Many are called… She alone can save the world and become Death’s bride.
(Cobweb Bride Trilogy, Book One) is a history-flavored fantasy novel with romantic elements of the Persephone myth, about Death’s ultimatum to the world.
What if you killed someone and then fell in love with them?
In an alternate Renaissance world, somewhere in an imaginary “pocket” of Europe called the Kingdom of … somewhere in an imaginary “pocket” of Europe called the Kingdom of Lethe, Death comes, in the form of a grim Spaniard, to claim his Bride. Until she is found, in a single time-stopping moment all dying stops. There is no relief for the mortally wounded and the terminally ill….
Covered in white cobwebs of a thousand snow spiders she lies in the darkness… Her skin is cold as snow… Her eyes, frozen… Her gaze, fiercely alive…
While kings and emperors send expeditions to search for a suitable Bride for Death, armies of the undead wage an endless war… A black knight roams the forest at the command of his undead father… Spies and political treacheries abound at the imperial Silver Court…. Murdered lovers find themselves locked in the realm of the living…
Look closer — through the cobweb filaments of her hair and along each strand shine stars…
And one small village girl, Percy — an unwanted, ungainly middle daughter — is faced with the responsibility of granting her dying grandmother the desperate release she needs.
As a result, Percy joins the crowds of other young women of the land in a desperate quest to Death’s own mysterious holding in the deepest forests of the North…
And everyone is trying to stop her.

I thought this concept was so original. It was like jackfruit among apples and bananas. There were a lot of things I liked about this book such as Percy and her eccentric personality as well as the many complex and original ideas (like falling in love with someone you killed). The one big thing I regretted about this book was that while I was …
Weird book, but compels you to keep reading. In fact, I’m anxiously awaiting for the author/Amazon to put this in Kindle Unlimited so I can read the sequels.
Nazarian is a great author. Loved this book and would buy any of her work.
Great read and not predictable ending loved it
This Book does not follow the usual formulas. I enjoyed the unexpected turns. Good descriptions of environments and of some characters.
Very original story line that is so we’ll written that I found myself perpetually cold as the author sent me into the frozen north to seek out the end of the plot.
I can’t wait to get my hands on the second book just to follow our heroines adventures
It was an interesting twist on a Greek myth. Also mildly terrifying to think of what imortal might mean.
Didn’t expect to like this book so much. Such an interesting premise of what would happen if death ceased. Great characters. So realistic as real people.
Very different story. Thought provoking concept of what our world would be like without death. Even the food was affected. Meditate on that for a minute to understand how integral death is to life. How one thing has to die (even plants) so something else can live. I liked how the characters joined together to travel to Death’s Castle to see if …
Started slow but it built into an enjoyable read. Be aware— it’s a trilogy. The first one makes it very enticing to order the other 2. I haven’t decided yet whether I will. Reading a different genre book and will decide ( if I keep thinking I would like to know what happens next.— I’ll order them.
I loved this so much I gulped it down in one evening, and ran out and bought the other two in the series. It’s seriously well written, the characters are all very different and fascinating. The story just pulled me along! What would happen if no one or nothing – human, plant or animal – could die? Death has decided not to let anyone die until he …
Probably the best book series I read in 2016. Fabulous world-building and character development. Meaningful relationships that aren’t always positive or romantic.
Nazarian has achieved something that is unique in my experience. She has taken eastern European folk tales, blended them with a believable set of characters and circumstances, and created something very new and compelling. As with the first of her Atlantis Grail series, she has created a book that causes me to absolutely yearn for the next in …
This is a very different story with a truly unique plot. I grew to enjoy the characters and their quest to find death’s keep. I enjoyed watching them grow and develop into more rounded characters. Although they finished the initial quest, the matter was far from resolved. I found myself wanting the next episode to achieve more resolution.
Liked the idea. Characters were interesting. Would read the next in the series.
Great book really injoyed reading it.
I admit, this book took a while to get fully into, but once I understood the storyline, I relaxed and enjoyed the journey very much. If you like intelligent fantasy and western mythology, you’ll find this story original and intriguing. This is the first of a 3 book series and each book is stronger than the last. I can only say that the entire …
Would give it 31/2 stars if possible. Original story but really drags.
This book has a unique premise that causes one to think beyond the surface. Its characters draw one in and intertwine to develop a plot that deepens throughout the book. Well written …
