting hurt again and it has worked for years. Until Sidney comes back into town…
The chemistry between these two is WHITE hot! From their first interaction to the last it’s just whew!! Can I just say that Grayson’s dirty talk and texts are “da bomb!”
The angst is on point! Not to much to make you want to scream and stop reading but just enough to keep you turning the pages and cheering them on!
The secondary characters are phenomenal and really help the story flow.
In my humble opinion, K has yet to write a book that I haven’t fallen in love with and with this story that love affair lives on!
Thank you for your stories and your words!
The only risk of reading this book is that, if you loved Grant and Grady, you would want to cheat on them.
What else you need to know? He is pilot and a hot single dad, his only focus is his son and saving people; That’s why his family will do everything they can to snag him a “future-wife”, something he dreads because the last time he gave his heart he was left broken but now the risk is not only for him but for his son.
Sidney has always gotten what she wanted, she was born in a world with everything and she has been working on reaching all her goals, she doesn’t need a man or kids to be completely happy, but when a mistake she did lands her in the not-so-luxury Sunnyville, she will think again on what she really wants and what could make her really happy. It won’t be easy because its completely opposite of what her goals and dreams are.
Sidney is not a damsel in distress, but the hometown hero will save her in every way.
“”Ladies, it seems that if you need saving-or maybe even a little mouth-to-mouth-or to be taken to new heights in his mile-high club” -Grady grins as the crowd shouts another round of comments-“he’s your man. “”
Nobody can resist Grayson, neither will you.
But I will tell you a little secret, the one who will really really steal your heart is his son, Luke, that kid is amazing!!! Love him to pieces, he totally completed his dad and in his innocence not that innocent he will break your heart and then put it back together.
I loved everything about this book, Kristy never fails to make me fall for her heroes, I loved the story, loved every character and loved the fact that we get to know a little more about the other Malone brothers and the three of them together is even better.
Do not think twice about reading this book, Kristy is one of my auto-one-click authors but seriously, with Grayson she outed herself.
“She tastes like heaven and hell. Like want and need. Like deception and desire.”
Worth The Risk was worth every explosive page. I am completely hooked on Grayson and Sidney! Everything about this book and it’s characters I did not see coming. This story has each page packed full of angst and raw emotion. The plot was unique and stands out from other stories I have read. I loved the enemies to lovers vibe I got from this story. It’s a slow burn that had me squirming in my seat. The chemistry between characters was down right explosive. It sizzles from your kindle and consumes you. This is a true story of growth and healing. Both characters had so much to learn not just about life but themselves. I loved how the author takes you on emotional ride laced with heartache, healing, and taking chances. I could NOT be more in love with that ending. It was literally EVERYTHING. It left my heart absolutely fuzzy with feels! As with all the others Malone Brothers Grayson’s story did not disappoint.
Sidney’s character was a spit fire who thought she knew what she wanted. She was easy to love but stubborn to the bone. While at the same time compassionate and vulnerable. I loved watching her character develop and grow! She was exactly the heroine this story needed.
Grayson was nothing like I expected. He was intense. He was consuming. He was unattainable. He had you angry one minute and swooning the next. He tugged at your with his vulnerability and past demons. While admiring him for raising a son as wonderful as Luke.
Luke completely stole the show for me this book. Some of the things that came out of his mouth had me laughing on the verge of tears. He was so charming and so much like his Dad. That little boy melted my heart many times. He also broke my heart many times with his vulnerability regarding his absent Mom.
*4&1/2 STARS*
Well earned for a uniquely captivating story, with complex characters that keeps you entranced from start to finish.
*I voluntarily read a advanced copy
Worth the Risk is a story of love, forgiveness and healing. Kristy Bromberg upped her game with this book! I felt so many emotions reading it.
I LOVED everything about Grayson, even when he wasn’t so lovable! He just may be my favorite Malone brother. I love stories about single dads, but there was just something so special about his relationship with Luke!! Grayson is so strong with amazing values, but yet so insecure at the same time. Being abandoned by Luke’s mom caused him to have major trust issues when it comes to women. So when the beautiful, fierce Sidney Thorton shows up at his door, Grayson was less than pleased. And boy oh boy, did she knock Grayson’s world off its axis.
Upon first impression, Sidney seemed like your typical spoiled, rich brat. However, there was definitely more beyond the surface. All it took was coming back to her hometown to realize how empty her life was. Being back in her hometown under the orders of her father, Sidney jumped head first into her new job assignment which brought her into Grayson’s life. She took a lot of crap from Grayson and was unfairly judged from the jump. When looking at her, he only saw the woman who broke his heart. However, little by little and with a little push here and there from others, these two started to see each other and their lives in a different light. Their relationship started off as a slow burn that turned into a full on inferno! Although, sometimes people just can’t seem to get out of their own way. This was definitely the case for Grayson. He gave me whiplash at times and he made me want to slap him silly and tell him to open his eyes and see what was right in front of him for the taking.
In my opinion, Luke steals the show and my heart! He has a dad who loves him more than life, but all this poor kid wants is a mom. The interactions with his dad were heartbreaking, yet beautiful. This kid is so sweet I found myself smiling whenever he came into the story.
