A (Serge A.) Storm is brewing for a cabal of bad guys gaming the Florida state lottery in this insanely funny novel from the maestro of mayhem, Tim Dorsey. If you’re loud and proud Floridian Serge A. Storms, how do you follow up your very own remake of Easy Rider? You shoot your own “episodes” of your favorite classic television show, Route 66! With Coleman riding shotgun, Serge is rolling down … riding shotgun, Serge is rolling down the highway of his dreams in a vintage silver convertible Corvette just like the snazzy car Martin Milner drove. It doesn’t matter that the actual Route 66 didn’t pass through Florida, for Serge discovers that a dozen episodes near the series’ end were filmed (really!) in his beloved home state. So for Serge and the always toked and stoked Coleman, the Sunshine State is all the road you need to get your kicks.
But their adventure traveling the byways of the Sunshine State’s underbelly is about to take a detour. Someone is trying to tilt the odds in the state lottery amidst a conga line of huge jackpots spinning off more chaos than any hurricane season. With this much at stake, of course every shady character wants in. Crooked bodega owners, drug cartels laundering money through the lottery, and venture capitalists are all trying to game the system—and lining up to get their cut. They’re also gambling with their lives, because when Serge and Coleman get hip to this timely (and very lucrative) trip, there’s no telling whose number is up next.
Throw in Brooke Campanella, Serge’s old flame, as well as the perpetually star-crossed Reevis, and it’s a sure bet that the ever lucky Serge will hit it big. Winning has never been this deadly—or this much fun!

Good author and characters.
Hilarous, outrageous, educational
Serge has another entertaining adventure
I love Tim Dorsey’s books. They are outrageously funny and totally warped. If you are easily offended, this book is not for you. The characters are unforgettable. The story lines are so funny I laughed so hard I almost cried. Although this book is not as funny as previous Serge Storms books, it is still well worth the read.
Consistently entertaining. If you love the characters, as much as I do, you will enjoy everything they do.
Tim Dorsey is like a jazz writer…he doesn’t write what’s expected, but really does follow down the path to the end of the story. It’s sorta like Family Circus, very circumspect and forces one to piece one and one together to understand what is happening to the multitude of characters. Having read a few of his novels, I know it will all come out in the end….as soon as he ties all the mysterious ends together. This story was no exception and I recommend it to anyone who doesn’t mind thinking a bit while they are reading…and laughing!
Tim Dorsey is one of the funniest authors there every was. Right up there with Janet Evanovich. I’ve read all of Tim’s and Janet’s books. Can hardly wait for the next ones.
Read all of the series but this was certainly not the best
To weird to follow, so didn’t finish.
Inane. Tries to be Hiaasen or Steve Forman but isn’t.
Not the best of the bunch.but, keeps you interested and guessing about how the next guy that irritates Serge gets it………
I don’t like Tim Dorsey or Serge Storms. These books tell of an insane Florida rover who travels about righting wrongs and killing, through imaginative methods, those he deems deserve killing. I Presume this behavior is considered hip, cool and clever. Really it’s just stupid. The author writes well and has a wild imagination. By the way Storms conducts a history travelogue of south Florida as he travels about.
I have read several Serge Storms stories. If you like wackiness for its own sake and can ignore the moral positions proposed, you may like this example of how low American literary taste have fallen.
Too silly to finish.
tries too hard to be funny
Been a long time since I’ve had a good laugh…it’s here!
another cannot wait till available Tim Dorsey book
Excellent writing and keeps you interested
Classic Dorsey! The continuing adventures of Serge and company!
Weird
Very poor. Whimsy overdone..
