Four guys. Constant moaning. And a revolving door across the college suite I somehow ended up in because my first name is Shawn. They don’t discriminate. Girls. Guys. Grandmas. Plants (okay maybe not plants) all walks of life stroll in stressed to the brim, and leave so satisfied I’m wondering what sort of talents lie behind that door. My roommate calls them the pleasure ponies. But the rest of … pleasure ponies.
But the rest of the college campus?
They just call them the new face of Wingmen Inc. A paid for relationship service that makes big promises.
Breakup? They’ll glue you back together again.
Depressed? They have the magic pill.
Lonely? Just spend a few minutes while they rub you down and you’ll forget all about it.
And broken hearts? Well, that’s their specialty. They’ll fix you.
For a price…
I swore I wouldn’t get involved.
But apparently they like a challenge, and a girl who doesn’t put up with their BS is basically like waving a red flag in front of a bull.
They. All. Charged.
But one holds my attention above the rest.
Knox Tate looks like a Viking — and getting pillaged is starting to look more appealing by the day. Though he’s hiding something — all of them are. And the closer I get. The more I realize that some things are left better in the past.
You’ve read reverse harem books before — but you’ve never read one like this. It’s not what you think, or is it? Dive in and find out…
Knox, Leo, Finn, and Slater are waiting, and they aren’t patient men.
Welcome to the new face of Wingmen Inc — You’re welcome.

Another amazing read by Rachel Van Dyken… She’s one of my go to author and she never disappointed! I was scared to give this a try bcz of reverse harm trope but Rachel’s way is different and omg the best. The story is so much more. 4 hot guys after a girl what can you expect! But trust me it’s much more than that. The depth and emotional roller-coaster this book take is worth it. I love this book soo much… Amazing 5 stars read for me!
My first book of the year, of course, had to be Van Dyken. There is something about her stories that always pull me in. And this one did just that.
Co-Ed branches off from the Wingmen inc. Series. Knox is part of a group of guys, where women pay them to fix them pretty much and move on. Nothing insane, but there are rumors, and it is college so… you know
Shawn just so happens to be a roommate of one of the guys who used to be part of it. She has no idea what she’s gotten herself into. I loved this story, and it wasn’t predictable, had a good twist. It was hilarious and heartbreaking.
Of course, I must finish the series through. I can’t wait to see what happens the characters I’ve grown so fond of.
Overall, Five Boundless Stars
This has been on my TBR forever but I just never felt in the mood for a reverse harem story. Now that I’ve read it I can say it really wasn’t reverse harem. And while I liked a lot of things about this book I just felt like it was a little too secrets and daggers for what I was expecting.
I really hate when people keep secrets that are public knowledge to everyone else. Obviously it’s going to come out at an inopportune moment and cause a heap of drama so just man up and spit it out. Knox ran a little hot and cold for me and Shawn was a little doormatty at times. And everyone else was kind of wishy washy. Slater felt like he was hurt and mad at the boys but was still staring at them like a teenage girl at a one direction concert. Dude you can’t have these strong feelings about something they have done then still want to be BFFs.
Overall it was a good read and since it’s a KU title it’s even better and I am planning to read the rest of the series but this one just missed the mark for me a little.
Pleasure ponies
This story took a completely different route to what I thought when I first read the blurb but I absolutely loved itIt was complex, the characters were well developed and made me feel as though I was right there in the moment with them
I bought this book when I saw more were coming out now in December and I would definitely recommend this one. It focuses more on Knox and Shawn but I’m keen to see what Rachel has in store for Finn, Leo and Slater?
This was a neat book. I liked all the drama. I was not expecting the surprise ending. Jessica who knew. Can’t wait to read more, I hope there’s another book with Leo, Finn and Slater.
3.5 Stars! I did not know what to expect when I picked up this book, I just knew that I love Rachel’s writing and wanted to give it a try. This book is nothing that I expected but I enjoyed all the same! I thought that the concept was great, the story progression worked really well. I was happy that Shawn found her a tribe to protect her and help validate her place in this world. I loved the supporting characters and Finn and Leo added a great element to the book. I loved how serious issues were touched on in a realistic setting. Well done Rachel!
Original review: https://myshelfbooks.wordpress.com/2019/02/17/co-ed-rachel-van-dyken/
I haven’t posted it here, but at the end of the blurb the author says clearly this is kind of a reverse harem book. The “kind of” part is the key, because there is nothing remotely similar to a reverse harem story. It’s just a young woman having four male friends. That is called friendship, not reverse harem… So I must say I felt a bit cheated when the book didn’t display a ménage or two…
In this book we meet Shawn, a student who has just gone through a hard break-up and asked for a transfer to another University. Due to her masculine name, she is stuck in a room with a man (Slater) and, in the opposite door, are the infamous interns of Wingmen, Inc.: Knox, Finn and Leo. The three of them show an inmediate interest for Shawn, but it is Knox the one who is feeling a stronger pull towards her. Slater is not happy about their interest in his new roommate, but no one cares to air the secrets they are hiding from Shawn.
I forgot this book was a spin-off of the famous saga Wingmen Inc. I know it is just right there in the blurb, but I didn’t re-read it when I chose this story to be my “C” of the ABC Challenge I’m following. Otherwise, I would have read the other two books before. But, I can declare this book works fine as a standalone. There is no need about previous knowledge of the Wingmen to understand Co-Ed. The several little facts that are explained by the guys are more than enough to get the reader ready to enjoy the story.
And enjoyment I had. At least at the beginning. Sadly, my level of enjoyment was downhill pretty fast after the first chapters. The good thing I can say about this book is that the pace is perfect and it’s easy to read. It also has some good sense of humor and several gooofy moments that make the book lighter, but there was a constant murmur in my head while reading the book telling me there was something terribly wrong. There was sometinhg that was eating away my good time with the book. Sadly, that thing is not other than the three guys selling their services.
They were fun for a couple of chapters. A bunch of hunks hell-bent in mastering the dance of courting and in making their partners have the best possible time. It is a nice thought, but the author takes it too far. They are SO good, they have the walkthrough so well studied that there is not a sliver of spontaneity in their actions. Everything is perfectly calculated to assure maximum enjoyment. But while the clients and Shawn were riding the peak of their pleasure; I, as a reader, was trying to hold a yawn… and failing. The spark of getting to know the buttons to push is never lit, because the guys don’t need it. For them there is no exploration or uncharted territory. Everything is mapped and perfectly geolocated, with times of arrival and exact periods of stay… Their rotation may grant them perfect scores, but it lacks emotion.
But that is not the worst part. I guess it must be nice to have three hotties covering all your needs in a daily basis, but it goes way beyond that. More often than not, Shawn is treated as a delicate porcelain adornment incapable of taking care of herself and without the proper skills to even feed by her own means… When they don’t allow her to eat her own junk food or put a drink in her mouth I just wanted to scream. And don’t get me started about the constant shoulder massages everytime she encounters them. Those guys know no boundaries and it’s not OK. I felt uncomfortable more than once while reading. And it pissed me off that Shawn doesn’t fight it back as she was supposed to.
The story itself is not bad. The secrets are unraveled little by little and you can even be a bit empathetic about the protective behaviour of the guys (which is the least of their issues…). What I didn’t like was the ending itself. It’s a bit messy and I’m still trying to make sense of it. How did she know that Shawn was going to be at the party? Is she alkways ready to provoke an overdose? Was the friend of Shawn an accomplish? How did the guys put all the pieces together suddenly? And are you kidding me about the ghost? It was a mess that exploded in just a couple of chapters.
I don’t sound happy, because I am a bit disappointed with it. But even though there are several annoying issues with the book, I will insist on its easiness to read. A nice light reading to kill time, but nothing more.
This author is one of the ones I click without even having to read anything about the book because I know I will thoroughly enjoy the story, and this book lived up to my expectations.
I loved Shawn’s sassy comebacks to the guys, I loved the protectiveness of Slater and the playfulness of Leo and Finn, and the sexiness of Knox. Now put all four of these guys with Shawn, and they are just absolutely adorable and a group of guys I would love to call my friends.
Loved it so much that I had trouble putting it down and hated that I had to sleep to be able to function.
Shawn is just you know feisty, “…she scowled. “I refuse to be insulted by some guy who has longer hair than me and clearly has a scissor phobia.” There are times Knox means serious business and that leaves no room for questioning, “no. You never pay. Not for anything. Not with me, not with Leo, not with Finn, and if I ever hear you do, I’ll hand them their a**es, alright? Those pieces of **** should know better anyway.” Knox sometimes points out the obvious, “you’re holding my hand,” I blurted, squeezing her fingers back as we headed toward the science building.” As I was a few pages in I realized that this book reaminding me of the Mean Girls movie not the plot or anything it’s just Knox was the ring leader therfore he was Regina George I’m still not sure which is which for Leo and Finn, but they was everyone on campus was talking about them it was a very Mean Girls vibe. I loved this book, Shawn needed Knox, Finn, and Leo just as much as they needed her, to be honest they probably needed her more. I’m hoping the others get a book of their own, I need to know what kind of women bring Finn and Leo to their knees and make them beg
A great read
Oh my goodness, I know I say this a lot, however RVD this is a great book. I feel in love with this book full of amazing characters, and one possessed unicorn named Horny. A girl named Shawn is mistakenly roomed with a guy and his stuffed unicorn Horny across the hall from the pleasure ponies. Who do just that all the time for anyone who will play. She then runs into one of the ponies while she is taking a shower and from there a friendship is born. Did we just become best friends? Yep! Well hello Leo. But the attraction doesn’t stop there. Shawn also meets Finn, and later drop dead gorgeous Knox. And that rounds out the pleasure ponies. But the fun doesn’t stop there. This book will have you hooked till the very last page with a pretty good twist that I really did not see coming!! Also RVD please give Finn, Leo, and Slater their own books.
I am a huge fan of Rachel Van Dyken but must be honest and say she is a relatively recent discovery for me. So, though I have not read all her books yet, I am trying to catch up. I must admit I have not read the Wingmen Inc series as of yet (though I did watch the movie and loved it), but I plan too, soon. Co-Ed is a spinoff of sorts from the original series but can be read as a standalone.
Because of her name, Shawn finds herself in an all-male dorm surrounded by Knox, Finn, Leo and Slater. Slater is her roommate and the other three, well let’s just say she is intrigued by them. Throughout the story all of these characters have great banter and interconnections. But one stands out to Shawn more than the others. You have to read to find out who!
Co-Ed was funny, but also tackled some serious topics and the author did a great job balancing the story. And though I would not consider this a true reverse harem book, I like the twist the author did with it. Co-Ed flowed well and had likeable characters
Happy reading!
I received a copy of this book from the author.
I recently went to Los Angeles, CA to see the first Wingman Ink book (The Matchmaker’s Playbook) movie premier. I loved the movie. I hadn’t read the whole book by the time I got to LA to watch it but I was over half way through so I knew what was happening in the movie.
Saying all that when this installment of Wingman Ink came along I wanted to read it. This is the third one but you can read each as a stand alone. In fact the main characters in the first two books only have a small role in this novel.
Co-Ed features a woman named Shawn who’d been mistakenly placed in a suite with three men. She was pretty much used to being referred to as a guy since her name was typically belonged to one. This suite just so happened to belong to the men of Wingman Ink.
As much as she fights it Shawn can’t get away from her attraction to Knox. There’s just something about him she wants to explore. He has his own demons but can’t stay away from Shawn either. Though if Shawn’s roommate has anything to do with it Shawn and Knox will not be together.
You’ll find a tad bit of drama in this book. You’ll probably even chuckle a time or two. I enjoyed reading these characters. They did Wingman Ink proud.
I really loved this one. Shawn is a girl with a boys name. She mistakenly gets marks as a boy when she transfers to a new college and is placed in the boys dorms. I loved Shawn. She may have a boy name but she’s all girl. She’s a down to earth and a fun character. Her roommate is Slater and then there are three sexy guys (Finn, Knox, and Leo) across the hall. I loved all of the characters. Each guys brings a different personality to the story. This one is fun read with a twist towards the end that I never saw coming. I was hooked from beginning to end and I would have read it on one sitting if real life things hadn’t forced me to put it down.

You’ll definitely will enjoy this story, who wouldn’t, Four insanely HOT guys at your fingertip!! 😉
Co-Ed is a stand alone title, you Do Not need to read the Matchmakers Playbook to enjoy this story.
Co-Ed takes you on one hell of a joy ride with Four insanely gorgeous guys, who calls themselves the “Pleasure Ponies”
You’ll fall in love with this crew like any of Rachel Van Dyken’s characters in past stories.
Lets see, the female character, Shawn was definitely one of my favorite heroine in this story. She’s strong, funny, gorgeous and top it off, she has to share a dorm with four guys! Life can not get any better, right?? 😉
Until she meets KNOX…
Now as for most novels, you’ll get just a hero and heroine but in Co-Ed you get Four heroes in this book. Knox being the leader of the group.
Leo and Finn who are definitely laugh-out-loud hilarious. They like yin and yang, they keep the group balanced.
Lastly you have Slater, the unicorn loving Slater , LOL!
One thing I love about this story was Rachel Van Dyken’s take on a reverse harem. You’ll probably thinking WHAT!! Right? Just wait in see, you’ll definitely enjoy this.
There’s so much more to say about Co-Ed, Shawn, the four guys but I don’t want to ruin this for anyone. I want everyone to enjoy this story as much as I did.
ENJOY!!!
I was given an early copy of this book in exchange of a honest and non-biased review.
I get giddy when I see Rachel has a new book out and this is a brilliant new standalone. With a tie in to the Wingman Inc and this is one hell of a must read.
Rachel has brought her usual phenomenal writing style to this well written story. She always manages to grip you straight away from page one and she holds your attention with every word, leaving you unable to put it down until you’ve finished.
Rachel gives us 4 hot as hell guys, complete with charm and swoon-worthy appeal. They know how to please people and Shawn in their sights. How is a girl to resist them?!?!
Anything form Rachel is a MUST read and this one must definitely be read
Co-Ed is the newest release by the incredibly talented Rachel Van Dyken. She’s one of my top favorite authors and it’s a special treat when she starts a new series. This is a spin-off of Wingman Inc. with all new delicious, funny and sexy characters. If you are even contemplating not reading this because the term reverse harem, please stop. It’s not what you think! Well, mostly :). Just read it. You won’t be disappointed. Knox, Leo, Finn and Slater (I mean, could these names be any better?) are Shawn’s new dorm suite mates. But, Shawn’s a girl who got placed there by accident. She has no idea what Knox, Leo and Finn are doing, but there’s a lot of moaning and women coming and going. She doesn’t have time for this! She’s trying to study, playing softball and she’s new to the school. But her curiosity gets the better of her and she has to take a look. Oh man. One is just hotter and sexier than the next. What? How? Why? Who? What? Slater warned her not to get sucked in, but she didn’t listen. She’s not going to fall for them. She’s stronger than that. But they are all hard to resist. They want to protect her. To care for her. She has no idea why though. The pull to Knox is stronger than the other. There’s something about his brooding that calls to her. He flirts then runs. She can’t help but be intrigued. But what happens when she falls under his spell? What has them all so overprotective? I loved this story! I love all of them. Knox is the hot one. Finn is the sexy one. Leo is the sensitive one. They were really, really good at what they do. They had me convinced to sign up! Knox is complicated and so damn hot! Shawn is fierce, hilarious and knows what she wants. I loved learning about these new characters and I can’t wait for more! Overall, I laughed, teared up, swoon, had to fan myself and loved every second!
“You’re chocolate milk, and baby girl, he’s been thirsting for a long time.”
“That’s my goal. Tempt you until you can’t handle it anymore.”
“It’s working.”
“Tell me you won’t scream.”
“Are your hands going to be on me?”
“Yeah.”
“Are you going to be touching me?”
“Hell, yeah.”
“Then I can’t promise I won’t scream.”
Co-Ed by Rachel Van Dyken is a spin-off standalone romance set in the world of The Wingmen and is sexy, steamy, and heartwarming. Told in dual POV between Knox, one of the new generation of Wingmen, and Shawn, the poor unfortunate female soul with a boys name which lands her in the boys suite of her co-ed dorm.
As a new transfer Shawn takes what she can get as far as room assignments but when her rest is interrupted thanks to the questionable activities of her suite-mates she wants to throw in the towel. When she actually lays eyes on the “Pleasure Ponies” that are across the way she is immediately drawn to the tall viking God of the bunch, Knox.
Knox has been closed down for the past three years. Yes, he’s been putting in his time as an Intern with Wingmen Inc., but his soul has not been in it. Not since the incident. The new girl in their dorm has him all twisted up and he has no idea how to handle himself around her.
Sexy, steamy, with just enough angst to keep this a page-turner the relationship between Shawn and Knox (and Finn and Leo and Slater) is scorching. Loved it! Enjoy!
Pleasure Ponies!
I was a little scared to start this book since I loved Wingmen Inc so much. How can anyone compete, or replace, Ian and Lex?
These four guys can. Don’t get me wrong. I still love Ian and Lex. But Knox, Finn, Leo, and Slater are up there too! They can definitely give the O.G.’s of Wingmen a run for their money.
There are some parts with Shawn that hit close to home with me. My kids are bi-racial and some of the things Shawn has dealt with because of her race, are things I worry about for my kids. I hope I’m making my daughter strong like Shawn is.
This story will have you laughing, but you may cry at a certain spot also. I teared up a couple of times.
The guys are great! Shawn is so lucky. I’m jealous of her and I’m happily married lol.
TI don’t want to say too much and give anything away though.
Rachel is a must read author for me. This is a book that I highly recommend. It’s a must one-click!
You will love the Pleasure Ponies!
I can’t wait for the next books!
*5 Stars*
ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.
RVD is a fairly new author to me, as I only started reading her books last year. But, as I have come to expect, she never lets me down, and this book was no exception.
I really enjoyed this one, and I sped through it in less than 24 hours. It’s one of my first forays into anything like a reverse harem style of story, and let me tell you, RVD has done this so well. I loved these characters. Every. Single. One. Even grumpy old Knox and Slater too.
Shawn was a great female lead, and I really liked her. And those boys? Oh lordy…. *fans self*
The storyline flowed really nicely and didn’t drag on, which was fabulous. There was always the wonder of what the story was about their past, and I started getting ideas and guessed quite close to what happened by the time it was revealed. Not the whole details, but part of them.
Everything comes together really nicely with this storyline, and I really enjoyed getting to know these guys. They all had such great personalities, and cheek, and tenderness. The whole package. Literally.
I really hope we get a book for each of the other 3 remaining dudes, and I also did not realise that there are two books prior this, which are connected to this story in a way as well. I definitely want to read those as well!
As always, highly recommend RVD! Loved this one!
I just love a Rachel Van Dyken book. Co-Ed is an all-new standalone in the Wingman Inc. world. With a brand new cast of characters, I wasn’t sure what I would be getting. I can honestly tell you what I got was a wonderful surprise. The beginning of this book was full of the campy fun humor I love getting from Rachel. As the book develops I realized the story had so much heart, soul, and depth.
Shawn and Knox’s relationship was addicting from the very first interaction. I won’t into any spoilers but my heart was aching at times for the struggles they encountered. Rachel Van Dyken is a fabulous writer and she did not let me down. I found the book to be clever and fun. Her stories are always so uniquely Rachel. I will definitely be sitting eager waiting for more from this cast.
